Abstract

Abstract. Final year students are at the transition stage where students are already required to be able to determine the type of work that suits their interests. On the other hand, the issue of career maturity is still a discussion at the level of students who should be more mature in determining their interests and goals for the future. future time perspective serves as a motivation for a person to engage in activities that can help achieve future results. A person who has a future perspective can see that they have a great opportunity in the future, besides that they will try harder to achieve their goals by improving and developing the skills they currently have. The purpose of this study is to examine how the influence of future time perspective variables on career maturity variables in final year students in Bandung. Type of causality research with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 389 final year students aged between 18-25 years in Bandung. Hasna Putri's career maturity scale research measurement tool that refers to Super's theory and the FTP-I scale designed by Lang et al. (2002) which was later adapted by Medellu et al. (2020). The results of data analysis indicate that the FTP variable affects the career maturity variable by 43.2% and 56.8% is influenced by other variables. In addition, seen based on the results of the analysis using simple linear regression shows the positive direction of FTP on career maturity. The suggestion for this research is that students can participate in many activities, both on campus and outside, for example participating in internships, organizations, or hobbies that they like, in order to help students better understand their own interests and abilities.

Abstract

Abstract. Future anxiety is a psychological problem that tends to emerge in their twenties or during their college years. Future anxiety can impact their mental health and academic and non-academic performance. Trait mindfulness, which is defined as the ability to be aware of thoughts, feelings, and sensations in the present moment with an attitude of acceptance and non-judgement of self experience. Trait mindfulness can act as one of the protective factors against future anxiety, helping individuals to manage stress more effectively and face life's challenges with a calm and mindful attitude. This study aims to examine the role of trait mindfulness on future anxiety among university students in Bandung City. This study used a non-experimental quantitative approach with a cross-sectional research design. Participants consisted of 339 students from various universities in Bandung City with Convenience sampling technique. Trait mindfulness was measured using the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ), developed by Baer et al. (2006) and adapted by Meindy et al. (2022). Future anxiety was measured using a measuring instrument constructed by Syams et al. (2023), based on the theories and concepts developed by Hammad (2016). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression techniques. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of trait mindfulness on future anxiety in university students in Bandung City with a contribution of 12.7%. The results of this study indicate the need for a more in-depth approach in understanding how trait mindfulness plays a role in future anxiety in university students. Mindfulness-based interventions may need to be adjusted to be more effective in the context of college students. Abstrak. Abstract

Abstract. Locus of Control pertains to individuals' beliefs about the factors that shape their lives, whether these are internal, such as personal confidence, or external, like the influence of others or luck. Career Maturity, in contrast, evaluates how prepared someone is to make sound career decisions, considering elements like career planning, exploration, understanding of the working world, and decision-making skills. The issue of insufficient Career Maturity among college graduates in Bandung underscores the need to explore whether Locus of Control plays a role in this area. This study targeted fresh graduates in Bandung, using convenience sampling to collect data from 315 respondents through questionnaires. The study utilized Career Maturity measures from Super, refined by Sartika (2003) and re-evaluated by Hakim (2022), alongside the IPC Locus of Control Scale by Levenson, adapted by Faizah, Nasehudin, & Nurizzati (2023). Employing multiple linear regression analysis within a quantitative framework, the research found that Locus of Control has a 67% positive effect on Career Maturity, with the internal dimension having the strongest influence (β = 0.371).

