Abstract

The mental health of madrasah teachers is a crucial issue often overlooked behind narratives of piety and devotion. This study aims to uncover the phenomenon of toxic positivity labeled as worship and deconstruct the meaning of "amanah" (trustworthiness) often misused in human resource management in madrasahs. Using a library research method with a Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) approach, this study examines literature on psychology, Islamic education management, and religious texts to identify how religious jargon is used to suppress valid teacher complaints regarding workload and well-being. The findings indicate that toxic positivity in the madrasah environment often manipulates the concepts of "patience" and "sincerity" to normalize labor exploitation, while the meaning of "amanah" has been hegemonized into a one-way obligation from teachers to institutions without fair reciprocity. Through theological deconstruction, this study reformulates the concept of amanah into "bilateral amanah" which integrates the principles of justice ('adl) and self-preservation (hifz al-nafs). This reconstruction offers a new management paradigm where emotional validation and setting work boundaries are viewed as part of worship and an absolute prerequisite for sustainable quality education.

Abstract

Governance of Islamic educational institutions currently faces serious challenges regarding professionalism, accountability, and transparency, which often clash with practices of nepotism and inefficient management. This study aims to construct a foundation for Islamic education governance based on Quranic values by examining QS. an-Nisā’ (4):58. Using a qualitative library research method with a thematic exegesis (tafsir maudhu’i) approach combined with educational management analysis, this study explores classical and contemporary interpretations of the concepts of amanah (trust) and justice. The findings indicate that the transformation of the concept of amanah within the context of educational management yields principles of meritocracy in human resource recruitment (professionalism), transparency in fund and asset management (accountability), and curriculum integrity (intellectual trust). Meanwhile, the concept of justice (al-‘adl) transforms into objectivity in decision-making, distributive justice in the compensation system (equity), and equitable access to education (inclusivity). The synthesis of these two values forms a model of Good Islamic Governance or Prophetic Educational Governance, where theological spirit is integrated into practical managerial instruments as the main pillars of quality assurance in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to construct the concept of micro-leadership in madrasah management based on the managerial analysis of the Hadith regarding the obligation to appoint a leader among three travelers. Using a qualitative library research method with a hadith commentary approach and organizational behavior analysis, this study finds that the hadith is not merely travel ethics but a theological foundation for forming effective functional work units. The results indicate that the principle of one leader for three people aligns with span of control and agile leadership theories, recommending the formation of small teams (3–5 members) with a single chain of command to enhance decision-making speed and accountability. The practical implication of this research offers a madrasah organizational structure model that decentralizes authority at the micro-level to overcome bureaucratic inefficiencies and ambiguity in committee responsibilities.

Abstract

The concepts of reward and punishment are understood as educational strategies aimed at shaping students’ behavior and character. In the tradition of Islamic education, these principles are recognized through the concepts of targhīb (reward) and tarhīb (punishment), which are rooted in the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This article is designed to analyze the concepts of reward and punishment in hadith tarbawi by referring to three primary hadiths, while also examining their relevance to contemporary educational practices. A qualitative approach was employed in this study using a library research method. The findings indicate that reward in the hadith tradition emphasizes spiritual and moral dimensions, whereas punishment is implemented gradually, proportionally, and based on the principle of gentleness. These concepts are considered relevant to reinforcement theory in modern educational psychology; however, within the hadith perspective, they encompass broader ethical and transcendental dimensions. Therefore, the integration of hadith tarbawi values is viewed as capable of strengthening humanistic educational practices oriented toward character development.

Abstract

This study examines wage justice in Islamic educational institutions through an analysis of the Prophetic hadith “Give the worker his wages before his sweat dries” (HR. Ibn Majah) and its relevance to contemporary human resource management. The study is motivated by persistent issues such as delayed wage payments, inadequate compensation, and structural inequalities affecting educators.Using a qualitative approach with a library research design, this study integrates normative analysis of hadith and fiqh literature with contemporary theories of organizational justice, including distributive, procedural, and temporal justice. The findings reveal that the hadith embodies a multidimensional framework of wage justice that aligns with modern management theory while extending it through ethical and spiritual accountability. However, a significant gap persists between these normative principles and institutional practices, driven by managerial limitations, structural inequality, and cultural narratives that undermine professionalism. In response, this study proposes an integrative model of fair wage management based on competence, welfare adequacy (kifayah), timely payment systems, and transparent contractual governance. The study concludes that wage justice in Islam constitutes an institutional obligation that must be operationalized within organizational systems. The proposed model offers both theoretical and practical contributions by bridging Islamic ethical principles with contemporary management practices. Future research is recommended to empirically validate the model across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This study analyzes the concept of interaction between teachers and students from the perspective of the Qur'an through a thematic exegesis of QS. Al-Kahf [18]: 60–82, which tells the story of the meeting of the Prophet Moses and Khidr. The purpose of this study is to identify pedagogical values that represent the educational relationship of the Qur'an and its relevance to the paradigm of contemporary Islamic education. The approach used is a qualitative literature study based on primary sources of classical and contemporary interpretations, as well as the latest research in the field of Islamic education. The analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify the main themes in the interaction between Moses and Khidr. The results of the study show that the relationship between teachers and students in the story displays three main values from the student's perspective, namely tawadhu' (humility), sabar (steadfastness in learning), and taat (obedience to the teacher's guidance). From the teacher's perspective, the principles of hikmah (wisdom), tadarruj (gradual method), and amanah ilmu (ethics in conveying knowledge) were found. These values form a framework for Qur'anic pedagogy that balances the cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions in the learning process. Research findings also indicate that the story of Moses and Khidr is relevant to modern pedagogical concepts such as mentoring models, experiential learning, and scaffolding within the zone of proximal development (ZPD). The interaction between the two emphasizes that education, from a Qur'anic perspective, is not merely the transfer of knowledge but rather the process of developing wisdom, character, and etiquette. Thus, Surah Al-Kahf (18:60–82) can be used as a conceptual model for Islamic education based on Qur'anic values, oriented toward the formation of intellectually intelligent, spiritually mature, and socially noble human beings.
