Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to identify how students’ perception of the "Speak English with Zach" Video podcast is essential for optimizing its use as an educational tool, especially for speaking practice. Methodology: In this study, rsearchers used mixed methods, descriptive quantitative and qualitative. Researcher used questionnaires and interviews as data collection methods. The participants in this questionnaire were 54 students and ten students from the Interpersonal Speaking class at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The object of this research is some videos from the podcast "Speak English with Zach" used as assignments in Interpersonal Speaking classes. Results: The data gathered from questionnaires and interviews showed that students' perceptions of using video podcasts for English-speaking practice were positive. As a medium for improving English language skills, students feel that videos can improve speaking skills and pronunciation, increase vocabulary and fluency in English, improve intonation and grammar, and increase their confidence. It is also found out about the difficulties that students experienced, such as the duration and script of the video, which made students less free to express themselves. Applications/Originality/Value: The research findings can help educators, curriculum designers, and podcast creators modify and improve the content of educational vodcasts for better learning outcomes.

Abstract

The management of Sri Gethuk Waterfall which is managed by the Tourism Village Business Unit under the Village-Owned Enterprise "Sejahtera" Bleberan Village is quite successful because it has an impact on the number of visitors which increased significantly from 2011-2015 impacting on Village Original Income (PADesa) of Bleberan tourism village. This study aims to unveil the management of Sri Gethuk Waterfall tourism object. This type of research is qualitative descriptive, which means exposure of situations and events, describing in detail and in depth the conditions that actually occur according to what is in the field which in this case is about the management activities of Village-Owned Enterprise Sejahtera in Bleberan Village. Management of Sri Gethuk Waterfall Tourism Object by Village-Owned Enterprise Sejahtera starting from the bottom up planning stage of development . Village-Owned Enterprise should continue to encourage changes in terms of planning, especially the management of business units also needs good management. Push management system through one door. This will make access easier and speed up the service.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSelama ini pembengkokan rotan yang dilakukan oleh IKM Mebel Rotan dengan memanaskan di atas api kompor menggunakan alat pembengkok catok. Hasil yang diperoleh memberikan noda kehitaman. Cara lain dengan memasukkan rotan ke dalam alat steam dari besi, namun terdapat kendala persebaran uap yang tidak merata karena kurangnya rongga di antara tumpukan rotan selain terkena noda karat dari tabung steamer. Permasalahan tersebut dapat diatasi dengan modifikasi alat steam yang didesain multi guna, dapat melunakkan rotan dengan uap basah dalam tabung steamer dan uap kering yang disemprotkan pada permukaan rotan. Keunggulan alat ini adalah lebih efektif, tepat guna, multiguna, proses lebih cepat, konstruksi sederhana, mudah dan aman pengoperasiannya. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu survei lapangan dan literatur, perancangan desain, pengadaan bahan, pembuatan alat, uji coba alat, finishing alat, evaluasi dan pelaporan. Uji coba alat dengan variabel penampang rotan 2,4 cm, 2,8 cm, 3,2 cm dan waktu pengukusan 5 menit, 10 menit, dan 15 menit, dengan suhu ketel uap dan tabung steamer 110 o C, tekanan maksimum 2 bar (kg/cm2). Hasil yang diperoleh berupa 1 unit alat steam untuk pebengkok rotan terdiri dari: Pemanas, Ketel uap stainless steel spesifikasi standar JIS G 3116-2000, volume 118 lt, tabung steamer Grade SUS 340, bak perendaman dan meja bending. Hasil uji coba paling baik dengan waktu pengukusan 15 menit, rotan tidak pecah, tidak retak maupun tidak gembos, untuk semua  variabel diameter. Dapat membengkokkan rotan bentuk U, Ω,setengah lingkaran dan spiral. Uji coba uap kering memberikan hasil optimal dengan waktu penyemprotan lebih dari 20 menit. The purpose of this study was to modify steamer that is designed multi-purpose steam, can soften rattan with wet steam in a steamer tube, can also be sprayed with dry steam on the rattan surfaces. The method is carried out field survey and literature, design planning, procurement of materials, manufacturing equipment, testing equipment, finishing equipment, evaluation and reporting. The test tool with rattan variable crosssection of 2,4 cm, 2,8 cm 3,2 cm and a steaming rattan 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes, with boiler and steamer tube temperature 110° C, 2 bar maximum pressure (kg / cm2). Results obtained in the form of 1 unit Steam Tool For Bending Rattan consists of: Heating, Steam boiler stainless steel base material JIS G 3116-2000 standard specifications, 118 liter of volume, steam tube SUS 340 Grade, soaking tub and bending table. The trial results are best with a steaming time of 15 minutes, rattan is not broken, no cracking or not deflated, for all variable diameter. Can bend U shape rattan, Ω, semi-circular and spiral. Dry steam trials with great results at the time of spraying is greater than 20 minutes.Keywords: steamer, furniture, bending, rattan

