Abstract

In the Indonesian context, Islamic social finance sector is synonymous with zakat and waqf institutions. This is influenced by explanation of two regulations in Indonesia related to Islamic social finance, namely Law no. 23 of 2011 concerning Zakat Management and Law no. 41 of 2004 concerning waqf. In addition to zakat, waqf also has no less great potential to support the development of halal industry in Indonesia. With characteristics of being relatively flexible in use, the potential for waqf is much greater even though collection is still relatively low compared to its potential. Several important issues that arise in halal industry in Indonesia are lack of competitiveness of halal products in Indonesia in global market, one of which can be caused by high production costs. The research method used is descriptive qualitative by using primary reference sources, namely reading and taking notes and processing research materials in library such as books, news, and others. The analytical technique used is content analysis of the literature related to zakat and taxes in Islam. Thus, it can be concluded that the ZISWAF sector has great potential to encourage the development of the halal industry in Indonesia. However, this potential will only be realized if there is an ecosystem and policies that support this. For this reason, before formulating strategic policies and encouraging the creation of the required ecosystem, the existing strengths and challenges need to be identified properly. This will be further discussed in the section on zakat and waqf development strategies

Abstract

The selection of materials and aerodynamic design forms needs to be considered in designing a comfortable helmet. The emergence of the drag force on the helmet causes a compressive force, which causes the rider discomfort when driving at high speeds. This research was conducted on 4 variations of helmet models consisting of 1 time-trial type helmet as a reference and 3 other helmets which were developed from the basic model. This simulation was conducted in a 2D helmet model at Re 7.14 x 104, 1.00 x 105, and 1.16 x 105. In this study, Turbulence Intensity was varied as 0.1%, 0.2%, and 1%. The results are shown through the drag coefficient's value and visualization of streamlined flow. The results showed that the 2D simulation on the helmet produced a lower error by using Set Up Turbulence Intensity 0.1%. The emergence of the Oscillating Karman vortex in large size indicates the higher the drag force that occurs on the helmet. In this study, helmet type 3, with a trailing edge and has a smooth curve, has the lowest drag force at Re 1.16 x 105 with a drag coefficient value of around 0.38.

Zakat has an important role as an instrument to realize income equality and maintain balance in society, one of which is overcoming unemployment. This research aims to find out how the strategy of distributing zakat funds can alleviate unemployment by Islamic law. This research examines the theoretical relationship between the pattern and mechanism of zakat management, viewed from a sharia perspective, and its economic impact. This is literature research by reviewing books and journals discussing productive zakat in poverty alleviation efforts. This study is a descriptive comparative analysis. The data collected is analyzed using the content analysis method, a technique used to analyze the meaning of the data collected through literature research. The results of this study indicate that the role of zakat in overcoming unemployment is getting better economically through the distribution of consumptive zakat. The consumptive assistance will increase Mustahik's purchasing power to meet their needs. The increase in purchasing power has a positive impact on increasing a company's production. With the increasing demand for the product, companies need to improve their production capacity. The company will hire more labour to meet the increased demand, and consequently, the problem of unemployment can be overcome

Abstract

In this study, the researcher took the title "Al-Qur’an and Identity: Exploring the Meaning of Hijrah as a Millennial Muslim Identity Through Interpretation." The method used is contextual interpretation, initiated by Abdullah Saeed. This research concludes that the term "hijrah" has undergone a shift in meaning, namely that what was originally a territorial transfer has now become individual piety and is used as a person's Islamic identity, which is marked by a distinctive style of dress in the style of syar'i, lifestyle, and even style of speech. The term hijrah is interpreted as a change in all aspects of life by adopting the values contained in past hijrah events, namely changes towards a stronger faith and changes in social, national, and state structures. In the Indonesian millennial context, hijrah becomes the identity of a true Muslim. This is an opportunity as well as a challenge for Muslims today. The challenge is that the measure of one's Islam is only seen in its outward aspect or appearance. Meanwhile, Islam also places great emphasis on aspects of universal and substantial values in every dimension of its teachings.

Abstract

This article reviews sexual violence against women found in the narrative of the yellow book, especially in the context of Islamic law and customs. Although Islam emphasizes the safety, peace, and respect for women, there is an ambiguity in the meaning of the holy text that can trigger interpretations that support violence. This is exacerbated by some scholars who have conservative views on the role of women, which are then immortalized in the yellow book. This article also highlights that violence against women is often supported by biased interpretations of the verses of the Qur'an and hadith. In conclusion, the yellow book, as a reference for Islamic teachings in Islamic boarding schools, needs to be reviewed to eliminate the narrative of violence and ensure respect for women in accordance with the true teachings of Islam.

Abstract

Jizyah is one of the sources of income of baitul maal. Jizyah is an obligation/compensation for the protection of life, property, worship, and military responsibility. Jizyah is defined as a tax paid by non-Muslims. Baitul maal is an institution that has a duty to manage the property of the state, both in the form of income and state expenditure. The modern baitul maal can be interpreted as a financial minister or Indonesian bank that can perform actions in the field of budget and revenue of the state with a view to influence the economic path. This research aims to know if the concept of jizyah can be a source of baitul maal in supporting the country's economy. Research uses a library approach by using analysis content to analyse both primary and secondary data. Then write it with a descriptive method. As for the results of this study, Indonesia is one of the democratic countries, so it is not able to collect taxes only from the kafir dzimmi (non-Muslim). Therefore Indonesia applies various taxes to the community, such as income tax (PPh), value added tax (VAT), sales tax on luxury goods (Vat BM), stamp duty, land and building tax (PBB), land and building rights acquisition (BPHTB) as state income.

Abstract

The sustainability of the benefits of waqf is possible because of the implementation of productive waqf can support various social and religious activities. Even so, good and innovative management is still needed in order to achieve professional waqf management, namely good waqf governance. This paper aims to examine the concept of good governance, the potential of waqf in Indonesia, and the institutional problems and solutions of waqf in Indonesia. This is a library research using a qualitative method and descriptive analytic study. Data were collected using the documentary method, which comes from books, journals, internet, and papers. The results of this study indicate that the donated land assets in Indonesia are 52.245,41 hectares spread over 385.898 locations. Most of the use of the waqf land is still in the form of direct waqf (consumptive), dominated by the construction of mosques by 44,26% and musholla (a prayer room) by 28,43%. Meanwhile, the potential for cash waqf in Indonesia reaches 3 trillion per year with an estimated number of generous Muslims of 10 million and an average monthly income of IDR 500.000 to IDR 10.000.000. Regarding problems in the development of waqf related to waqf management, including the management that is not optimal, even many are mismanaged which results in many waqf assets being neglected, some even missing. The solution lies in the existence of nadzir and a solid team work to maximize the expected results of waqf where waqf management requires good governance which can be used as a benchmark for whether performance in the organization is based on five principles, namely transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence and fairness or not.
