Abstract

A will is a part of human life related to a person's message regarding the gift of the property after death. The existence of problems with wills made orally causes issues in the family. In granting this will, several requirements must be completed so that the wills do not cause problems in the future. The normative juridical research approach, descriptive-analytical research specifications, data collection through secondary data in the form of library research and documentation studies, and qualitative analysis methods. The study results found that the will was made with a notary deed to ensure legal certainty. In applying the principle of justice, it is necessary to limit the granting of wills, from the perspective of the Islamic law that a will is only allowed a maximum of 1/3 of the entire inheritance. Meanwhile, in the perspective of civil law, granting wills must pay attention to the provisions of the Legitieme Portie or the share of property that must be given to the heirs in a straight line to create justice for the heirs.

Abstract

Breast cancer remains the leading cause of death among women worldwide. Resistance to chemotherapy and adverse effects of conventional treatments have driven the search for alternative therapeutic agents derived from natural compounds. One of the key molecular targets involved in cancer cell apoptosis is the Bcl-2 protein family. This study aimed to systematically review in silico molecular docking studies of natural compounds from tropical plants and synthetic molecules targeting the Bcl-2 protein as potential therapeutic agents for breast cancer. A total of 21 original research articles published in the last five years were analyzed based on the source of compounds (plant-derived or synthetic), active constituents, protein database (PDB) codes, and binding affinity values. The results indicated that most compounds demonstrated strong inhibitory potential against Bcl-2, with notable examples such as Niaziminin B from Moringa oleifera (−14.96 kcal/mol) showing one of the highest binding affinities. This review highlights the potential of natural compounds from tropical plants and synthetic molecules as promising candidates for breast cancer therapy through Bcl-2 inhibition. Further in vitro and in vivo studies are required to confirm their biological activity and toxicity profiles in the drug development process. Keywords: Breast cancer; Bcl-2; Molecular docking; Tropical plants; Synthetic compounds.

Abstract

The textile industry in Indonesia contributes significantly to the country’s foreign exchange earnings, but synthetic dye waste has a negative impact on the environment. Natural dyes derived from plant waste can serve as an environmentally friendly alternative, but previous research has had limitations, such as low colorfastness, unstable colors, low pigment concentration, and suboptimal extraction and fixation methods. This study used 10 × 10 cm pieces of Hero cotton fabric dyed with natural dyes derived from areca nuts (*Areca catechu*) and ironwood (*Eusideroxylon zwageri*), which contain tannins that produce brown hues. The research process included scouring, mordanting, dyeing, fixation, and wet rub testing using 1% fixatives consisting of alum, lime, vinegar, tunjung salt, softener, and lemon. Color analysis was performed colorimetrically using a colorimeter app on an Android smartphone with L*, a*, and b* parameters. The results showed that all fixatives except lime increased brightness (L*). Alum, softener, and lemon reduced red intensity, while lime, vinegar, and rock salt increased it. All fixatives except lime reduced yellow intensity. The wet rub test caused an increase in brightness as well as a decrease in red and yellow intensity on the fixed fabric.