Abstract

Industri tekstil kerajinan dan batik dalam mengevaluasi ketidakseragaman kualitas, dilakukan pengujian perbedaan warna pada produk yang dihasilkan. Kekeliruan penilaian hasil pengujian dapat diminimalisasi apabila ada sarana kotak penilaian yang menjaga standar penyinaran yang meneranginya.            Penilaian perbedaan warna dilakukan pada kekuatan penerangan 50 feet candle atau lebih. Penerangan tersebut dapat disubtitusikan cahaya lampu listrik setara dengan 62.849, 7 Lumen yang terdisi dari penggabungan warna ungu (violet), biru, putih dan kuning jingga.Meja evaluasi direncanakan berupa berbagai warna sinar lampu listrik pada suatu ruangan yang kemudian dilewatkan pada kaca pembesar sinar. Hasil sinar pada jarak tertentu dipakai untuk menyinari hasil pengujian perbedaan warna yang akan dinilai.            Pembuatan meja diawali dari bagian boks pengumpulan sinar yang berada di atas meja evaluasi dan bertumpu pada empat tiang penyangga. Pengerjaan pembuatannya sesuai aturan teknik pengerjaan yang berlaku.Hasil unjuk kerja peralatan terlihat bahwa sinar yang dihasilkan dapat menyinari contoh uji pada setiap sudut meja tanpa menimbulkan bayangan. Abstract

Motor induksi dengan kecepatan yang hamper konstan, banyak digunakan di dalam industri. Motor induksi ini sering memerlukan perubahan kecepaan putar yang halus dengan daerah pengaturan yang luas. Hal tersebut dapat dilakukan bila digunakan motor induksi jenis rotor lilit, namun konstruksinya sulit dan harganya mahal. Motor induksi yang paling banyak dipakai adalah jenis sangkar tupai di mana cara pengaturan kecepatannya yang paling sesuai adalah dengan mengubah frekuensi catu dayanya. Rekayasa dilakukan dengan membuat catu daya dengan daya yang cukup dan dapat diatur frekuensinya. Peralatan terdiri dari penyearah, penapis, inverter, osilator dan transformator, denga tegangan sumber 220 VAC, 50 Hx disearahkan kemudian diubah menjadi tegangan bolak-balik kembali dengan frekuensi yang dapat diatur. Motor induksi yang dipakai jenis running capacitor dengan daya 120 watt, tegangan 220 VAC, arus 0,7 A, frekuensi 50 Hz dan putaran 2900 rpm. Dari pengujian diketahui bahwa peralatan dapat berfungsi dengan baik walaupun ditemukan beberapa kesulian namun arus ke motor cukup stabil sekalipun kecepatan putar motor diubah-ubah. Jangkauan putaran motor yang diperoleh adalah dari 133 rpm dengan frekuensi 12 Hz sampai dengan 2200 rpm pada frekuensi 70 Hz saat beban penuh. Kata kunci: motor induksi, pengaturan kecepatan, frekuensi

Abstract

The challenge faced by fishermen involved in lobster fishing is the decline in population due to overfishing and unsustainable practices. Intensive lobster fishing can disrupt the balance of the ecosystem, especially if the fishing gear used is not environmentally friendly. Lost fishing gear can continue to catch lobsters and other species unintentionally, a phenomenon known as ghost fishing. The methods applied in this research include literature review and experimental design. The literature review was conducted by examining data and the development of lobster traps from research publications and various books related to fishing. The analysis of the development of existing trap designs before the modification process is a key factor in selecting the standard trap design. This aims to develop lobster traps that are selective for legal sizes. The tiered wall trap has two entrances, one at the top in the shape of a cylinder with a width of 15 cm and a length of 20 cm, cylindrical in shape and without any hole patterns. It is expected that the trapped lobsters will not be able to escape because the length of the entrance itself is longer than the leg size of the catchable lobsters, where lobsters with a carapace length of 8.3 cm have a front leg length of 8 cm, making it impossible for the caught lobsters to climb out. The design of the tiered wall trap with a perforated pattern on the base of the trap at 8 cm is expected to allow catchable lobsters to climb into the trap's mouth. The tiered walls help lobsters to easily climb up to the mouth, thereby increasing the effectiveness and selectivity of the trap for catchable-sized lobsters. However, this design still needs to be tested in lobster catching areas or in laboratory scale.

