Abstract

Strengthening independent learning at the elementary school level has become a strategic priority in 21st-century learning, amid increasing demands for critical, collaborative, and reflective thinking skills. However, independent learning among elementary school students is often considered underdeveloped due to their age and dependence on teacher guidance. This study aims to analyze in depth how the application of the ADLX-Introflex approach facilitates the growth of student learning independence at the Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT). The study uses a phenomenological qualitative approach, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and learning documentation. Thematic and cross-case analyses were conducted to trace the gradual shift in learning regulation patterns throughout the learning cycle. This analysis was conducted to reveal the structure of students’ learning experiences during the implementation of ADLX-Introflex.  The results showed that the Active Deep Learner eXperience (ADLX)-based learning design, reinforced through the Introflex cycle, which includes individualization, interaction, observation, and reflection, shaped reflective, internalized learning independence. Students showed initiative in completing tasks, the ability to manage learning strategies contextually, and awareness of their learning processes and responsibilities. These findings challenge the assumption that independence in learning develops only at higher levels of education. Implicitly, the ADLX-Introflex approach can serve as a strategic pedagogical framework for building a foundation for long-term learning autonomy from elementary education onward.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of augmented reality (AR)-based diorama media on solar system material in improving elementary school students’ critical thinking skills and learning motivation. The problem in this study is the low level of students’ critical thinking skills and learning motivation due to learning that is still abstract, less interactive, and unable to visualize concepts concretely. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design (nonequivalent control group design). The research sample consisted of 60 students, including 30 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. Data collection techniques used a critical thinking skills test and a learning motivation questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using an independent samples t-test.The results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group in terms of critical thinking skills and learning motivation (p < 0.05). The experimental group showed higher mean scores compared to the control group, indicating that the use of AR-based diorama media had a significant positive effect. These findings indicate the novelty in integrating augmented reality technology with diorama media to visualize abstract concepts more concretely. Therefore, AR-based diorama media can be an innovative, interactive, and contextual learning alternative in improving students’ critical thinking skills and learning motivation in science learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how educational management develops a local wisdom-based curriculum as a strategy to improve learning quality. This study employs a multi-case qualitative design conducted in three public high schools in Aceh: SMA 1 banda Aceh, SMA 3 Banda Aceh, and SMA 1 Pidie. Data were collected from 20 participants, including school principals, teachers, students, and customary leaders, through semi-structured in-depth interviews, non-participant classroom observations, and analysis of curriculum-related documents such as syllabi, lesson plans, and school program records. Data were analyzed thematically using a systematic coding process involving open, axial, and selective coding to identify patterns across cases and construct conceptual categories. Findings show that local wisdom functions as strategic curriculum capital, strengthening institutional legitimacy, increasing student engagement in learning, and fostering a more solid moral and social identity. The integration of values such as hospitality ethics, collective solidarity, and customary norms not only enriches teaching materials but also builds collaborative governance between schools and communities. The professional transformation of teachers occurs through a shift in their role from material deliverers to designers of culturally based, contextually relevant curricula. This model results in increased learning relevance, active student participation, and community trust in schools. This study formulates a Strategic Cultural Curriculum Management model that positions local wisdom as a form of educational managerial capital. Its contribution broadens the discourse on curriculum management, educational governance, and learning quality in the global context.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital-based learning media on learning interest and academic achievement among elementary school students in Indonesia. Using a systematic literature review and SWOT analysis, the research synthesizes data from studies published between 2020 and 2025. The results indicate that digital media, including gamification (Quizizz, Kahoot, Wordwall) and immersive technologies (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality), significantly enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding. Statistical meta-analysis shows an effect size ranging from 1.07 to 2.49, which is considered highly significant in educational interventions. The integration of digital tools facilitates the visualization of abstract concepts, bridging the cognitive gap for students in the concrete operational stage. However, the success of digital implementation is heavily contingent upon teacher competency within the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework and the availability of infrastructure. This report provides a detailed abstract and a comprehensive conclusion as requested, emphasizing that joyful learning through digital media is a viable solution for post-pandemic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The background of this research focuses on the importance of the quality of education which is influenced by the ability of teachers to design and implement effective learning. This study aims to analyze the pedagogic competence of teachers and the challenges faced in their application after participating in the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program in elementary schools. The method used is a literature review by reviewing various scientific journals from 2016 to 2024 related to pedagogic competence and teacher performance. The database information used for this article is Google Scholar. Data were obtained using the keywords "pedagogic competence," "teacher performance," and "PPG." The inclusion criteria used include journals published between 2016 and 2024, so only relevant and current articles are considered. The main focus is on how teachers' pedagogic competencies affect their performance after participating in the PPG program. The findings suggest that although PPG aims to improve teachers' skills, many struggle to apply the theories learned in daily practice. Obstacles such as lack of facilities, limited time, and school support are the main factors that hinder it. The implications of this study emphasize the need for policies that support teachers' professional development in an ongoing manner, including the provision of time for reflection and evaluation. The authors recommend that further research be conducted to explore other variables that can affect the implementation of pedagogic competencies, as well as to improve the quality of education in Indonesia as a whole.  Insert   Translations of the preposition