Abstract

Abstract

Previous research has highlighted bullying as a significant issue in Indonesia, with a notable increase in cyberbullying among adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic, adversely affecting their psychological well-being. However, there has been limited discussion on bullying in the post-COVID-19 era. This study has three aims. The first is to examine the subjective well-being (SWB) of children who have either experienced bullying or have not been bullied after the pandemic. The second is to assess the occurrence of both traditional bullying (involving siblings and at school) and cyberbullying in Indonesia following COVID-19. The third aim is to investigate the factors linked to these forms of bullying post-pandemic. The participants were middle school students (N = 943; 57.2% girls, 45.0% in grade 7). The Children's Worlds Subjective Well-Being Scale with five items (CW-SWBS5) was employed to assess children's SWB. Separate measures were utilized for traditional and cyberbullying. Six factors—family, school climate, personal satisfaction, friendships, safety, and social media usage—were analyzed as independent variables using linear regression to determine their impact on bullying forms. The structural equation model (SEM) was applied to evaluate how these bullying types affect SWB. The findings revealed that sibling bullying and cyberbullying significantly influenced children’s SWB, with girls reporting lower SWB scores than boys. Cyberbullying emerged as the most prevalent form of bullying post-pandemic. A positive school climate was found to shield children from bullying. Cummins' theory of well-being homeostasis was employed to interpret the results. This study also discussed implications for educators and parents.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to shut down their operations and shift to digital platforms to survive and ensure their business continues. Hence, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have undergone an accelerated digital transformation to adopt technological innovations. The research aimed to identify the factors that encouraged and hindered digital innovation in MSMEs during economic destabilization, focusing on the perspectives of young entrepreneurs in Makassar City. Qualitative methods were used, involving in-depth interviews with 25 young entrepreneurs in Makassar City to explore the positive and negative impacts of transitioning to digital platforms post-pandemic. Data analysis was conducted using the inductive content analysis method. The results show that digital innovation in MSMEs after the pandemic is influenced by external factors (market and demand restrictions) and internal factors (personal and professional development). The limited financing, technology, and management of MSMEs compared to large enterprises make them more vulnerable to post-pandemic bankruptcy. Barriers faced in running businesses post-pandemic include market challenges on digital platforms, the need for necessary skills, and infrastructure availability. The implications of these findings are expected to develop programs that support young entrepreneurs and provide recommendations for the government in formulating policies and strategies to encourage digital entrepreneurship, especially in developing countries after the current pandemic.

Abstract

This article aims to determine the impact of education management reforms on school autonomy in encouraging collaboration and competition between schools conducted in Jakarta, Bogor, and Bekasi. This qualitative case study research was conducted over two months using data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. Semi-structured face-to-face interviews were conducted with 12 school principals in Jakarta, Bogor, and Bekasi, who were selected using purposeful sampling. Data analysis used triangulation techniques. The results showed that government decisions related to school autonomy and similar matters significantly influence relationships (collaboration and competition) between schools. The implications of these findings trigger a discussion on the impact of education management reforms aimed at increasing school autonomy in the context of school-to-school relationships. This study showed that educational management associated with school autonomy significantly influences relationships between schools. Decreasing the role of the state and increasing school autonomy exert different effects on school-to-school relationships depending on the governance model adopted. This study also shows that the experience of school collaboration and competition depends largely on the current policy of reorganizing school networks in cities and districts.

Abstract

Strawberries, which are closely associated with the Ciwidey District in West Java, pass through a supply chain that includes numerous stakeholders, from farmers to retailers. This complex chain results in significant price disparities and lowers farmers' profits. This study aims to analyse the value chain and price disparity of strawberry commodities in Ciwidey District, Bandung Regency, West Java. The value chain analysis method is used to understand and improve the way a product or service generates value, and Hayami's analysis is used to calculate the added value for each actor in this supply chain. Based on the results of the analysis, the value chain of strawberry commodities in Ciwidey District obtained parties/actors that play a role in this supply chain, such as farmers, who act as producers of the strawberry cultivation process. Small collectors who collect the strawberry harvest directly from the farmers do the sorting and grading and sell it to large collectors. Large collectors act as traders who collect the strawberry harvest and distribute the sales more widely. Retailers act as traders who sell strawberries to consumers. The added value obtained by farmers is Rp 300.01/kg, small collectors Rp 6,345.67/kg, large collectors Rp 14,799.29/kg, and retailers Rp 18,224.8/kg. In this strawberry commodity value chain, the disparity value from the farmer to the consumer level is Rp 63,550/kg. The implications of this study provide insight into market dynamics and offer a basis for improvements and interventions that can help all parties, especially in improving the economic conditions of farmers. The strawberry supply chain's complexity impacts various actors differently. Farmers suffer reduced profits due to price disparities, while retailers gain from price markups. Consumers experience price variability. This study highlights the need for interventions to streamline the supply chain, reduce intermediaries, and improve farmers' economic conditions.
