Abstract

There has been a reduction in prevalence of stunting nationally, the prevalence is still high in several regions, including Kerinci Regency. This study focused on identifying hotspots for stunting cases in Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province, utilizing spatial autocorrelation analysis. The research aimed to pinpoint specific regions with high prevalence of stunting in 2019, 2020, and 2021, highlighting the importance of tailored interventions at the village level to combat stunting effectively. This research utilized data on stunting cases sourced from the community-based nutrition recording and reporting system (e-PPGBM) from 2019 to 2021. Spatial autocorrelation analysis was conducted using the global and local indicator for spatial auto correlation (LISA) with village as the analysis unit. This study found the Moran Index values in 2019, 2020, and 2021 were 0.148, 0177, and 0.238 respectively. Hotspots were found in specific regions of the regency in each year, with shifts in distribution patterns observed. In 2019, hotspots were in the southwest region, in 2020 in the central part, and in 2021 in the southwest region. These findings highlight the importance of targeted interventions at the village level to address issues effectively. Continued monitoring and targeted efforts are crucial to address the shifting patterns and improve the overall nutritional status of the population.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a chronic disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis is one of the risky diseases in Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) because it is far from health aspects, lack of nutritional knowledge, smoking habits and their work which requires interaction with the outside community, thus becoming a source of disease transmission. The aim of this research is to determine the factors associated with the incidence of tuberculosis in the Anak Dalam Tribe (SAD) in Bukit Suban Village, Sarolangun Regency. Methods: This type of research is quantitative research using an analytical observational design with a cross sectional approach. The research sample is the community of Children in the Nggrib Group, namely 30 people using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used a questionnaire and data analysis was carried out using the chi-square statistical test. Results: The research results showed that the proportion of tuberculosis in SAD Bukit Suban Village was 13.3%. The results of bivariate analysis of statistical tests show that there is a relationship between nutritional status (p-value 0.037 <0.05) and smoking habits (p-value 0.026 <0.05) on the incidence of tuberculosis. However, employment (p-value 0.960 > 0.05) has no relationship with the incidence of tuberculosis in SAD in Bukit Suban Village, Sarolangun Regency. Conclusion: Factors such as nutritional status and smoking habits have a relationship with the incidence of tuberculosis, but work has no relationship with the incidence of tuberculosis in the SAD community of Bukit Suban Village

Abstract

Treatment of hypertension can be done through a healthy lifestyle and the use of antihypertensive drugs. The use of antihypertensive drugs alone has proven to be insufficient in controlling blood pressure in the long term effectively. Compliance with drug consumption is also a very important factor. This type of finding is quantitative through a cross sectional design. The sample selection technique uses simple random sampling. Data was collected through questionnaires, then univariate and bi-variate data analysis using the chi-square test. The frequency distribution of medication adherence levels by hypertensive patients at Kebun Handil Community Health Center, Jambi City, highlights the existence of significant problems in medication adherence among the population studied. The analysis shows that not all demographic and environmental factors have a significant relationship to the level of adherence to taking hypertension medication.

Abstract

Central obesity in women of reproductive age can have a negative impact on their health and is associated with the occurrence of metabolic diseases. This study aims to determine the factors associated with central obesity in women aged 15-49 years in Indonesia in 2023 using 2023 SKI data with a cross-sectional study design. The study sample was 213,309 women of reproductive age obtained using the linear systematic sampling technique. Data analysis was carried out up to multivariate analysis using the Cox Regression test. The results showed that the prevalence of central obesity in women of reproductive age was 49.11%. Age [PR = 1.96 (95% CI: 1.93 - 2.00)], occupation [PR = 1.20 (95% CI: 1.19 - 1.22)], and place of residence [PR = 1.08 (95% CI: 1.07 - 1.10)] were found to be associated with an increased risk of central obesity. Meanwhile, education level [PR = 0.97 (95% CI: 0.95 – 0.98)], physical activity [PR = 0.93 (95% CI: 0.91 – 0.94)], and emotional mental disorders [PR = 0.75 (95% CI: 0.70 – 0.80)] were found to be protective factors against central obesity. The most dominant factor with the occurrence of central obesity is age. Therefore, it is important for WUS to be aware of the risk of central obesity and implement appropriate preventive measures. Preventive efforts can be done by maintaining hormonal balance and body metabolism through a healthy lifestyle, as well as undergoing regular health checks.

Abstract

Receptive mapping is a crucial step in supporting policymakers in determining intervention priorities and formulating effective strategies in malaria control programs. Technical training on creating malaria receptive maps using the open-source application Quantum GIS (QGIS) was conducted for five staff members of the Disease Prevention and Control Division (P2P) at the Batang Hari District Health Office. The training aimed to improve participants' knowledge and skills in creating malaria receptive maps for malaria control. The training used simulation and hands-on methods, so that participants had knowledge and practical experience in map-making. Pre- and post-training evaluations were conducted using questionnaires and work products in the form of malaria receptive maps. Pre-test results showed that 60% of staff had good knowledge and practical skills in receptive mapping, while 40% showed poor understanding. After the training, all participants (100%) showed good knowledge and were able to make malaria receptive maps independently. Awareness of the importance of malaria control from the vector aspect is still uneven and needs attention in every region, especially in areas that have achieved low malaria endemicity or even free of malaria. Increased malaria mapping capacity is expected to contribute to better surveillance and control efforts at the Batang Hari Health Office.