Abstract

Academic supervision conducted by school supervisors is fundamentally intended to improve the quality of learning and teacher professionalism; however, in practice, it is still dominated by administrative and evaluative approaches, making it less optimal as a professional learning mechanism. This study aims to examine the implementation of Education Report-based academic supervision in strengthening the quality of the learning process in primary schools, identify existing research gaps, and formulate directions for more effective supervision development. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method combined with gap analysis of various national and international studies. The findings indicate that academic supervision has significant potential to enhance learning quality when implemented systematically, collaboratively, and reflectively; however, a gap remains between its ideal conceptual framework and its practical implementation. Furthermore, the integration of data in supervision practices is still limited due to low data literacy and insufficient institutional support. Therefore, a transformative data-driven academic supervision model is needed, integrating teacher professional development, pedagogical reflection, and evidence-based decision making grounded in the Education Report.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe elementary school students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities based on Polya’s problem-solving stages across different problem types (LOTS and HOTS) and school contexts. A descriptive quantitative design was employed involving 95 fourth-grade students from six elementary schools. Data were collected through a mathematical problem-solving test consisting of five essay questions developed according to Polya’s four stages: understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. The results showed that students achieved the highest performance in the plan stage (63.68%), followed by understanding the problem (60.05%), while lower achievement was observed in devising a plan (40.11%) and looking back (37.63%). The overall average problem-solving achievement was 50.37%. A comparison between LOTS and HOTS problems revealed that students consistently performed better on LOTS tasks across all Polya stages, whereas HOTS tasks presented substantial difficulties, particularly in planning solution strategies and evaluating answers. These findings indicate that procedural skills still dominate students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities, while strategic reasoning and reflective thinking remain underdeveloped. The study highlights the importance of instructional practices that explicitly support all stages of Polya’s framework through problem-based learning, mathematical justification, guided reflection, and differentiated instruction, thereby strengthening students’ problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of academic supervision on teachers’ pedagogical competence using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The problem addressed in this study is the still suboptimal pedagogical competence of teachers, which affects the quality of learning. Data were collected by reviewing relevant scientific articles using keywords such as “academic supervision” and “pedagogical competence.” From an initial search of 30 articles, 15 articles were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings indicate that academic supervision has a positive and significant effect on teachers’ pedagogical competence. Effective supervision, conducted systematically and continuously, enhances teachers’ ability to plan, implement, and evaluate learning. In addition, collaborative, reflective, and coaching-based supervision approaches are proven to be more effective than administrative approaches. The study also reveals that the effectiveness of academic supervision is influenced by factors such as the competence of school principals, teachers’ motivation, and school climate. However, several challenges remain, including limited time, heavy workload, and teachers’ negative perceptions of supervision. In conclusion, academic supervision is an effective strategy for improving teachers’ pedagogical competence and should be implemented in a more innovative, collaborative, and sustainable manner to enhance the overall quality of education.
