Abstract

Telah dilakukan identifikasi untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang profil learning progression mahasiswa calon guru SD sebagai efek implementasi Visual Multimedia Supported Conceptual Change Text (VMMSCCText). Sebelumnya, VMMSCCText dikembangkan untuk mencapai level conceptual change konstruksi dan rekonstruksi mahasiswa calon guru SD hanya dengan membaca text. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui level conceptual change mahasiswa calon guru SD terkait konsep benda netral setelah mengikuti aktivitas VMMSCCText. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang diimplementasikan pada 30 orang mahasiswa PGSD FKIP Universitas Riau pada mata kuliah Konsep Dasar IPA.  Level conceptual change pada mahasiswa diidentifikasi dengan uji diagnostik dalam format four tier test (FTT) dan penilaian pada LKM, kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan pedoman penentuan level conceptual change. Level conceptual change terdiri dari 1) konsepsi ilmiah sejak awal (KISA); 2) Statis (S); 3) Rekonstruksi (K); 4) Konstruksi (R); dan 5) Disorientasi (D). Hasil penelitian dengan VMMSCCText menunjukkan  level 1) konsepsi ilmiah sejak awal (KISA) sekitar 13,33%; 2) Statis (S) sekitar 6,67%; 3) Rekonstruksi (R) sekitar 76,67%; 4) Konstruksi (K)sekitar 3,33; dan Disorientasi (D) adalah 0%.  Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa VMMSCCText mampu meremediasi miskonsepsi dan mencapai  level conceptual change konstruksi dan rekonstruksi mahasiswa calon guru SD.Kata Kunci: VMMSCCTEXT, Level Conceptual Change dan Remediasi Miskonsepsi. Identification has been done to get a representation of progression learning profile of prospective elementary school teachers as the effect of Visual Multimedia Supported Conceptual Change Text (VMMSCCText) implementation. Previously, VMMSCCText was developed to reach the conceptual change level of construction and reconstruction of prospective elementary school teachers by reading text only. This study aims to determine the level of conceptual change of prospective elementary school teachers related to the concept of a neutral object after following the VMMSCCText activity. The method used is quantitative descriptive method implemented on 30 students of PGSD FKIP University of Riau in Basic Science Basic Course. The conceptual change level of the students is identified by the diagnostic test in the four-tier test (FTT) format and the assessment on the MFI, then analyzed based on the guidance of conceptual change level determination. The conceptual change level consists of 1) early scientific conception (KISA); 2) Static (S); 3) Reconstruction (K); 4) Construction (R); and 5) Disorientation (D). The results of the study with VMMSCCText indicate the level of 1) early scientific conception (KISA) about 13.33%; 2) Static (S) about 6.67%; 3) Reconstruction (R) around 76.67%; 4) Construction (K) about 3.33; and Disorientation (D) is 0%. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that VMMSCCText is able to remediate misconception and achieve conceptual change level of construction and reconstruction of elementary school teacher candidate.Keywords: VMMSCCText, Level of Conceptual Change and Remedy Misconception

Abstract

Kreativitas adalah salah satu kompetensi penting abad ke-21. Kreativitas umumnya hanya memandang aspek fluency, flexibility dan originality, sedangkan kreativitas ilmiah memadukan aspek kreativitas dansains, sehingga diperlukan tes khusus untuk mengukurnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan instrumen tes kreativitas ilmiah pada siswa SMP terkait materi kebumian. Instrumen tes disusun berdasarkan adaptasi dan modifikasi tes kreativitas ilmiah Hu dan Adey (2002). Metode penelitian yangdigunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan model instruksional 4D (define, design, develop, and disseminate) yang dibatasi hanya sampai tahap 2D(define and design). Sebanyak tujuh soal dimodifikasi dengan menyisipkan materi kebumian. Soal dikembangkan ke dalam bentuk semi-openquestion yang memungkinkan siswa dapat memilih pilihan jawaban/tidak memilih/menuliskan jawaban alternatif pada kolom kosong.Melalui tahap define dan design yang dilakukan, telah dikembangkan instrumen tes kreativitas ilmiah untuk siswa SMP dalam materi kebumian berbasis instrumen tes kreativitasilmiah oleh Hu dan Adey.

