Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL) based on a deep learning approach in elementary school science learning under the Independent Curriculum. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research type at Tepungsari Public Elementary School. The research subjects consisted of a fifth-grade teacher and 27 students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results showed that the implementation of PjBL was able to create active, contextual, and meaningful science learning through project activities based on the surrounding environment. The deep learning approach encouraged students to think critically, creatively, collaboratively, and reflectively during the learning process. Student creativity was seen through the ability to generate ideas, modify projects, and communicate results communicatively. Implementation constraints included limited time, learning facilities, and differences in student abilities. Teachers overcame these constraints through group mentoring, staged project management, and the use of simple media. This study provides implications that deep learning-based PjBL can be an innovative learning alternative in enhancing elementary school students' creativity under the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) e-modules in developing students' 21st-century skills by synthesizing ten Scopus-indexed empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025. Motivated by the growing demand for student-centered and technology-integrated learning, this review aims to consolidate evidence on how PBL-oriented digital modules support key competencies. Following the PRISMA guidelines, the study employed a transparent selection process and combined thematic synthesis with bibliometric analysis (VOSviewer) to identify research trends, dominant themes, and learning outcomes. The findings indicate that PBL e-modules consistently enhance critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity, with the strongest effects reported in critical thinking and collaborative performance. Student motivation and autonomy emerged as important mediating factors, while variations in instructional design and digital platform quality influenced effectiveness across contexts. These results imply that well-structured PBL design and purposeful digital integration are critical for maximizing the impact of e-modules on 21st-century skills, while also highlighting methodological gaps for future research.

Abstract

Background: Early Childhood Education (ECE) has undergone significant transformation in the digital era due to rapid technological advancement, evolving family dynamics, and increasing attention to inclusive education and child well-being. Despite these developments, existing studies remain fragmented and often fail to integrate cognitive development, digital learning, family influence, inclusive pedagogy, and child well-being within a unified framework. Objective: This study aims to systematically analyze research trends, identify existing research gaps, and explore future directions in ECE in the digital era, with a focus on cognitive development, inclusive pedagogy, family influence, and child well-being. Method: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) combined with bibliometric analysis was employed using publications indexed in the Scopus database. Relevant articles were identified through a structured keyword search and screened based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data cleaning was conducted using OpenRefine, while VOSviewer and Biblioshiny were utilized to perform network visualization, thematic mapping, and trend analysis. Results: The findings reveal a notable shift in ECE research from clinically oriented and fragmented approaches toward more integrative and multidisciplinary perspectives. The literature predominantly emphasizes child development, parental involvement, and early intervention. Recent studies increasingly focus on the role of digital technologies in learning environments, particularly in the post-pandemic period. However, technology integration remains insufficiently connected to pedagogical principles. Furthermore, gaps persist in incorporating inclusive education, cultural diversity, and child well-being into digital learning contexts. Conclusion: Advancing ECE in the digital era requires a holistic and integrated approach that combines cognitive and social development, technology-enhanced pedagogy, family and cultural engagement, and child well-being. Such integration is essential for developing adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable early childhood education systems while contributing to educational psychology and child development research.

Abstract

Background: Sudanese University students face significant challenges in English proficiency due to historical Arabicization policies and outdated pedagogical frameworks. While vocabulary is a primary predictor of linguistic success, a systemic gap exists between strategy awareness and long-term lexical retention. Aims: This study investigated the relationship between Vocabulary Learning Strategies (VLS), institutional support, and actual proficiency (receptive and productive) among Sudanese undergraduates. Methods: Using s triangulated quantitative and documentary design ($N=240$), the study utilized the Vocabulary Levels Test (VLT), Lex30, a Likert-scale VLS questionnaire, and a systematic analysis of university syllabi. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) and psychometric validation. Results: Psychometric tools demonstrated strong internal validity ($\text{VLT } \alpha = 0.86$; Lex30 $M = 14.2/30$). Latent profile analysis revealed a severe "Knowledge-Application Gap": 64% of students possess theoretical awareness of exploratory strategies, yet 30% of the total sample occupy an "Overlap Group" experiencing persistent lexical acquisition failures. SEM confirmed that while discovery strategies predict receptive ($\beta = 0.35$) and productive ($\beta = 0.29$) outcomes, consolidation strategies are the strongest predictors of productive mastery ($\beta = 0.41$). Crucially, institutional support moderates strategy effectiveness by 18% ($\beta = 0.18$). Documentary analysis revealed that 83% of syllabi ignore explicit strategy instruction entirely, and 0% feature systematic spaced-retrieval tasks. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that individual learner strategic awareness is heavily suppressed by a systemic instructional vacuum. Sudanese university curricula are overwhelmingly biased toward passive word recognition, failing to provide the structured consolidation routines required to transition vocabulary from short-term memory into active communicative competence. Rectifying this deep-seated proficiency gap requires immediate curriculum reform, institutionalized strategy modeling, and the integration of low-bandwidth, offline-capable digital learning tools.

