Abstract

This study aimed to determine the knowledge, action, perception, and attitude of landfill managers and community to Talangagung landfill program as an edu-tourism destination in Malang. Talangagung landfill became one of the best examples of waste management in Indonesia. This study used a quantitative approach by conducting field observations and questionnaire survey for data collecting. Questionnaires were distributed to community around landfill to assessed waste management in Talangagung landfill as an edu-tourism attraction. The data obtained was analyzed descriptive quantitatively by using Likert scale. The results showed that landfill manager and community had good knowledge about waste management practices based on environmental conservation principles. This was in line with the action, perception, attitude of landfill managers and community that supported the government program. The average Likert score of observed indicators indicated that respondents' answers were in the 'high level' category with a score of 3.92. It means respondents had a positive response to the questions posed by the researcher based on conditions in the field. Synergy and cooperation between landfill managers and community were one of the keys to support the success and sustainability of edu-tourism program in Talangagung landfill.Keywords: community, edu-tourism, landfill management, perspective.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has opened up opportunities for students to access various risky content, including online gambling, which can have serious impacts on morals and character development. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), this issue is crucial because it contradicts Islamic values ​​that emphasize good morals, piety, and social responsibility. This study aims to explore the influence of online gambling on students' morals, the factors that encourage students to engage in online gambling, and how Islamic Education plays a role in preventing and mitigating these effects. The method used in this study was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following PRISMA guidelines. The literature search was conducted using several trusted databases with publication dates between 2020 and 2025. Of the 138 articles found, 20 met the inclusion criteria and were systematically analyzed. The study findings indicate that online gambling significantly weakens the values ​​of honesty, trustworthiness, discipline, and responsibility, reduces the quality of worship and piety, undermines social ethics, and hinders the formation of Islamic character. The main factors contributing to student involvement are psychological pressure, peer influence, easy access to technology, lack of supervision from parents and teachers, and the desire for quick profits. The study's conclusion confirms that Islamic Religious Education plays a crucial role in preventing online gambling through strengthening moral values, spiritual approaches, innovations in Islamic-based digital learning, and collaboration between schools, families, and the social environment in fostering student character in the digital age. ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi digital telah membuka kesempatan bagi siswa untuk mengakses berbagai konten berisiko, termasuk perjudian online, yang dapat memberikan dampak serius terhadap moral dan pembentukan karakter. Dalam konteks Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), masalah ini sangat penting karena bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai keislaman yang menekankan pada akhlak baik, ketakwaan, dan tanggung jawab sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh perjudian online terhadap moral siswa, faktor-faktor yang mendorong siswa terlibat dalam perjudian online, serta bagaimana Pendidikan Islam berperan dalam mencegah dan mengurangi efek tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan mengikuti pedoman PRISMA. Pencarian literatur dilakukan menggunakan beberapa database terpercaya dengan rentang waktu publikasi antara tahun 2020 dan 2025. Dari 138 artikel yang ditemukan, ada 20 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan dianalisis secara sistematis. Temuan penelitian menyatakan bahwa perjudian online secara signifikan melemahkan nilai-nilai kejujuran, amanah, disiplin, dan tanggung jawab, mengurangi kualitas ibadah dan ketakwaan, merusak etika sosial, serta menghalangi pembentukan karakter Islami. Faktor utama yang menyebabkan keterlibatan siswa adalah dorongan psikologis, pengaruh teman, kemudahan akses teknologi, kurangnya pengawasan dari orang tua dan guru, serta motivasi untuk mendapatkan keuntungan dengan cepat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa Pendidikan Agama Islam memiliki peran penting dalam mencegah perjudian online melalui penguatan nilai akhlak, pendekatan spiritual, inovasi dalam pembelajaran digital yang berbasis nilai Islami, serta kolaborasi antara sekolah, keluarga, dan lingkungan sosial dalam pembinaan karakter siswa di era digital.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of gamification in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning on Generation Z students’ learning motivation in the digital era. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA guidelines. Data were collected from various scientific databases, including Scopus, Google Scholar, SINTA, and Publish or Perish, covering publications from 2020 to 2025. Out of 225 identified articles, 16 studies met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth. The findings indicate that gamification in IRE learning is understood as the integration of game elements, such as points, levels, challenges, and reward systems, into the learning process without diminishing Islamic values. Gamification has been proven effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation and interest, participation and engagement, understanding of IRE materials, as well as fostering Islamic attitudes and character development. Commonly applied gamification strategies involve the use of digital platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS), with teachers playing a key role as instructional designers aligned with pedagogical objectives. However, several challenges were identified, including limited teacher digital competence and inadequate infrastructure. Therefore, educational policy support, infrastructure development, and continuous teacher professional training are essential to optimize the sustainable implementation of gamification in IRE learning within the digital era. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) terhadap motivasi belajar generasi Z di era digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan mengacu pada pedoman PRISMA. Data diperoleh dari berbagai basis data ilmiah seperti Scopus, Google Scholar, SINTA, dan Publish or Perish dengan rentang publikasi tahun 2020–2025. Dari total 225 artikel yang teridentifikasi, sebanyak 16 artikel memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan dianalisis secara mendalam. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran PAI dipahami sebagai integrasi elemen permainan, seperti poin, level, tantangan, dan sistem penghargaan, ke dalam proses pembelajaran tanpa menghilangkan nilai-nilai keislaman. Penerapan gamifikasi terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan minat belajar, partisipasi dan keterlibatan peserta didik, pemahaman materi PAI, serta pembentukan sikap dan karakter Islami. Strategi gamifikasi yang banyak digunakan melibatkan pemanfaatan platform digital dan Learning Management System (LMS) dengan peran guru sebagai perancang pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada tujuan pedagogis. Meskipun demikian, penerapan gamifikasi masih menghadapi tantangan berupa keterbatasan kompetensi guru dan sarana prasarana. Oleh karena itu, dukungan kebijakan pendidikan, penguatan infrastruktur, serta peningkatan kompetensi guru menjadi faktor penting dalam mengoptimalkan penerapan gamifikasi dalam pembelajaran PAI di era digital.