Abstract

Sausages are a popular food item in Indonesia, often sold by vendors along the roadside or in wheelbarrows. However, this selling method carries a risk of contamination, which can lead to spoilage. While synthetic preservatives can help, they may also pose health risks to consumers. The addition of natural ingredients, such as senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum L.) leaf powder (SLP), into sausage production, can be an alternative solution. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of SLP on the oxidation, microbial content, and physical properties of beef sausages.  This study used a Completely Randomized Design with varying concentrations of SLP (0%, 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5% w/w) across four replications. The Thiobarbituric Acid (TBA) number, Total Plate Count (TPC), pH, cooking yield, water holding capacity (WHC), tenderness, and folding test were determined. The results demonstrated that adding SLP effectively reduced both the TBA number and the total plate count in the sausages at all tested concentrations. It also lowered the pH on the first day of storage and decreased the water holding capacity (WHC) when added at a concentration of 1.5%. Additionally, it influenced the results of the folding test. However, no significant differences were observed in the cooking yield and tenderness of the sausages. In conclusion, the addition of SLP into sausage production can effectively reduce oxidation and microbial content in beef sausages.

Abstract

Background: Kesenjangan pembelajaran Seni Budaya di SMP Kota Tanjungbalai terlihat dari masih dominannya perangkat manual, minimnya teknologi digital, dan kurang optimalnya integrasi tradisi lokal Melayu. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis digital yang terintegrasi dengan muatan lokal seni musik, tari, dan rupa khas Melayu, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih inovatif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan zaman. Metode: Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahapan persiapan, pelatihan, pendampingan, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Kegiatan melibatkan 23 guru Seni Budaya dari SMP negeri dan swasta di Kota Tanjungbalai. Tahap pelatihan menghadirkan narasumber sesuai bidang keahlian (musik, tari, rupa, teknologi), sementara tahap pendampingan difokuskan pada penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran digital yang dimasukkan ke dalam platform daring. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan instrumen berupa lembar observasi, angket, rubrik penilaian, dan wawancara. Hasil: Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran digital berbasis muatan lokal. Guru yang sebelumnya hanya menggunakan media manual kini mampu mengembangkan perangkat dalam bentuk game edukasi, modul digital, media interaktif, hingga website pembelajaran. Inovasi utama dari program ini adalah peluncuran situs web khusus yang menampung perangkat pembelajaran digital hasil karya guru, sehingga dapat diakses secara fleksibel oleh guru dan siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using miniature kelong media in improving the learning outcomes of junior high school students on the subject of mass density. Miniature kelong is a local wisdom-based learning medium that represents the structure of traditional fishing gear in the coastal area of Bintan Regency. The study used a mixed methods approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two classes: an experimental class taught using miniature kelong media and a control class taught conventionally. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, then analyzed using t-tests and normalized gain. The results showed that the average increase in learning outcomes (normalized gain) in the experimental class was much higher than in the control class. The t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups. These findings prove that the kelong miniature media is effective in improving student learning outcomes because it is able to present the abstract concept of density in a concrete, contextual, and meaningful way through a local cultural approach. The implications of this study support the integration of local wisdom in science learning to improve the quality of education in coastal areas.

Abstract

The study used a mixed methods approach with a quasi-experimental design involving two classes: an experimental class taught using miniature kelong media and a control class taught conventionally. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, then analyzed using t-tests and normalized gain. The results showed that the average increase in learning outcomes (normalized gain) in the experimental class was much higher than in the control class. The t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups. These findings prove that the kelong miniature media is effective in improving student learning outcomes because it is able to present the abstract concept of density in a concrete, contextual, and meaningful way through a local cultural approach. The implications of this study support the integration of local wisdom in science learning to improve the quality of education in coastal areas.
