Abstract

This research began with concerns about the degradation of the local Malind tribe community in South Papua amidst the frenzy of development. The low level of historical awareness of the Malind generation has led to their marginalization amidst development. Therefore, creativity is needed in learning to raise awareness of the history of the Malind tribe generation. This research is a literature study research. Data was obtained from literature sources, books, journals, documents and other literature sources. Processing research data using the Miles and Huberman technique. From the analysis of the data obtained, it was found that the Malind tribal community has a rich tradition of maintaining balance between humans and the environment. In meeting their food needs, the Malind tribe utilizes nature in a balanced manner. The Malind tribe's food sources include sago, bananas, wild boar, deer, fish, stocks, cassowaries and other animals obtained through hunting. The Malind tribe's food is processed by burning and boiling without using food flavorings. The local food traditions of the Malind tribe can be used as material to foster historical awareness through integration in learning. Teacher creativity is needed in utilizing the traditions and environment of the Malind tribe in designing learning. The conclusion of this research is that the Malind tribe's tradition of obtaining food is a tradition that must be taught to students in developing their historical awareness. Teachers must integrate history learning so that historical facts are close to the current context experienced by students.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to create and evaluate a holistic application prototype for lecture room management in the UPI Music Arts Study Program. This method will use a design thinking approach. Among the challenges that arise in effective and efficient lecture room management are scheduling conflicts, rapid changes in room needs, and a lack of real-time data. Automatic scheduling, real-time room booking, and accurate usage reporting are some of the features offered by the developed application. Empathy, definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing are the steps in the design thinking process used. To obtain direct feedback, students and instructors used the prototype for testing. The results of the study indicate that this application successfully increased user satisfaction, reduced scheduling errors, and improved the effectiveness and efficiency of lecture room management. By using performance evaluation, managers can better track room usage and make better decisions about resource allocation. This research emphasizes the importance of technological innovation in higher education management and provides a foundation for other institutions to adopt it. Additional recommendations include evaluating the long-term impact on academic performance and user satisfaction, using real-time notifications, enhancing data security, and integrating with other academic systems. By addressing these recommendations, institutions can further improve their room management processes, ensuring optimal use of space and resources. The holistic approach and technological integration proposed in this research offer a sustainable solution for managing educational facilities efficiently and effectively, catering to the dynamic needs of both students and faculty.

Abstract

Living museum is a concept that integrates direct experience with cultural and historical learning. This article explores the critical and ethnopedagogical dimensions in living museum practices with a focus on ethnographic perspectives in cultural education. Through a qualitative approach that includes participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, this study aims to understand how living museums can function as educational spaces that not only present history, but also encourage critical thinking and cultural reflection among visitors. This study identifies that living museums provide a platform for interactive dialogue between visitors and the cultural practices presented. In this context, living museums are not only places to display artifacts, but also arenas for knowledge exchange that involve community members in the educational process. This study highlights how an ethnopedagogical approach, involving guides as cultural stakeholders, can deepen visitors' understanding of cultural heritage and history. The findings of this study suggest that living museums can function as tools for critical thinking and cultural education, by encouraging visitors to reflect on the social and historical contexts of the artifacts they see. In addition, this study shows that living museums that successfully integrate ethnopedagogical approaches can create immersive and sustainable experiences for visitors, which go beyond mere historical education to embrace broader discussions about cultural identity and social values.

Abstract

The development of environmental values and pro-environmental behavior must begin from an early age, particularly within primary education. Schools, therefore, have a strategic role in shaping sustainable habits through educational interventions. This study aims to assess the need for educational programs that integrate green activities and to evaluate teachers’ and principals’ understanding of green consumer behavior. Using an Ex Post Facto research design and purposive sampling, data were collected from 32 fifth-grade teachers and 32 public primary school principals in Bandung, Indonesia. A validated Guttman-scale questionnaire was used, and data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results showed that all respondents recognized the importance of implementing green activities and instilling green consumer behavior. The gap between conceptual understanding and classroom practice—particularly among teachers—indicates a need for more targeted capacity-building. This study highlights the importance of developing integrated, project-based, and contextually relevant learning models to promote environmental literacy and responsible consumption, contributing to the broader goals of environmental education and character development.

Abstract

Cikondang Traditional Village has a rich culture and local wisdom that still maintains traditions, customs and cultural practices. This research aims to develop an inclusive social studies learning model by utilizing Cikondang Traditional Village as a natural and cultural laboratory. The method in this research uses a mixed methods approach, which is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. This approach allows researchers to obtain comprehensive and in-depth data on the effectiveness of the developed learning model. The results showed that integrating the local potential of Cikondang Traditional Village into social studies learning can provide a more contextual, authentic, and meaningful learning experience for students. In addition, social studies learning currently also faces problems of inequality of access and inclusiveness. Students with different social, economic and cultural backgrounds often do not get equal opportunities to participate and understand the subject matter well. Thus, innovation is needed in social studies learning that not only makes the subject matter more relevant and contextual, but also inclusive for all learners through natural and cultural laboratories that actually exist in the community, namely the Cikondang traditional village.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of social media etiquette through the implementation of the project-based learning (PjBL) model. The research method used was classroom action research, consisting of two cycles, each including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 10 students at SMK Negeri Tegalwaru Purwakarta. In the pre-cycle stage, only 30% of students had an adequate understanding of the material. After implementing the PjBL model, observations showed an improvement in student engagement, shifting from the "fair" and "poor" categories in Cycle I to the "good" and "very good" categories in Cycle II. The test results also showed a significant increase, with only 60% of students meeting the minimum competency standard (KKM ≥ 75) in Cycle I, while in Cycle II, all students (100%) achieved this score. The implementation of PjBL effectively enhanced student participation, confidence, and understanding of social media etiquette. Therefore, this learning model is recommended for Islamic education to improve students' digital literacy in a more contextual manner.

Abstract

Cultural literacy is an essential competence for students in the 21st century to navigate globalization while preserving regional cultural identity. The lack of students’ knowledge and concern for local culture can weaken national character values. This study aims to analyze the cultural literacy skills of primary school students in science, environment, technology, and society (IPAS) learning, focusing on conceptual understanding, knowledge of one’s own culture, and the implementation of cultural awareness. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method involving 30 fifth-grade primary school students as research subjects. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires, then analyzed using SPSS version 26 to determine the mean, maximum-minimum values, validity, reliability, and normality tests. The results showed that all instruments were valid and reliable, and the data were normally distributed. Based on the average results, 60% of students were categorized as moderate and 40% as low in their cultural literacy skills through the test, while the questionnaire results showed 66.7% moderate and 33.3% low. These findings suggest the importance of developing adaptive, culture-based learning models to enhance cultural literacy skills among primary school students.