Abstract

Arabic speaking proficiency (maharah al-kalam) continues to face pedagogical challenges, particularly in pronunciation, vocabulary, and contextual comprehension. This study aims to analyze the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in visual illustrations as instructional media to enhance Arabic speaking skills. Employing a systematic literature review method, the study examines 20 selected articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that AI-generated visual media significantly improve learners’ vocabulary acquisition, contextual understanding, and engagement in speaking activities. The study implies that AI can be effectively utilized as a pedagogical tool to promote more interactive and context-based Arabic instruction. Its primary contribution lies in proposing a visually oriented AI approach, distinguishing it from previous research that largely focused on text-based applications or chatbot systems.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), aiming to enhance learning outcomes and address challenges in adapting to modern educational demands. Using a literature review methodology, this research synthesizes studies published between 2015 and 2023, focusing on the effectiveness of ICT tools, the types of digital resources used in PAI, and the barriers faced by educators in implementing these technologies. The findings indicate that ICT significantly improves student engagement, motivation, and comprehension in PAI subjects, particularly through multimedia tools, mobile applications, and e-learning platforms. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, digital literacy among teachers, and the digital divide between urban and rural areas limit the widespread use of ICT in PAI classrooms. The study highlights the need for increased investments in infrastructure and continuous professional development for teachers to bridge these gaps. Additionally, it calls for policy support at both institutional and governmental levels to facilitate the integration of ICT in religious education. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the specific application of ICT in PAI, offering insights into how digital tools can modernize Islamic education while preserving its core values. The findings provide valuable recommendations for educators and policymakers to enhance ICT integration in PAI and ensure its effective use in the 21st century.

Abstract

21st century learning requires teachers to be able to involve communication and collaboration skills as well as the use of information technology in learning that can be arranged in a framework in the form of TPACK. There are 7 components that need to be known in TPACK, namely Technological Knowledge, Pedagogical Knowledge, Content Knowledge, Technological Pedagogical Knowledge, Technological Content Knowledge, Pedagogical Content Knowledge, and Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge. The purpose of this article is to describe 1) the concept of TPACK, and 2) the implementation of TPACK in learning arabic. The results of this study were 1) TPACK is a combination of three essential elements in learning a technology (technological knowledge) that can be used to facilitate the delivery of teaching materials, pedagogical (pedagogical knowledge) that includes methods and learning model that will be applied, and content (content knowledge) which contains learning materials, where the three elements can be arranged in a learning design. 2) Implementation of TPACK in Learning arabic is to combine all components of TPACK in the learning that will be implemented.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of Arabic speaking skills (maharah kalam) among Year 5 pupils at SD IT Tunas Insan Cendekia, characterised by a lack of confidence in speaking, limited vocabulary, and poor learning outcomes. The aim of this study was to examine the application of the role-play method in Arabic language teaching and to assess the improvement in pupils’ speaking skills following the implementation of this method. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches, conducted over two cycles. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, oral tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that students’ speaking skills improved in each cycle, as evidenced by the average score rising from 69 in the pre-cycle stage to 74.1 in Cycle I, and further increasing to 85.3 in Cycle II, with a mastery rate of 88%. Furthermore, the students appeared more active, confident, and bold in practising Arabic dialogue. Thus, the application of the role-play method proved effective in improving students’ Arabic speaking skills.

