Abstract

Objective: This study aims to provide a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of reflective practices in physics education, identifying global trends, research gaps, and future directions. The focus is to map the development of reflective practices as a key 21st-century skill in physics learning and to highlight their role in strengthening conceptual understanding, metacognitive awareness, and student autonomy. Method: A bibliometric research design was employed using the Scopus database as the primary source. Data were collected from 1995 to 2025, filtered according to inclusion criteria, and analyzed using performance analysis and science-mapping techniques. Tools such as VOSviewer and Biblioshiny were used to visualize publication trends, collaboration networks, and keyword co-occurrences, ensuring validity and replicability. Results: The findings indicate significant growth in publications since 2015, peaking in 2024. Conference proceedings dominate research outputs, while reputable journals play a more minor yet influential role. The United States, China, and Indonesia emerge as leading contributors, with varying levels of international collaboration. Keyword analysis highlights "students," "reflection," and "deep learning" as dominant themes, reflecting a shift toward student-centred and technology-enhanced pedagogies. Novelty: Unlike prior studies that focused mainly on classroom implementation or teacher training, this research systematically maps reflective practices in physics education through bibliometric analysis. It provides the first global overview of research trends and offers strategic recommendations for advancing reflective practices as a transformative approach in 21st-century physics education.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to determine potential future research directions that can strengthen the integration between SRL and physics education in order to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goal 4 on Quality Education. Method: This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive approach, a bibliometric analysis study used data from the Scopus database to map trends and focuses on Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) research in international literature.  Results: There is a global research trend in SRL and physics learning that supports the SDGs. The number of documents and citations increased from 2020 to 2025, resulting in 123 Scopus documents, with the highest number of citations in 2024, reaching 185. Novelty: The findings of the bibliometric analysis identified three main aspects of SRL research on physics materials and their influence on the SDGs, including the use of AI technology, relevant learning models, and learning processes. Future research directions hold great potential for integrating technologies such as AI and IoT devices into SRL to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This finding is in innovative learning planning focused on self-satisfaction in the era of technology adoption.

Abstract

Objective: Physics learning on sound wave topics, particularly open-pipe organ systems, is often perceived as abstract due to the limited availability of contextual and meaningful learning media. This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of the BASA Booklet (Bamboo Acoustic STEM Approach) as a physics learning medium that integrates the STEM approach, gamification, and ethnophysics through the local wisdom context of bamboo flute instruments. Method: This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using a modified Borg and Gall development model, implemented up to the main field testing stage. The research subjects consisted of physics teachers and pre-service physics teachers as potential users of the developed media. Data were collected using feasibility questionnaires that assessed media design, learning content, and gamification aspects, and were analyzed descriptively. Results: The results of the main field testing indicate that the BASA Booklet received positive responses across all evaluated aspects, demonstrating that the developed media is conceptually and pedagogically feasible. Respondents perceived the booklet as visually engaging, easy to use, and supportive of independent and structured learning, particularly for abstract physics concepts related to sound waves and open-pipe organ principles. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the development of a culture-based, gamified STEM booklet grounded in ethnophysics, which integrates local cultural contexts into physics learning. This model offers an alternative approach to making abstract physics concepts more contextual, meaningful, and relevant. Nevertheless, further studies are required to examine the classroom implementation and effectiveness of the BASA Booklet.

Abstract

Objective: Innovative digital learning media are increasingly needed to help students understand complex biological concepts and develop scientific literacy. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the validity and practicality of FAZAR ALIRA, a learning media that integrates augmented reality (AR) visualization and virtual laboratory simulations within a PBL framework for teaching the human circulatory system. Method: The study employed a research and development approach consisting of analysis, design, development, and evaluation stages. The developed media includes AR visualizations of laminar and turbulent blood flow, contextual learning materials related to lifestyle and cardiovascular health, and interactive virtual laboratory simulations that allow students to investigate the relationship between blood vessel resistance, blood pressure, and heart workload. The validity of the media was evaluated by science education experts and practitioners, while its practicality was examined through teacher and student responses during implementation. Results: The results indicate that FAZAR ALIRA achieved high validity across content, construct, and language aspects and was considered practical and easy to use in classroom learning. Novelty: Lies in integrating AR-based blood flow visualization, contextual health narratives, and virtual laboratory inquiry within a PBL environment to support students’ scientific literacy in learning the human circulatory system.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to map students' Gen AI usage profiles during physics learning. In addition, this study will also examine the correlation between these variables and students' critical thinking skills in physics learning. Method: A non-experimental, quantitative, ex post facto design was used in this study. This research design captures phenomena that occur naturally without treatment. The research instrument used questionnaires and tests. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and the Spearman correlation test. Results: Students still tend to accept answers from Gen AI quickly during physics learning. Only a small portion are accustomed to doubting, checking, and evaluating Gen AI answers. There are differences in critical thinking skills across groups of students with different patterns of Gen AI use, with an ε2 of 0.410. The profile of Gen AI usage is positively correlated with critical thinking skills, with a correlation coefficient of 0.525 in the medium category. Novelty: This study contributes by revealing the profile of students' Gen AI use in physics learning and by providing empirical evidence that the quality of ethical and reflective use has a strong influence and is positively correlated with critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis profil keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV pada materi gaya disekitar kita. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pendahuluan yang bersifat deskriptif tanpa mengajukan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sekolah dasar dalam ketegori rendah. Pembahasan hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa rendahnya  keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang diterapkan guru tidak dapat mendorong munculnya keterampilan berpikir kritis untuk memecahkan masalah, sehingga perlu penelitian lanjutan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan metode pembelajaran gamifikasi agar bermakna dan menyenangkan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa tergolong rendah sehingga perlu adanya revolusi pembelajaran IPAS dengan pemanfaatan digitalisasi pembelajaran melalui metode gamifikasi diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan awal dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) menggunakan Assembler Studio Web pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Wawancara dilakukan terhadap guru untuk menggali informasi terkait kendala dalam pembelajaran IPAS, kebutuhan akan media pembelajaran interaktif, serta kesiapan dalam mengadopsi teknologi AR. Observasi dilakukan di kelas untuk memahami proses pembelajaran secara langsung, sedangkan dokumentasi mencakup analisis silabus, modul ajar, dan bahan ajar yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPAS masih didominasi metode ceramah dan buku teks, sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep-konsep abstrak. Guru dan siswa membutuhkan media pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan berbasis teknologi. AR berbasis Assembler Studio Web berpotensi menjadi solusi efektif karena dapat menyajikan materi dalam bentuk visual dan interaktif. Namun, implementasi teknologi ini memerlukan dukungan infrastruktur sekolah, pelatihan guru, serta desain media yang mudah digunakan. Dengan demikian, pengembangan media AR dalam pembelajaran IPAS berpotensi meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan dukungan dari berbagai pihak untuk memastikan keberhasilan penerapannya di sekolah dasar.
