Abstract

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a chronic condition in which blood flow in the arteries experiences excessive and often uncontrolled increases. Hypertension occurs due to the impact of several risk factors. Risk factors for hypertension include a family/genetic history of hypertension, advanced age, gender, diet, unhealthy diet, obesity, frequent smoking and alcohol consumption, stress, and lack of physical activity, which are the main risk factors for developing hypertension. Hypertension treatment includes not only pharmacological but also non-pharmacological methods. Providing green bean juice, rich in potassium and isoflavones, is an alternative for lowering blood pressure. Objective: At the Sri Rezeki Elderly Community Health Post (Posyandu Lansia Sri Rezeki), Mojokrapak Village, Tambelang District, Jombang Regency, this research aims to reveal the relationship between green bean juice consumption and changes in blood pressure in elderly individuals with hypertension. This study employed a comparative experimental design with a pretest-posttest model in two groups. The study population consisted of 80 elderly individuals, with a purposive sampling technique used to select 16 respondents. Information was obtained through recording on the observation sheet and checking blood circulation pressure with a sphygmomanometer, then analyzed using the paired T-test method. The study output showed that before being given the mung bean juice intervention there were 11 respondents with severe hypertension, while after the intervention a number of 6 respondents suffered from pre-hypertension. In the statistical analysis using the paired t-test method, the p value was obtained in line with 0.000 which was lower than the significance limit of 0.05. This output confirms that the consumption of mung bean juice plays an important role in lowering blood circulation pressure in the group of elderly people with hypertension who participated in Posyandu services in Mojokrapak Village, Tambelang District, Jombang Regency. Mung bean extract has been proven to be able to provide a positive effect in lowering blood circulation pressure in elderly people with hypertension, especially in individuals who are not disciplined in taking antihypertensive drugs and have an unbalanced diet.

Abstract

This study aims to redesign a futuristic learning model through the SCAMPER technique as a framework for developing effective and future-oriented education that responds to the demands of the Society 5.0 era. The study focuses on combining learning models to cultivate students’ critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration skills. Through the substitute, combine, adapt, modify, eliminate, and rearrange stages of SCAMPER, this research integrates Problem-Based Learning as main model, Group Investigation as complement model, and Talking Stick as supporting model into a coherent learning framework. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through document analysis and literature review, and analyzed following Miles and Huberman’s model comprising data collection, reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the redesigned model encourages student-centered learning, active participation, and meaningful interaction between teachers and learners. The integration of collaborative and reflective activities also promotes students’ confidence and communication fluency. Thus, the SCAMPER-based redesign offers a practical reference for educators in constructing innovative, contextual, and adaptive learning models that prepare students to face the complex challenges of the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study examines how English for Sharia Purposes can serve as a pedagogical platform for cultivating tolerance and interfaith competence among Muslim law students in Indonesia’s plural legal order, where state law interacts with Sharia-based norms and diverse religious communities. Conducted at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Salatiga within the Constitutional Law study program of the Faculty of Sharia, the research responds to institutional commitments to Islamic moderation and global engagement. While English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in Sharia faculties has traditionally emphasized linguistic proficiency, limited attention has been given to its potential for preparing future Sharia lawyers to navigate socio-legal challenges involving religious rights, minority protections, and interreligious dispute resolution. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with lecturers and students, and document analysis of teaching materials and institutional policy statements. Findings show that debates on minority rights, interfaith-mediation role-plays, and analysis of constitutional and international human-rights texts did more than improve students’ legal English; they fostered professional dispositions of fairness, empathy, and rights-aware reasoning grounded in Sharia principles of ʿadl (justice), tasāmuh (tolerance), and wasatiyyah (moderation). Student reflections suggested movement from “othering” to recognizing non-Muslims as equal subjects of justice, consistent with intercultural sensitivity and interfaith competence models. The study contributes to interfaith law and society by demonstrating how discipline-specific language education can serve as a socio-legal formation, translating interfaith ethics into practical legal communication skills for plural, rights-based contexts.

Abstract

Vocabulary is a crucial aspect of language learning, impacting the four core skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. A strong vocabulary foundation enables students to understand spoken language, express their ideas effectively, comprehend texts, and produce well-structured written content. However, vocabulary acquisition remains a challenge for many students, particularly when conventional teaching methods fail to engage them, resulting in difficulties in memorization, lack of motivation, and monotonous learning experiences. To overcome these challenges, innovative strategies like gamification have been introduced to enhance engagement and learning outcomes. One effective approach is using Kahoot!, a game-based learning platform that integrates interactive quizzes and competition to make learning enjoyable. Research indicates that gamified learning environments boost motivation, participation, and vocabulary retention. This study explores the effectiveness of Kahoot! in improving vocabulary skills among sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Penggarutan 01 Brebes. A quantitative pre-experimental design was used, involving 18 students selected through purposive sampling. Vocabulary tests were conducted as both pre-test and post-test to measure the impact of Kahoot!, with data analysed using SPSS 22, including descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test. Results showed a significant improvement in vocabulary scores, with the mean increasing from 72.50 in the pre-test to 79.17 in the post-test. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05), confirming Kahoot!'s effectiveness. The study concludes that Kahoot! is a valuable tool for vocabulary learning, fostering motivation, participation, and retention.