Abstract

This study presents a literature review of the use of the Duolingo Arabic application to develop maharah qira’ah (Arabic reading skills) through the integration of audiovisual and gamified learning approaches. The research used a qualitative literature review, analysing empirical and conceptual studies published between 2015 and 2025 on digital technology and Arabic language learning. Data were obtained from scholarly journals, proceedings, and academic databases such as Google Scholar, DOAJ, and ResearchGate, and analysed using content analysis to identify patterns, themes, and trends regarding the effectiveness of Duolingo Arabic in enhancing reading skills. The findings indicate that Duolingo Arabic significantly improves learners’ vocabulary mastery, literal comprehension, and reading fluency through its interactive audiovisual features and game-based reinforcement system. Moreover, the use of gamification elements such as points, levels, and instant feedback was found to increase learner motivation, engagement, and self-regulated learning behaviour. However, limitations were identified in addressing higher-level reading comprehension, including discourse interpretation and contextual understanding. The study concludes that Duolingo Arabic serves as an effective supplementary tool for foundational and intermediate levels of Arabic reading instruction, aligning with digital literacy frameworks and contemporary language pedagogy. Future research is recommended to empirically examine the long-term effects of AI-driven personalisation in Duolingo on deep reading comprehension

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating the Community Language Learning method and the Think Talk Write strategy in developing maharah kalam (Arabic speaking skills) through a systematic literature review of scholarly publications from 2020 to 2025. The main problem identified is students’ low fluency and lack of confidence in speaking Arabic, which stem from speech anxiety and insufficient cognitive structuring in the language production process. The research employs the Systematic Literature Review method, encompassing stages of exploration, selection, and thematic synthesis of fifteen peer-reviewed articles indexed in SINTA, DOAJ, and Google Scholar that are relevant to the implementation of Community Language Learning and Think Talk Write. The findings reveal that Community Language Learning effectively reduces the affective filter, enhances motivation, and fosters a humanistic and supportive learning environment. Meanwhile, Think Talk Write strengthens idea planning, speech cohesion, and linguistic production skills through the sequential phases of thinking, discussing, and writing. The synthesis of results indicates that the integration of these two approaches produces a significant affective-cognitive synergy: Community Language Learning mitigates emotional barriers, while Think Talk Write optimizes cognitive readiness and utterance structuring. This combination consistently enhances students’ fluency, coherence, and oral participation, although grammatical accuracy improvement still requires additional corrective feedback. It is concluded that the integrative model of Community Language Learning and Think Talk Write is a viable and innovative pedagogical framework for reinforcing the teaching of maharah kalam in a communicative, collaborative, and sustainable manner

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penggunaan media Wordwall Digital dalam meningkatkan penguasaan mufrodat siswa kelas VII MTsN 1 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experiment melalui model Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang diberikan perlakuan menggunakan media Wordwall Digital dan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional, dengan total 57 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes penguasaan mufrodat yang diberikan pada saat pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji nonparametrik Mann–Whitney U karena data tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan awal penguasaan mufrodat kedua kelas berada pada tingkat yang setara, dibuktikan dengan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,789 (>0,05). Setelah perlakuan diberikan, terjadi peningkatan penguasaan mufrodat yang lebih tinggi pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Hasil uji Mann–Whitney terhadap nilai N-Gain menunjukkan nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar ,000 (<0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan peningkatan yang signifikan antara kedua kelas. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Wordwall Digital efektif dalam meningkatkan penguasaan mufrodat siswa kelas VII MTsN 1 Bandar Lampung.
