Abstract

Coping ability is the ability to cope with pressure and problems. there are several types of coping strategies, including passive and active coping. The purpose of this study is to see how social cognitive theory can be applied in guidance and counseling practice to improve adolescents' ability to handle stress. To find the application of the theory in guidance and counseling, relevant literature has been collected and analyzed using the literature review method. Results show that the principles of Cognitive Social Theory, which include strong social support, the use of active coping strategies, and parental involvement, contribute positively to the development of adolescents' coping skills. The results showed that adolescents who participated in a TSC-based guidance and counseling program showed better emotional resilience and self-efficacy. It was found that strengthening coping skills requires support from peers and family. To ensure that the intervention meets the needs of adolescents, ongoing evaluation is also needed. This study points out some issues when implementing a TSC-based guidance program, such as obtaining adequate training for counselors and ensuring that resources are available. It is expected that adolescents will be able to gain better skills to handle diverse situations and improve their emotional resilience by implementing an effective theory-based approach. Further research is needed, especially to improve adolescents' adaptability in today's increasingly complex environment.

Abstract

The increase in drug abuse cases in Indonesia, especially among women, raises concerns about its impact on physical health and social behavior. One important determinant of drug abuse behavior is an individual's attitude towards the substance. Permissive or positive attitudes towards drugs are known to increase the tendency to use. This study specifically aims to examine the effectiveness of group guidance services in modifying prisoners' attitudes towards drugs. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and time series design. The research subjects involved nine inmates and one former inmate of drug cases who participated in a series of group guidance sessions. Data were obtained through the instrument of Attitude toward Drugs Checklist which was prepared based on Likert scale. Data analysis techniques used include the N-gain test to assess the increase in attitude change and the Wilcoxon test to test the significance of differences before and after the intervention. The results showed that group guidance services were significantly able to change prisoners' attitudes towards drugs, with a Z value of -2.810 and Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.005. These findings indicate that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that group guidance services are an effective approach in reducing permissive attitudes towards drugs, and have the potential to be a supporting strategy in rehabilitation and drug abuse prevention programs in correctional institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the complementary relationship between Guidance and Counseling (BK) services and subject learning in the context of the educational ecosystem. Using a qualitative approach through a literature study method, this study analyzes various theories, previous research results, and relevant integration models. The results of the study indicate that synergy between BK teachers and subject teachers can improve the quality of learning and overall student well-being. This synergy is evident in the collaboration of learning planning, mentoring problematic students, and strengthening character in the learning process. However, role differentiation is still needed to avoid overlapping functions. BK teachers remain focused on the psychosocial and self-development aspects of students, while subject teachers on the academic aspects. This study also identifies an effective collaboration-based integration model, namely through a whole-school approach that unites various educational functions. The implications of this study are the need for cross-professional training and school policies that support structural synergy and role differentiation to create holistic and sustainable education.

Abstract

The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) phenomenon among adolescents is increasingly a concern in the educational environment. It emerges in adolescents’ social lives, both as part of self-identity and as an issue that raises pros and cons in school. The lack of understanding and empathy towards this issue often gives rise to discriminatory behaviors that negatively impact the psychosocial development of adolescents. This article lifts up the good practice of implementing group tutoring in schools as a strategic approach in building students’ understanding and empathy towards LGBT issues. Through descriptive qualitative methods and a participatory approach, this article highlights how group tutoring is a safe container for discussing, exploring values, as well as fostering inclusive attitudes among students. Results indicate that the implementation of structured and empathetic group tutoring is capable of reducing prejudice as well as forming tolerant attitudes toward diversity of sexual orientation and gender identity. The purpose of this article is to look at how group tutoring functions as an educational and preventive method in building students’ understanding and empathy towards LGBT issues. To achieve this goal, a literature study has been conducted that examines various methods of group tutoring, particularly those based on humanistic and social, in building inclusive attitudes among adolescents. Study results show that group tutoring helps teens understand diversity, become more empathetic, and makes schools safe and welcoming for all students, including LGBT students. This article emphasizes the role of kindergarten teachers in designing group tutoring programs that are sensitive to diversity issues to support adolescents’ social-emotional development.
