Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies used by elementary school teachers in developing students' curiosity character. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews with four elementary school teachers. The findings reveal that teachers can foster curiosity in students through various strategies, such as creating an interactive classroom environment, applying project-based learning methods, assigning exploratory tasks, posing open-ended questions, and utilizing technology and educational videos. Several challenges faced by teachers include limited time to explore topics in depth, differences in students’ interests and abilities, lack of parental support, and limited access to technology at students’ homes. The study also found a positive correlation between students' curiosity and their academic performance. Students with high levels of curiosity tend to be more active in seeking information, gain a deeper understanding of the material, and demonstrate better learning outcomes. This study is expected to contribute to the development of effective and relevant teaching strategies for character education in elementary schools.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out at Gugus 3 Public Elementary School, Pasir Penyu District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, with the aim of empowering elementary school teachers in designing sustainable environmental education projects based on local potential. Teachers in this area still face limitations in learning resources, understanding of environmental issues, and teaching media that are contextual to students' lives. This program is designed to increase teachers' capacity in developing and implementing environmental education pocketbooks as relevant thematic learning media and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The implementation of this community service activity is carried out through four main stages: planning, implementation, training, and evaluation. Each stage is interconnected and makes a significant contribution to program achievements. The training combines theory, discussion, and direct practice so that teachers are able to integrate environmental issues into learning. Evaluation results show that the program received a very positive response from participants with an average satisfaction score of 91.08%. Teachers reported an increase in understanding of sustainability principles, skills in designing teaching media, confidence in developing pocketbooks, and motivation to involve students in environmental projects. Although there are still challenges in the form of limited resources, this activity has proven effective in strengthening the role of teachers as agents of change in forming an environmentally aware generation and encouraging the realization of sustainable development in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics subjects of class II students of SDN 126 Pekanbaru by implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study uses a stage method according to the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model, there are stages in 1 cycle such as planning, action, observation, and reflection. The technique of collecting student learning outcome data is by giving a written test after PBL-based learning and observing learning during the research process. The value in cycle 1 shows a percentage of completion of 50%, the results have not met the KKM value of 80%. Then, in cycle 2 shows an increase in the percentage of completion to 78%. In cycle 3 the percentage of completion increased to 90%, the results have met the specified KKM value. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model can improve the learning outcomes of class 2 students of SDN 126 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This study aims to review various research findings on the application of the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model in Natural Science (IPA) education at the elementary school level. The POE model is known to be effective in stimulating students' conceptual understanding because it links students' initial predictions, direct observations, and explanations based on the observations. The method used in this study is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of several relevant national journals. The results of the study indicate that the POE model is capable of improving learning outcomes, encouraging critical thinking skills, and fostering a stronger conceptual understanding among elementary school students.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Education is a fundamental right of every citizen, guaranteed by the constitution, with the aim of educating the nation and creating a civil society. In Indonesia, education has adapted greatly to the developments and needs of the times. Faced with the challenges of changing times, a rapid and appropriate transition in education is needed to produce graduates who are able to adapt. School principals play a key role in improving the competence of teachers as the frontline implementers of new regulations on education. The ability of school principals to motivate, guide, and understand technological developments is important so that teachers have the enthusiasm and ability to design the latest learning methods, especially 21st-century technology-based learning. Thus, school principals are required to be able to adapt their leadership to the current situation. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. There are two main focuses: 1) How is the leadership of the principal at SDN 67 Pekanbaru from a situational leadership perspective? 2) How does the principal at SDN 67 Pekanbaru make decisions from a situational leadership perspective? 3) How does the principal prepare teachers to implement 21st-century technology-based learning from a situational leadership perspective? This research is expected to provide in-depth knowledge and insight into the leadership of the principal and the principal's ability to face the challenges of 21st-century technology-based learning at SDN 67 Pekanbaru from a situational leadership perspective.

