Abstract

Seaweed cultivation activities have long developed, but productivity tends to decrease over time due to various environmental factors. Efforts to increase productivity are minimal, both from government agencies and from the community itself. The results of previous studies indicate that the integration of seaweed cultivation can increase the income of seaweed farmers. The main problems of partners include: low productivity due to fish pest disturbance and technical cultivation, poor business management, low income and variations in seaweed growth. The main targets include: (1) increasing income of partner groups through fishing activities; (2) increasing production of partner groups through fostering seaweed cultivation techniques; (3) increasing business productivity through fostering production and business management. The method of approach is to solve problems with group members (partners), namely: counseling, training, piloting, guidance and assistance as well as practical learning (learning by doing). Counseling includes: technical seaweed cultivation, fishing techniques, group management, business management. Practical training: improvement of construction framework for seaweed cultivation, construction of fishing gear, application of fishing technology. Furthermore, assistance and monitoring and evaluation of the success of the implementation of community partnership program (PKM). The results of extension show that the group realizes that the potential of fish around seaweed cultivation has not been utilized properly. The fish around seaweed cultivation can be utilized by using fish trap or gill net. The results of field observations showed that the bubu could not be operated in strong current conditions and caused partial flooding. In addition, the availability of bait is a limiting factor in the operation of bubu. The bait commonly used in catching rabbit fish is silk moss which is present around the rainy season. Fish caught include: rabbit fish, grouper, mangrove red snapper, barramundi. Weather conditions that are less friendly make the fish catches not as expected.

Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze the process of budget planning and implementation in The Department  of  Tourism and Creative Economy, Palu City. It is a descriptive qualitative and selects 4 (four) financial managers as its main respondents. The result indicates that the process of budget planning in The Department of Tourism anD, Renja-SKPD, KUA, PPAS, RKA-SKPD, and APBD, which are compiled into a budget implementation document/DPA. However, budget allocation for each program is disproportional and disregards the procurement standard analysis. Moreover, budget implementation has been executed based on the regulation and yet, is not supported by qualified human resources, who have knowledge of financial management. Fund disbursement is often delayed because of waiting for the provision of funds letter/SPD and there is also a delay in money supply process/GU because the financial report is not handed to the treasure on time.

Abstract

The regency of Barru is a potential region for Tiger prawn cultured in the South Sulawesi Province. Generally, thisaquaculture activity is based on the application of intensively cultivated pattern by using artificial feed as a sourceof the prawn foremost meal. Some research suggested that an intensive pattern of prawn cultured generatessome waste products that are significantly to affect such physical, chemical as well as biological parameters ofcoastal water condition. That the change in environmental quality of coastal water will affect commercial tigerprawn that is the role of water to support sustainable cultured through its carrying capacity. This research wasaimed to analyze physical, chemical and biological parameters of coastal water and to ensure its carrying capacityin maintaining commercially tiger prawn cultured. The results are expected to be some more valuable referencesfor the benefit of the development of tiger prawn aquaculture. The research was conducted in the coastal waterfrom June to December 2007. Observation was made in order to find out physical, chemical, and biological factorsthroughout the stations (i.e., sea, coastal, pond, estuaria and the outlet of the farm stations). To examine thephysical, chemical and biological parameter of spatial characteristic, a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) wasused. The used approaches to determine carrying capacity were based on capacity and receivance ability ofwaters and oxygen content. The results of this research show that the entirely physical and chemical parametersof coastal water of the Barru regency were exceeded that of the requirement thresholds of the total suspendedsediment (TSS) and the chemical oxygen demand (COD). A spatial distribution of physical and chemicalcharacteristics was measured high by TSS and COD, as well as the level of water turbidity, all at the outflow ofestuaria and the Outlet; meanwhile, the value of NO2, Phosphate, and NH3 substances was recorded high at thepond. A biological parameter was characterized by the existence of phytoplankton through its density and abundanceas well. Those of the Class Bacyllariophyceae was dominantly encountered to attain at the top as high as 75.2% inspecies composition, followed by Cyanophyceae 9.3% at the second, and the rest Chlorophyceae 8.9% andDyanophyceae and Euglenophyceae 5.9% and 0.7% respectively. Based on the stationed preferences, those in thecoastal, the pond, and the Outlet were dominated by Bacyllariophyceae, whereas the estuaria by Cyanophyceae. The Shannon’s index of diversity (H’) of the entirely stations was varied among 1.01 – 2.12 that the lowest one at theestuaria and the highest at the sea. The coastal water has its carrying capacity to support the excess of 506,437kg organic waste substances based on the necessity of oxygen content suspending in the water column. Therefore, the given pond is feasible to develop to reach as much as 219 Ha intensive ponds, or 481 Ha semi-intensive pondson the other way.

Abstract

This research was motivated by several reasons: (1) there was a misconception of some elementary school geometry materials that were considered essential; (2) the form of evaluation given was dominantly objective/multiple choice; (3) teachers' teaching methods tend not to be contextual; and (4) students' way of thinking simply to take the practical one. Through this research, it is expected to obtain information about: geometrical reasoning in elementary schools according to Bruner's theory, problem solving and mathematical representations. Theresearch was conducted in a descriptive analytic form, with the following steps: (1) giving questions for the geometry reasoning test for SMP; (2) analyzing answers according to the criteria of reasoning; and (3) mapping students' answers to the results of the analysis according to the profile criteria. The data obtained were analyzed, and the results were described to illustrate the condition of the geometric reasoning abilities of elementary school students. Theresults obtained in this study were: (1) The Mastery of the concept of geometry in each junior high school/equivalent. The target with the acquisition of an average score from all schools was 55, which was quite low because there were some students who did not master the concept of geometry and there were other mathematical concepts related to solving test questions; (2) There was no significant difference in the mastery of geometry concepts for male or femalestudents for each SMP/equivalent target, except for one school, namely SMP Negeri 17, which was because males are superior to females in three questions with a difference in the percentage of numbers of significantly correct; (3) The mastery of geometry concepts in each junior high school. The target of studying each geometry material was considered good, except for question number 1 with the subject of the Pythagorean Theorem, because students were dominant in not being able to use the relationship between concepts, especially the operation ofthe compounding form and the roots.
