Abstract

Background: Impaired trophoblast invasion is associated with early abortion. The calorie needed for the trophoblast cell (TC) invasion is mainly met by adenosine triphosphate (ATP) produced in the mitochondria. Reactive oxygen species (ROS), byproduct of ATP synthesis, plays an important role in cellular physiology, but a high level of ROS may result in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage or cell dysfunction, thereby impaired TC invasion leading to early abortion. The study aims to determine elevated serum ROS level to predicts early abortion.Materials and method: This was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. Fifty subjects with gestational age less than 12 weeks, consist of 25 early abortions and 25 normal pregnancies subjects, were included in this study. Clinical examination and diagnosis are carried out in 2 Hospitals and 5 Public Health Centers in Padang. Examination of ROS levels was carried out by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in the Biomedical Laboratory, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Andalas. The Mann-Whitney test was used to analyze the difference of serum ROS levels, with a significance level of 0.05.Results: The subjects of the two study groups were equivalent in terms of age, gestational age, and gravidity (p=0.051, p=0.453, and p=1.000). The median ROS levels were found to be 1.36 (1.02-26.30) ng/mL in the early abortion and 1.20 (0.43-2.75) ng/mL in the normal pregnancy (p=0.003).Conclusion: There is a significant difference between ROS levels in early abortion and normal pregnancy. Keywords: ROS, early abortion, normal pregnancy

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract- The government’s supply chain management (SCM) system is not adequately implemented in state-owned enterprises (SOEs). There are weaknesses in the SOEs SCM enablers, strategies, policy implementation and poor enforcement of government SCM rules and regulations. This purpose of this study to determinant between government ownership (GOV), insider ownership (INSIDER) and bank dummy (Dbank) on company financial performance. In this study, financial performance is measured by return on equity (ROE). The population and sample consists of 20 government companies in Indonesian Public Listed. The period of this study is from 2013 to 2017. The results showed the GOV and INSIDER variables have an effect on ROE while the Dbank variable does not affect the company's financial performance. GOV negative influence on ROE. This shows government political motives. In addition, government-owned companies may have lower profits because they finance a project that does not bring financial gain but brings social benefits. INSIDER positive influence on ROE. This shows managerial ownership will encourage management to improve company performance, because they also have a company.

Abstract

Hemoglobin is one of the most important parts of blood in pregnant women because hemoglobin supplies oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, including the fetus a mother is carrying. If the hemoglobin level is outside of the normal range, newborn babies will have abnormal anthropometric features and APGAR scores. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between hemoglobin in pregnant women with anthropometry and APGAR score of newborns. This study uses a retrospective analytics method and is supported by statistical analysis using the Pearson correlation test to obtain the relationship of independent variables with dependent variables. From 100 patient data taken, we found a significant relationship with a weak correlation for the relationship of hemoglobin of pregnant women with infant weight, a significant relationship with a weak correlation for the relationship of hemoglobin of pregnant women with body length, a significant relationship with a weak correlation for the relationship of pregnant women with the circumference of a baby's head, a significant association with a weak correlation for the relationship of hemoglobin in pregnant women with an APGAR score of 5 ', and a meaningful relationship with a weak correlation for an association of hemoglobin in a pregnant woman with an APGAR score of 10'. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between hemoglobin in third trimester pregnant women with anthropometry and APGAR score of newborns.
