Abstract

This study examines the contradictory speech between the two main characters in the film "Lovely Man" through a pragmatic approach. The film tells the story of the relationship between a student and her father, who is a transvestite, showing differences in backgrounds and complex social conflicts. Through dialogue analysis, this study found that contradictory speech reflects social tensions, hidden feelings, gender identity issues, and social stigma. Contradictory speech not only serves as a means of communication but also as a reflection of the social and cultural background of its characters. This study uses a qualitative approach with a pragmatic analysis method to examine contradictory speech in the movie "Lovely Man." The data is taken from a fragment of dialogue between the two main characters, Cahaya and Ipuy, in the film. This study uses pragmatic matching methods and data analysis techniques in the form of observation and recording techniques. The methodological steps used in this study include data classification, analyzing data based on a theoretical framework, and drawing conclusions based on data analysis. This research provides in-depth insights into how social contexts affect verbal and non-verbal communication. This can benefit academics, communication practitioners, filmmakers, and the general public in understanding and managing complex social interactions.

Abstract

Large families are very common in Indonesian culture. Individuals living in extended families with multigenerational childcare responsibilities are known as the Sandwich Generation. The challenges involved in multi-generational parenting impact the lifestyle of the Sandwich Generation as a whole, including personal time, career development, and financial stability. The Sandwich Generation is at risk for various mental health problems, including stress, depression, and anxiety, due to increased pressure and demands. The objective of this research is to see the picture of well-being support in the sandwich generation as reflected in the films Cinta Pertama, Kedua, dan Ketiga. The research method used to review the films Cinta Pertama, Kedua, dan Ketiga is Content Analysis by Philip Mayring with an interpretive paradigm. Abstraction, explication, and arrangement were carried out to analyze this film. There are three things that can be concluded from the content analysis of the films Cinta Pertama, Kedua, dan Ketiga. First, the dynamics of the life of the sandwich generation are described as full of problems. Second, the main character Dewa is described as having well-being support from his family. Third, the well-being support obtained cannot be separated from the standard culture that exists in Indonesia, namely Guyub, where people live in harmony and support each other as a family member.

Abstract

Abstract (Bahasa Inggris) The study aimed to investigate the impact resulting from the prioritization of information and information exposure on cases of Acute Kidney Injury in Children, specifically examining the level of anxiety among young mothers who follow the Instagram account @mpasibayisehat. This research uses three theories, that is Agenda Setting Theory for variable X1 of prioritization of information; Cultivation Theory for variable X2 of information exposure; and Anxiety and Uncertainty Management Theory for variable Y of level of anxiety. The coefficient analysis results reveal that factor X1 yielded a t-value of 5.350, while variable X2 showed a t-value of 2.729. Additionally, the ANOVA table indicates that the calculated F-value is 219.652. This suggests a significant impact between each independent factor and the dependent factor. Furthermore, collectively, the independent factors also have a significant impact on the dependent variable. In this context, considering the coefficient of determination, the influence of variable X on Y can be measured at a substantial 81.5%. These findings illustrate that the observed influence falls into the category of very high impact. The study method applies descriptive qualitative, with a semiotic analysis approach from Roland Barthes. The study results show that the drama Memories Of The AlHambra in denotation meaning, which tells a game created to find the lost game master with various conflicts. The connotation meaning is that these two characters have their own habits, a very high ambitious spirit related to the development of their company, J-One Holdings. The myth in this scene is very pro and con because many say religion should not be "dramatised". There is no theory that Fatima's hand is the key to heaven but in the drama Muslims believe Fatima's hand is the key to heaven, therefore there is a legend about the gate of justice on the day the key to heaven meets Fatima's hand, the gate will be opened and the AlHambra palace will collapse. As for Islamic values, they are found in the drama, namely, the value of worship, moral values, sharia values, moral values, and local wisdom values. There are plot principles in this drama, namely plot of actions, plot of characters and plot of though.

Abstract

Social media has also become a public sphere for people to express all expressions, opinions, ideas, and feelings, including conveying hate speech. In Indonesia, there are many forms of hate speech, one of which leads to issues of racism and religious and state sentiment. This study will identify the problem of hate speech related to religion and the state on social media. This study is a descriptive qualitative study by taking data from Social Media Analysts using a query for hate speech words that have a relationship between religion and the state that are popular in Indonesia, namely the terms Kadrun and Cebong. The first result shows that around 52,290 thousand mentions containing hate speech using the word kadrun and 25,290 thousand statements using the word cebong as a form of negative response to issues that contribute to the background, the case of contradiction between religion and the state. The second religious issue has become a trending issue in the digital era and is most readily associated with political matters in spreading hate speech. Three Twitter media are one of the most frequently used social media platforms compared to other media in spreading hate speech by Indonesia's digital community. This research implies the development of perspectives from both labels to bring down the opposition's reputation during certain political events.

Abstract

Women have their own challenges facing gender stereotypes in the workplace. For Indonesian people who are generally close to a patriarchal culture, men and women are considered to have different roles and natures. The assumption of society that is created from the existence of gender stereotypes makes women have limitations in getting the same opportunities and rights as men in the public sphere. This gender stereotype later becomes an invisible barrier for working women or called as the glass ceiling. The glass ceiling that women get from the existence of gender stereotypes is divided into two, self-concept as an internal factor and patriarchal culture and multiple role as an external factor. The glass ceiling effect in companies has an impact on the tendency of companies to choose men for top positions, the practices of recruitment of gender-based recruitment, the existence of behavior and culture resulting from gender stereotypes that underestimate women's abilities, and the strengthening formation of cultural structures within a company based on gender roles. This paper is a conceptual idea that uses the literature review method to determine the extent to which gender stereotypes in Indonesia are seen as creating barriers for female workers. Keywords: gender stereotypes, glass ceiling, multiple roles, patriarchal culture, self-conceptPerempuan memiliki tantangan tersendiri menghadapi stereotip gender dalam lingkungan pekerjaan.