Abstract

Students' mental models are important to be analyzed properly. Mental models are able to be described for students’ knowledge and diagnosed students’ learning difficulties. This study aims to analyze students' mental models on work and energy concept in the post-pandemic covid-19 era. Students' mental models were measured by four-tier test instrument and analyzed using the wright map. The research study utilizes descriptive-quantitative research method. The participant of this study are 31 K-10 students (13 boys and 18 girls) at high school in the West Java, Indonesia. The data analysis shows that the most student had category of in (51.52%), Sy-D (18.52%), furthermore caterogy Sy-C (13.52%), Sy-B (11.29%), and only less students that had category of Sy-A (2.95%) and Sc (2.2%). It could be concluded that physics learning in forming students' mental models needs to be improvised immediately.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are one of the important elements that must be possessed by students. In learning, critical thinking skills have been applied in learning environments to address student challenges in the 21st century. This study aims to explore students' critical thinking skills during the learning process using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by the probing prompting technique. The method used in this study was a literature review, by analyzing and synthesizing several Physics education journals published in 2017-2022 which discussed critical thinking skills, Problem-Based Learning (PBL) models, and probing prompting techniques with the research sample being students at elaboration of junior, high school, and college students who have different levels of understanding. Based on the results of the 40 journals in this study, it was found that the PBL model assisted by the probing prompting technique is an innovative learning model that can be applied in active learning to improve critical thinking skills, which is one of the dimensions in the Pancasila student profile. This is because this model displays various problems that occur in everyday life, through a series of questions as a guide so that it can stimulate students to seek and find solutions to a problem. The results of this study can be used as recommendations for teachers in classroom learning activities to improve students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an instrument that measures students' attitudes toward physics ang to test its validity and reliability. This instrument was a result of a modification from the PAS Questionnaire, namely IMPAS. This research novelty is making a new instrument that solves the shortcomings in PAS Questionnaire. So, this instrument can be used by teachers and researcers in Indonesia. The target of this IMPAS Questionnaire will be high school students in Indonesia. Using the ADDIE research model, the IMPAS Questionnaire was successfully developed and tested on 156 high school students. The IMPAS Questionnaire consists of 24 positive, negative, neutral positive, and neutral negative statements. The results of the CVR analysis and the Rasch model provide an understanding that the IMPAS Questionnaire has good content and construct validity. So, the IMPAS Questionnaire can be stated to have the ability to measure students' attitudes toward physics accurately. In addition, the results of the Rasch model analysis provide an understanding that the IMPAS Questionnaire has a moderate person reliability, excellent item reliability, and good internal consistency. Therefore, the IMPAS Questionnaire can be stated to have sufficient consistency in measuring students' attitudes toward physics. Thus, the development of an instrument to measure students' attitudes toward physics has been done successfully. Hopefully, this research can contribute to Indonesian education, especially to physics teachers and physics education researchers.

Abstract

Education of Guru Penggerak is the Government's innovation to prepare for future leadership transformation. Before becoming a leader, the teacher mobiliser is required to be the main actor in classroom learning and mobilise peers through a community of practice. Thus, they are expected to become leaders in school management and development. Candidate of Guru Penggerak, after undergoing Education and Training for 6 months covering 10 modules, will become student-centred learning leaders. The implementation of quality student-centred learning has not been optimal and equitable from one region to another. The low level of literacy and numeracy in the education report card has led the Government to launch the Merdeka Belajar Programme. The purpose of the research conducted on prospective Guru Penggerak is to determine the impact of Education of Guru Penggerak on improving learning through improving grades during education and increasing competence in self-development and learning leadership, knowing the motivation of prospective Guru Penggerak after completing education and whether literacy and numeracy materials are needed. The research method uses quantitative descriptive research using data collection techniques of interviews, documentation, questionnaires and observations, pre-test-post test scores and questionnaires on prospective Guru Penggerak. The results obtained from this study are an average increase from the pre-test score of 50.80 to the average post-test score of 64.58 or an increase of 13.77. From the questionnaire, the competence of self-development and others increased from 76.82% to 87.35%. For learning leadership competence there was an increase from 73.03% to 85.04%

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview of the concepts of elasticity and vibration, based on research variables, educational levels, and teaching strategies. The article is organized based on queries conducted in reputable international databases, such as Scopus and Web of Science, using content analysis techniques, such as analyzing article identities, educational information, synthesis of used approaches, and measured variables. In the topics of elasticity and oscillation, qualitative, quantitative, and hybrid methods can be used to investigate a variety of variables, as indicated by the research findings. Among these variables are conceptual comprehension, academic achievement, and student interest. In addition, the educational level being investigated determines how elasticity and oscillation concepts are taught in the classroom. These findings highlight the significance of utilizing a variety of instructional strategies to effectively convey the concept of elasticity and oscillation to measure various variables with practical consideration on educational settings. In addition, our review provides a comprehensive list of common variables research that can serve as a valuable resource for educators and researchers seeking to enhance their elasticity and oscillation research. This systematic review highlights the need for additional research on effective teaching methods for oscillation and provides educators and researchers with useful insights.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the various renewable energy sources that have the potential to be developed on the island of Java, Indonesia. Because it is cheap and easy to reach, non-renewable energy is widely used as a source of energy for people's lives. The negative side of non-renewable energy sources forces local governments to look for alternative energy sources that are more environmentally friendly. Environmentally friendly alternative energy is rarely studied, specifically on the island of Java, through literature studies. Therefore, this study used a research method: a literature study on 28 Scopus, WoS, and Sinta-indexed articles. This literature study yields the information that 10 types of renewable energy sources have the potential to be developed in Java. These renewable energy sources can be further developed using technology according to their potential in each province. Thus, this research has succeeded in linking various renewable energy sources that have the potential to be developed on the island of Java.
