Abstract

In this study, the utilization of oil palm resources will be carried out. One of them is by using palm sap into jelly candy. The purpose of this study was to study the manufacture of jelly candy based on palm sap and to find out the best composition of Carrageenan and HFS in the manufacture of jelly candy based on palm sap. The stages of this research were starting from sap sampling, making jelly candy, sample testing and data processing. The method used in this study was a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) and consisted of 2 factors, each factor having 3 variations. Carrageenan Factor : K1 : 2 %, K2 : 4 % and K3 : 6 %. HFS factor : H1 : 20 %, H2 : 25 %, H3 : 30%. The test was carried out 3 times. Sample testing includes water content, vitamin c content, and organoleptic tests for aroma, taste and texture. From the results of research conducted on 9 treatments: K1H1, K1H2, K1H3, K2H1, K2H2, K2H3, K3H1, K3H2 and K3H3. The interaction of the addition of carrageenan and HFS has no significant effect on the moisture and vitamin C content of jelly candy based on palm sap. There was no interaction that had a significant effect on the addition of Carrageenan and HFS due to the different functions of the ingredients, Carrageenan served to thicken the jelly candy and HFS served to give a sweet taste to the jelly candy. The higher concentration of Carrageenan given is directly proportional to the high content of reducing ash and the higher concentration of HFS given is directly proportional to the high content of reducing sugar. Organoleptic test of taste and aroma all panelists gave normal assessments for all samples, organoleptic test of sample texture K1H1, K1H2, K1H3, dan K2H1 has an abnormal texture, sample K2H2, K2H3, K3H1, K3H2 dan K3H3 has a normal texture. The best treatment is in the K3H3 treatment, the addition of 6% carrageenan & 30% HFS, with a water content of 19.74%. Ash content 1.73%, Vitamin C 1.05%, Reducing sugar 64.19%, organoleptic test value of aroma (normal), taste (normal) and texture (normal). Key words : Palm Sap, Jelly Candy, Carrageenan, High Fructose Syrup

Abstract

Good financial record-keeping is one of the key factors for the successful management of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, many MSMEs, particularly students (santri) at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School who run small and medium enterprises, face various challenges in this regard. The primary issues include a lack of basic accounting knowledge, undocumented financial records, and limited access to resources. These challenges complicate business decision-making, such as determining selling prices, calculating profits, and planning for business expansion. This community service initiative aims to educate MSME students on financial management and record-keeping by providing solutions through the dissemination of simple financial management practices. The proposed approach includes basic accounting training and mentoring. By implementing these solutions, the team hopes that MSME students will better understand the importance of good financial management and be able to independently record and analyze their business finances. The results of this outreach program show that in a pre-test conducted with 20 students, only 4 individuals (20%) scored well. Following the dissemination of simple record-keeping education, the post-test results indicated significant improvement, with 18 students (90%) scoring well. This improvement in skills is expected to support the sustainability and growth of each business being operated.

Abstract

Groundwater is water that sourced from rainwater, river water and others which seeps into the ground and accumulates in a layer called an aquifer. Estimation of the distribution and identification of aquifer geometry is carried out to assist the people of Cot Madhi Village in an effort to design the depth of drilling to obtain water that will be used for their basic and supporting needs. In this measurement, the 1D resistivity geoelectric method is used to determine the resistivity value changes of the rock layer which serves to identify the type of aquifer and the depth of the aquifer for efficient drilling of well activities. The measurement uses Supersting instruments with Wenner-Schlumberger cable configuration. The results showed subsurface resistivity values in the measurement area between 3.4 - 112.1 m. The penetration depth in this measurement is up to 165 meters deep. The resistivity model profile indicates a very economical water layer (aquifer) with a resistivity of 27.3 m located at a depth of 54-84 meters with a thickness of 30 meters. This research found a potential aquifer layer as a source of clean water.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks as the second largest country in terms of the number of tuberculosis (TB) cases. It is estimated that approximately 33% of TB cases remain undiagnosed and unreported. Identifying a health-seeking behavior including diagnostic delay in Jambi Municipality is necessary to increase tuberculosis (TB) case finding. This study aims to identify health-seeking behavior, calculate diagnostic delay, and identify factors associated with diagnostic delay, namely individual, social, and structural aspects among TB cases. This study used a cross-sectional design among bacteriologically confirmed pulmonary TB cases with a new treatment history in Jambi Municipality. The number of participating samples was 135 people with multi-stage random sampling. This study revealed that the most common health-seeking behaviors among TB cases were visiting drug stores/pharmacies (20.7%) and community health centers (CHCs) (20.0%). Diagnostic delay was experienced by 75.7% of TB cases with a median of 48 days and an interquartile range of 22-107 days. Variables associated with diagnostic delay were being unmarried (aOR 0.3, 95%CI 0.1-0.9, p = 0.031), moderate social support (aOR 0.2, 95%CI 0.1-0.6, p = 0.004), visit drugstore/pharmacy after symptom onset (aOR 8, 2, 95%CI 1.6-42.3, p = 0.012), the number of health facility visits made before diagnosis was 2-6 (aOR 3.1, 95%CI 1.1-9.3, p = 0.039), and TB stigma from the community perspective was high (aOR 0.3, 95%CI 0.1-0.8, p = 0.019). Evaluation of public-private mix (PPM) activities, especially those involving pharmacies/drug stores and private health facilities, and evaluation of TB screening at CHCs need to be considered. Massive education, community involvement, and psychosocial support are also needed to prevent delays in TB diagnosis.

Abstract

Landslides are natural disasters that can be caused by high rainfall intensity. Aceh Besar Regency has been hit by landslides 40 times from 2014 to 2023. Aceh Besar Regency serves as an economic connecting route from other cities to the provincial capital of Aceh, Banda Aceh. Therefore, when landslides occur in that area, it will disrupt the economic stability and logistic distribution to other regions. The weighted overlay method maps landslide-prone areas in Aceh Besar Regency. This research aims to create a map of landslide-prone areas in Aceh Besar Regency based on parameters causing landslides, namely slope inclination, rainfall, rock type, soil type, and land cover. The research findings indicate that almost the entire region of Aceh Besar has a moderate to high potential for landslide disasters. The main factor causing landslides in Aceh Besar is its topography, which is dominated by mountains and hills, and the moderate to very high rainfall intensity. The landslide-prone disaster map is validated by landslide incidents recorded by BPBD Aceh Besar from 2014 to 2023, showing results that align with the historical data. This map can be used by relevant authorities and the general public to undertake landslide disaster mitigation in Aceh Besar Regency.
