Abstract

This qualitative study explored the proper and feasible Halal Tourism (HT) model regarding the implementation of Sharia law in Aceh Province, Indonesia. Observation, questionnaire, and interview were conducted at three important tourist cities in Aceh: Banda Aceh, Sabang, and Takengon. Three hundred twenty-five respondents participated in this research, and convenience sampling was used to select them. The results were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s qualitative analysis method and the SWOT analysis to construct the expected model. The result indicated that the HT model must be arranged under the following six principles: ease, reliability, safety, trust, openness, and continual improvement. Those principles can be implemented in every aspect of tourism: policies and regulations, facilities, hotels, other accommodations, transportation, and human resources. Also, progress in the HT management must focus on implementing Sharia in the plenary (kaffah) and improving the locals’ prosperity. Besides, the HT model consists of planning, decision-making, providing support, socializing, implementing, and supervising, considering its principles toward tourism and local cultures and values. The implementation of the model is expected to ensure the communities' life and integrate their inextricable foundation, Sharia while stimulating their socio-economic through the possibility of investment and employment in the future.

Abstract

Downy mildew is one of the major patogen limiting maize productivity in Indonesia. Effective mitigation strategies are essential due to the significant yield losses it causes. Biological control is an environmentally viable alternative method of disease management. Bacillus spp. are biological control agent capable of producing metabolic chemicals that can inhibit plant infections, hence holding potential for downy mildew management. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Bacillus spp. from the maize rhizosphere to manage downy mildew and promote maize plant growth. The research employed a completely randomized block design, consisting of four treatments and six replications. The treatments comprised Bacillus amyloliquefaciens BB.R3, B. subtilis BK.R5, Bacillus spp. BK.R9, fungicides treatment (metalaxyl), and control group for comparison. The observed variables included spore germination, incubation period, disease incidence, disease severity, Area Under Disease Progression Curve (AUDPC), number of leaves, plant height, fresh shoot weight, and fresh root weight. The findings revealed that B. amyloliquefaciens BB.R3, B. subtilis BK.R5, and Bacillus spp. BK.R9 effectively inhibited downy mildew by decreasing spore germination by 80.55-100%, prolonging the incubation period, and inhibiting disease incidence by 20.37-53.70%, disease severity by 25.64-62.56%, and AUDPC by 22.21-63.37%. B. amyloliquefaciens BB.R3 can enhance plant growth by augmenting root weight by 122.63% and maize plant weight by 80.26%.   ABSTRAK   Penyakit bulai merupakan salah satu penyakit utama yang menghambat produksi jagung di Indonesia. Abstract

This study focuses on contrastive analysis of the characteristics and features of adverbs in English and Indonesian languages. This study explores all similarities and differences of adverbs according to their forms, formations, meanings and positions in both languages thoroughly and accordingly predict what sorts of errors the Indonesian learners of English may encounter. This research uses descriptive method by using library research in which all data are collected from linguistics books from both languages. The findings show that there are similarities and differences almost in all aspects of adverbs in both languages. (1). Both languages have two similar forms, as origin and derivative. But in Indonesian, the original and derivative ones can be classified again into reduplication word. (2). The formations of adverbs in both languages use different affixation systems as inflection and derivation. Indonesian uses various affixes such as prefixes, suffixes and confixes, while English uses only kinds of affixes as prefix and suffix. In forming adverbs from adjectives, English uses a suffix ‘-ly’, and a prefix ‘a-‘, meanwhile most of the Indonesian adverbs have the same form as adjectives or without any addition of affixes. Referring to adverbs derived from verbs, Indonesian ones may be formed through reduplicating the base form of the verbs, while English does not have this system.  The formation of adverbs derived from nouns, English uses some suffixes such as, -ly, -ward(s), -ways, -wise, and a prefix, a-. Meanwhile Indonesian uses only one prefix ‘se-, one suffix –nya’ and by reduplicating the base form of the noun (e.g., hati becoming hati-hati), it is not in English ones. (3). In terms of their meanings, even though both English and Indonesian are alike, a great difference appears that several words called auxiliaries verbs in English and some English verbs such as, like, want, and wish, etc. have different word classes, concept and function in both languages. Those auxiliaries’ words and verbs are basically real adverbs as qualifiers in Indonesian. (4). Referring to adverb positions, generally, Indonesian adverbs are more mobile in sentences, meanwhile, English ones have certain common positions except some words should be placed permanently. These differences of adverbs in English and Indonesian are identified as problems caused by language interference for Indonesian students. Consequently, the results of this extensive research may be useful for teachers, students, curriculum development and materials of teaching.

Abstract

It has been conducted a geomagnetic research in the geothermal area of Sonai Village and its surroundings, Puriala, Konawe Regency, which aims to identify the structure of the subsurface using the pseudo-gravity method. After performing diurnal and IGRF corrections on the measurement data, the residual magnetic field anomaly is obtained around -150 to 90 nT. Furthermore, transformation process using the pseudo-gravity method is carried out, and the anomaly contour density is obtained around -0.07 to 0.06 mGal. The results of 2D modeling of 2 slices on the residual magnetic anomaly map that have undergone pseudo-gravity transformation show that the subsurface layers of the research area are composed of 3 formations. Layers with density values of 1.5 and 2.5 g/cm3 are thought to be Alluvium Deposits in the form of sand and clay, layers with density values of 2.6 and 2.78 g/cm3 are sandstone and conglomerate in the Alangga Formation, and a layer with a density value of 2.84 g/cm3 is peridotite in the Ultramafic Complex (bedrock layer). In addition, several minor faults were also found, and among them 2 minor faults adjacent to geothermal manifestation are located at coordinates of approximately 4o1’16.149” South Latitude dan 122o7’9.609” East Longitude with a distance of ±15 meters, and at coordinates of approximately 4o1’23.388” South Latitude dan 122o7’24.326” East Longitude which is ±28 meters from the manifestation. These minor faults cut through the peridotite layer and the conglomerate layer, and are thought to be the migration path of hot fluids towards the surface.
