Abstract

This study aims to analyze the internalization of the fathonah (intellectual excellence) character in strengthening students' critical reasoning through the reconstruction of the discovery learning model within Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) instruction at Al-Uswah Nature Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT), Pasuruan. Primary education currently faces the challenge of cognitive disruption due to the massive influx of unverified information, necessitating the reinforcement of high-integrity critical reasoning. This research employed a qualitative case study design, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving fourth-grade teachers and students. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, conducted simultaneously through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. To ensure data trustworthiness, technical triangulation, prolonged engagement, and peer debriefing were utilized. The research findings reveal that the internalization of prophetic values successfully transformed mechanistic cognitive procedures into transcendental learning experiences through the reconstruction of a five-phase syntax: (1) stimulation as initial tafakkur (reflection); (2) data collection as scientific amanah (trustworthiness); (3) data processing as a manifestation of itqan (precision/excellence); (4) verification as an act of theological tabayyun (validation); and (5) generalization as the formulation of hikmah (wisdom). The synthesis between fathonah values and Vygotsky’s Social Constructivism generates a "character ecosystem" where the scaffolding process provides not only cognitive support but also axiological assistance through the shared language of the classroom community. Students' critical reasoning is no longer value-free; instead, it transforms into high-integrity reasoning capable of filtering intellectual hoaxes. Theoretically, this study contributes to the Prophetic Constructivism model, while practically offering a non-dichotomous curriculum prototype that aligns global science competency standards with spiritual identity. This model positions character as the soul of the entire intellectual process in navigating the post-truth era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth Mohammad Natsir's thoughts on moral education and its relevance in the context of contemporary Islamic education. Mohammad Natsir is one of the prominent Indonesian Muslim thinkers and politicians who strongly emphasized the importance of moral development as the core of Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library study method, namely analyzing Natsir's works and other relevant literature, and combining them with the thoughts of classical figures such as Al-Ghazali as a comparison. The results show that according to Natsir, moral education does not only aim to distinguish between good and bad, but also to shape individuals who are faithful, knowledgeable, and have noble morals. Moral education must be based on strengthening faith, good deeds, and exemplary behavior, and implemented holistically through the integration of spiritual, intellectual, and social aspects. Natsir also emphasized the important role of education in building Islamic civilization by fostering individuals who are responsible to themselves, society, and God. Natsir's thoughts on moral education have proven to be still highly relevant in addressing the challenges of the moral crisis in the modern era. Values such as honesty, integrity, discipline, and social concern that he offers are in line with the principles of character education in current national education policy.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper will analyze the theological foundations of the development paradigm of Muhammadiyah in Indonesia with reference to three interconnected theological frameworks which include the theology of development, transformative theology and Al-Maun theology. Muhammadiyah, being one of the largest Islamic reform movements in the world, stands out as a special case as it has been able to integrate Islamic theology with modernism models of social change, making it one of the unique models of faith-based development, both spiritual and material aspects of human flourishing. This paper examines how these theological views influence the vast mass of educational institutions, medical care centers, and social welfare programs run by Muhammadiyah and how they carry out practical insights into divine command as expressed in social action and empowerment of the community.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited provision of early childhood education (ECE) services, which remains disproportionate to the number of children requiring access. Existing programs, such as toddler family development initiatives and integrated health service posts, have not yet delivered comprehensive, synergistic, and integrative services encompassing education, health, and nutrition. Therefore, this research aims to examine the implementation strategy of holistic-integrative early childhood education at the As-Syifa Early Childhood Education Center in Orong Bawa Village, Utan District. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using SWOT analysis to identify internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) factors influencing the Holistic-Integrative ECE (PAUD HI) program. The results show an internal factor score of -0.2 and an external factor score of 0.6, positioning the program within a specific SWOT quadrant that informs strategic development. The findings indicate that the development of holistic-integrative ECE can be achieved through: (1) the provision of holistic services covering education, health, and child guidance; (2) the implementation of integrative learning strategies addressing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains; and (3) strengthening communication and guidance for parents. Furthermore, effective coordination with related institutions, such as integrated health service posts (Posyandu) and Bina Keluarga Balita (BKB), is essential. In conclusion, holistic-integrative ECE plays a critical role in facilitating comprehensive child development and requires collaborative, systematic, and integrated implementation among all stakeholders.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum at SMPIT Insan Madani represents a strategic innovation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to address contemporary educational challenges. This curriculum emphasizes student autonomy, differentiated instruction, and the integration of technology, aiming to reinforce Islamic values while aligning religious teachings with Islamic philosophy. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, this study collects data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis involves filtering relevant information, aligning it with theoretical frameworks, and evaluating educators' roles in PAI instruction. The implementation of PAI learning innovation follows a differentiated approach consisting of three key components: content, process, and product. Content differentiation involves assigning varied learning materials and tasks tailored to students’ comprehension levels. For example, students grouped based on their understanding receive different assignments to better suit their needs. Process differentiation allows teachers to assess students’ proficiency and adapt instructional methods accordingly. In the context of prayer lessons, students who face difficulties in reading are given corrective guidance, while those more advanced engage directly in practice activities. Product differentiation empowers students to demonstrate their understanding through creative outputs such as summaries or PowerPoint presentations, submitted independently to the teacher. This innovative approach reflects a personalized and transformative learning experience, ensuring that each student receives education suited to their individual abilities. The method aligns with the core principles of the Merdeka Curriculum by fostering autonomy, spiritual growth, and academic excellence. Overall, the differentiated PAI learning model at SMPIT Insan Madani serves as a practical response to students' diverse learning needs, equipping them with balanced spiritual and intellectual competencies relevant to the digital era and the demands of 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Islamic spiritual values in educational quality management. The study aims to develop a conceptual model of Islamic TQM as a holistic quality management framework for Islamic educational institutions. A qualitative approach with a library research design was employed. Data were collected from reputable journal articles, academic books, and scientific publications related to TQM, spiritual leadership, Islamic quality management, and Islamic education management. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis through four stages: data extraction, open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. The findings reveal four major themes: (1) the dominance of a technocratic TQM paradigm focused on efficiency and standardization; (2) spirituality as an internal dimension that enhances organizational commitment and performance; (3) Islamic values such as tauhid, amanah, ihsan, and itqan as normative foundations of quality management; and (4) the integration of TQM principles and Islamic values into a holistic management model. The study concludes that the proposed Islamic TQM model provides a more comprehensive framework by combining managerial effectiveness, moral responsibility, and spiritual orientation. This model is relevant for madrasah, pesantren, and Islamic higher education institutions in responding to contemporary educational challenges.
