Abstract

This study aims to identify Students' Independent Learning Strategies in Understanding and Developing Subject Matter that has been obtained at School at SMPN 6 Mataram. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects of the study involved students of SMPN 6 Mataram who have various learning preferences. The results of the study indicate that Students' Independent Learning Strategies consist of: (1) Identification of effective independent learning methods for students, (2) The influence of motivation and discipline on the success of independent learning, (3) Utilization of technology-based learning media to support understanding of the material, (4) Obstacles faced by students in implementing independent learning strategies, and (5) The role of teacher guidance in helping students determine appropriate learning strategies. This study provides insight into the importance of independent learning as an effort to improve students' understanding of subject matter and prepare them to become lifelong learners.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the abilities of students and teachers in the teaching and learning process and to measure students including the ability to analyze and the ability to sort out an activity that increases literacy. The author also hopes that in the future each student will be able to practice and read better in order to create good literacy in their environment in terms of learning activities. With this, the method used is a quantitative method, namely a combination of data processing techniques with observation so that it produces good and good research in the future and the author also concludes that each study or observation will have limited data so that the author concludes that students who lack literacy are caused by environmental factors, themselves and the will which includes teaching methods and teaching and learning actions applied in schools and teachers will also include extra teaching and learning because this literacy is carried out by students based on their own will and abilities based on what they want so that being a teacher is the most noble thing because it is in accordance with his duties to educate those who cannot become able to so that it produces students who have noble character, good and polite speech in it and improve good literacy skills in the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Pramuka sebagai laboratorium karakter dalam membentuk disiplin dan nasionalisme siswa di SMPN 7 Mataram. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis causal comparative dan desain ex-post facto. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 35 siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan Pramuka secara rutin maupun tidak rutin. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan dokumentasi, kemudian diuji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, serta homogenitas sebelum dilakukan analisis hipotesis dengan uji korelasi Pearson, koefisien determinasi, dan independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan Pramuka memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap pembentukan karakter disiplin (87,6%) dan nasionalisme siswa (74,1%). Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara siswa yang aktif dengan yang kurang aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan Pramuka, di mana siswa yang aktif menunjukkan tingkat disiplin dan nasionalisme yang lebih tinggi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa Pramuka berfungsi sebagai ruang strategis untuk mengintegrasikan nilai keteraturan (disiplin) dan cinta tanah air (nasionalisme) dalam upaya membangun generasi muda yang berkarakter, berintegritas, dan siap menghadapi tantangan kebangsaan di masa depan.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance teacher professionalism through scientific article writing training in Mataram City. The program was motivated by the low academic writing competence among teachers, with only about 30% having prior publication experience. A total of 35 participants, consisting of 25 junior high school teachers and 10 pre-service teachers, were involved in activities that included socialization, intensive workshops, mentoring, and the use of supporting technologies such as Mendeley, Turnitin, and Google Classroom. Evaluation through pre-test and post-test demonstrated an improvement in participants’ scores from 67% to 78%, representing an 11% increase, with the highest achievement in academic ethics (85%). Furthermore, participants successfully developed article drafts, one of which was prepared for submission to a SINTA 4–accredited journal, and established a scientific writing community along with the production of a textbook Writing Educational Articles: From Ideas to Publication as additional outputs. These results indicate that practice-based training, personal mentoring, and the integration of technology are effective in improving academic literacy and teacher professionalism. The novelty of this program lies in combining academic literacy training with the creation of sustainable outputs (textbook and community), making it a replicable model for other regions with similar challenges.

Abstract

Evaluation of the learning process (through non-test) is often ignored by madrasah teachers in Mataram, at least getting less attention than learning outcomes (tests) as it is known that education is oriented to results and the process. Evaluation of learning outcomes and learning processes must be carried out in a balanced and simultaneous manner. Non-test evaluation tools are an essential part that must be considered by teachers, in addition, to test evaluation tools. If the teacher does not develop a non-test evaluation, it will impact the acquisition of student learning outcomes that do not describe the actual ability of a subject. Based on this consideration, training in the preparation of non-test evaluation tools is urgently needed so that teachers can carry out comprehensive evaluations using test and non-test tools. This service activity is in the form of training in preparing non-test evaluation tools in the madrasa environment. The method of implementing this activity follows the stages of preparation, observation of partner madrasas, training in the preparation of non-test evaluation tools, and follow-up. The activity results indicate that all stages of the activity went well and produced the product as determined. In addition, there has been an increase in participants' understanding and skills in preparing non-test evaluation instruments. It is evidenced by the average posttest score (75.00) is better than the pretest (32.12). This positive change is the answer to teacher problems in developing learning evaluations in madrasas.

Abstract

SMP Negeri 10 Mataram ditetapkan sebagai sekolah penggerak, karena peran para guru yang mampu memaksimalkan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya dan saling bekerja sama sesuai dengan tuntutan dunia pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja profesional guru SMP Negeri 10 Mataram dalam pembinaan karir melalui sekolah penggerak. Guru merupakan objek penelitian ini dengan fokus permasalahan pada (1) kinerja profesional guru, (2) standar kualifikasi akademik guru, dan (3) usaha sekolah dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme guna mengembangkan karir guru. Metode penelitian ini jenisnya kualitatif berbentuk studi kasus, dimana untuk mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Setelah dilakukan analisis data secara studi kasus, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) semua guru SMP Negeri 10 Mataram telah memenuhi standar kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, kepribadian, dan sosial yang ditetapkan dalam UU, (2) semua guru telah memenuhi standar kualifikasi akademik yang tinggi, sehingga berguna bagi pembinaan karirnya, dan (3) untuk meningkatkan kinerja profesional guru, pihak sekolah melakukan kegiatan in house training, komunitas belajar, dan workshop, serta pelatihan mandiri melalui Platform Merdeka Mengajar (PMM).