Abstract

This study aims to map, synthesize, and analyze empirical evidence on intergenerational communication patterns between school principals (Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials) and teachers (Generation X, Millennials, Generation Z) and its impact on learning quality. Method: A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. A search of Google Scholar, ERIC, and Scopus databases (2017–2026) identified 487 articles, of which 25 met the inclusion criteria for in-depth analysis. Results: Findings reveal five key insights: (1) each generation exhibits distinct communication styles shaped by social context and technology adoption; (2) generational gaps create barriers in media preferences, formality norms, and feedback expectations; (3) Generation X principals employing care-based communicative leadership effectively bridge these differences; (4) multi-channel strategies, two-way mentoring, and an inclusive climate enhance cross-generational communication; and (5) effective intergenerational communication significantly improves teacher motivation, collaboration, and learning quality. Novelty: This study uniquely synthesizes cross-generational dynamics across four generations within school leadership, highlighting the underexplored role of Generation X principals as effective mediators. Practical Implication: Findings inform school management policies that are responsive to generational diversity, promoting adaptive communication frameworks. Contribution: The study contributes a consolidated evidence base on intergenerational communication in educational leadership, offering actionable strategies to improve learning quality through enhanced teacher-principal interactions.

Abstract

Background: The integration of environmental issues into junior high school science learning remains limited, reducing opportunities for students to develop scientific literacy through contextual, practical activities. Although science literacy-oriented modules have been developed, practicum modules that focus on converting leachate into liquid organic fertilizer as a contextual learning resource for scientific literacy are still rarely reported.Aim: This investigation sought to create and assess the practicability of a leachate-processing practicum module intended to support scientific literacy among students in junior high school. Methods: The investigation utilized a research and development methodology employing the 4D model, which encompasses the Define, Design, and Develop phases. A restricted implementation was carried out utilizing a one-group pretest–posttest framework. Validation involved four experts. Participants were Grade IX students: 27 completed the response questionnaire and 24 the scientific literacy test, reflecting attendance during the respective data collection sessions. Data were examined utilizing Aiken’s V, descriptive statistics, N-gain, and a paired-sample t-test.Results: The module demonstrated high validity with an Aiken’s V score of 0.961. Student responses exceeded 90%, indicating very positive perceptions of the module. Scientific literacy scores demonstrated an increase from a mean pretest score of 59.17 to a mean posttest score of 89.58, accompanied by an average N-gain of 0.79, which is classified within the high category. Significant differences were found between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001).Conclusion: The developed practicum module is feasible for use in contextual science learning and demonstrates promising effects on students’ scientific literacy in a limited implementation setting.

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines post-foundational shifts in curriculum theory through 13 studies appraised using PRISMA and MMAT 2018. The findings identify four themes: the crisis of foundational curriculum theory; the rise of plural epistemologies; the mediation of knowledge construction through language, power, culture, and digitality; and a synthesised model of curriculum transformation. The study’s novelty lies in integrating decolonial, relational, linguistic, and adaptive debates into one post-foundational framework and proposing a four-movement model that offers a concise conceptual vocabulary for interpreting contemporary curriculum transformation across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Make a Match cooperative learning model in enhancing social studies achievement among seventh-grade students, while considering student motivation as a moderating variable. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group, the study involved 84 students from Al-Azhar 3 Junior High School in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia, who were divided into experimental and control groups using cluster random sampling. Data were collected through a validated achievement test and a motivation questionnaire, then analyzed using ANOVA and independent samples t-tests. The findings indicate that the Make a Match model significantly improves student learning outcomes compared to traditional methods, particularly for students with high motivation. Conversely, students with low motivation benefited more from the Jigsaw model, highlighting a critical interaction effect between instructional strategy and learner characteristics. These results underscore the importance of aligning pedagogical approaches with students’ motivational profiles to optimize academic achievement. The study contributes to the literature on differentiated instruction and cooperative learning by emphasizing the nuanced interplay between teaching methods and student motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics and feasibility of the e-module developed using flip pdf corporate edition to improve the critical thinking skills of high school students. This research is a follow-up research that has been done previously which is only limited to the analysis stage, the method in this research is R n D with the ADDIE model which has five stages, namely; analysis (analysis); design (design), development (development and testing); implementation (use); and evaluation (evaluation), but in this study it was only carried out until the develop stage. The assessment instrument used in this study was an expert validation sheet containing material aspects, language aspects and media aspects. Based on the results of product validation tests by experts, the percentage score of 88% for the material aspect, 92% for the language aspect, 89.58% for the media aspect, and 85% for the critical thinking aspect so that the total average score is 88.6% including the in the very valid category. And the result of student perception response showed very good with a percentage of 87.64 % . Thus, the e-module material on elasticity and Hooke's law uses a flip pdf corporate edition to improve the critical thinking skills of high school students into a product that is feasible to use.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to increase the entrepreneurial spirit of students by utilizing social media in marketing strategies for Cassava Chips products. This study uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. This research was conducted on March 21, 2023, at Bengkulu University. The population and samples taken from this study were physics education students class of 2020. For the population, there were 51 students, while the samples were taken, namely 10 physics education students class of 2020. Observations were made when making observations while the questionnaire contained responses to Cassava Chips products. carried out by students as respondents. The results of this study indicate that the consumed cassava chips are very good and worth selling. The results of the study also stated that utilizing social media in marketing cassava chip products could improve the entrepreneurial spirit of Physics Education students for the better.