Abstract

Budaya organisasi dan kepemimpinan merupakan faktor esensial yang menentukan keberhasilan suatu organisasi dalam mencapai tujuan strategisnya. Budaya organisasi mencerminkan sistem nilai, norma, dan praktik yang mengatur perilaku anggota, sedangkan kepemimpinan memegang peran kunci dalam mengarahkan, mempertahankan, serta mengubah budaya tersebut sesuai kebutuhan organisasi. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hakikat dan dimensi budaya organisasi serta mengidentifikasi bentuk perubahan kepemimpinan yang terjadi sebagai respons terhadap perubahan organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi literatur dan wawancara untuk memperoleh gambaran empiris dan konseptual yang komprehensif. Hasil kajian mengungkapkan bahwa perubahan organisasi, baik yang bersifat struktural, teknologi, maupun kebijakan, menuntut pemimpin untuk menunjukkan kemampuan adaptif dan transformasional dalam memastikan proses perubahan berjalan efektif. Pemimpin juga harus mampu mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai baru dalam budaya organisasi sekaligus menjaga stabilitas operasional. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa hubungan antara budaya organisasi dan kepemimpinan bersifat dinamis dan saling memengaruhi, serta menjadi faktor penentu dalam keberhasilan transformasi organisasi secara berkelanjutan

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research (CAR) that aims to improve the activity and learning outcomes of science through the application of the Cooperative Learning model in fifth-grade students of SDN 187 Pekanbaru. The research subjects were 38 students. The research was conducted in two cycles, where each cycle included the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation of student activities and science learning outcome tests. Student activity data were analyzed using percentages, while learning outcome data were analyzed by comparing the increase in scores in each cycle. The results showed that the application of the Cooperative Learning model can improve students' activities and learning outcomes of science. Student activity in cycle I meeting 1 reached 70.83% with a sufficient category, then increased to 87.5% with a good category in cycle I meeting 2, and again increased to 91.67% with a very good category in cycle II meeting 1. In line with the increase in student activity, the results of learning science also increased, namely by 12,77% in cycle I meeting 1 and increased in cycle I meeting 2 to 36.21% and increased again in cycle II meeting 1 from the basic score, with the total student score reaching 3345 with a percentage of 39.35%. Thus, it can be concluded that the Cooperative Learning model in increasing the activity and results of learning science of class V students of SDN 187 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a chatbot learning media based on Smojo.ai that is feasible and practical for use in Natural Science (IPA) subjects for grade 6 of SDN 96 Pekanbaru, especially on the Solar System material. This research is motivated by the limited variety of learning media in schools which are still dominated by conventional media. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the study indicate that the developed product is declared Very Feasible and Very Practical. The data analysis technique used is descriptive percentage statistics. The results of the study show that: (1) The results of validation by material, media, and language experts obtained an average score of 90.66% with a very feasible category; (2) The results of small group trials with students obtained a score of 91.09% with a very practical category; and (3) The results of practical trials by teachers obtained a score of 90.83% with a very practical category. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the chatbot learning media based on Smojo.ai is very practical.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by animated videos in IPAS learning on the learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects consisted of students from classes III A and III B at the selected elementary school, with a total of 35 students. Based on the results obtained from the pre-test and post-test instruments, it was found that the class taught using the Project-Based Learning model assisted by animated videos achieved higher learning outcomes compared to the class that relied solely on textbooks during the learning process. This finding was supported by the results of the Independent Samples Test, which showed a significance value (2-tailed) of < 0.001, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. Therefore, the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model assisted by animated videos has a significant effect on the IPAS learning result of elementary school students in Phase A.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam tradisi Randai Kumayang Bagoyang sebagai salah satu seni pertunjukan khas masyarakat Melayu di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi, Provinsi Riau. Fokus kajian meliputi sejarah perkembangan, struktur pertunjukan, nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung, serta tantangan dan peluang pelestariannya di tengah arus modernisasi. Tradisi Randai tidak hanya berperan sebagai media hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai sarana penyampaian pesan moral, pembentukan karakter, dan pelestarian budaya lokal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap tokoh tradisi lokal dan dokumentasi literatur relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Randai Kumayang Bagoyang merupakan bentuk teater rakyat yang memadukan unsur musik, tari, silat, dan drama dalam format pertunjukan melingkar, yang mencerminkan nilai kebersamaan. Meskipun menghadapi tantangan dari budaya populer dan minimnya dukungan pemerintah, tradisi ini tetap hidup melalui inisiatif komunitas dan dapat menjadi potensi pendidikan budaya serta aset wisata daerah apabila dikelola secara berkelanjutan.
