Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role, constraints, and solutions of the principal in implementing supervision to improve teacher competency at SD Negeri 6 Banyuasin I. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the principal plays a strategic role in improving teacher competency through planned, continuous, and collaborative supervision, not only as administrative control but also as professional development that involves identifying teacher needs, providing constructive feedback, and designing follow-up actions such as training or reflection. The implementation of supervision often faces obstacles in the form of time constraints due to administrative burdens, limited competence of the principal in reflective and constructive supervision, and limited supporting facilities and infrastructure, so that its effectiveness can be reduced and tends to be formal. To overcome this, the principal applies efficient time management, delegates some administrative tasks, creates a structured supervision schedule, improves competency through training, workshops, and professional learning communities, and utilizes simple technology for remote supervision, so that supervision remains effective, collaborative, and sustainable despite these limitations.

Abstract

The increasing demand for electrical energy in buildings requires the utilization of renewable energy as an alternative power source. One of the applicable solutions is the implementation of rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems. This study aims to optimize the rooftop PV system capacity based on the available installation area at the BKD Building of Tebing Tinggi City using Helioscope software. The research method was carried out through building electrical load data collection, electrical energy requirement analysis, PV system capacity calculation, installation area requirement analysis, rooftop simulation using Helioscope software, and simple economic analysis. The results showed that the total electrical energy demand of the building was 304,212 Wh/day, with motor loads dominating energy consumption by 91% of the total electrical usage. The required PV system capacity to supply the entire building load was 82.393 kWp with a required installation area of 552.08 m². Based on the Helioscope simulation results, the available effective rooftop area was only 346.8 m², indicating that the PV system for supplying the entire building load was not feasible to implement. The optimization results showed that the most optimal PV configuration was supplying electronic and lighting loads with a capacity of 7,777.15 Wp using 79 solar modules and requiring an installation area of 52.93 m². The economic analysis indicated that the proposed PV system has a simple payback period of approximately 11 years, demonstrating its feasibility for long-term implementation in government buildings. This study demonstrates that rooftop validation using Helioscope software is essential to produce a realistic rooftop PV design that matches actual building conditions.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The limited use of digital learning materials in IPAS instruction at SD Negeri 1 Betung indicates the need for learning resources that encourage students not merely to receive information but to engage in the process of concept discovery. In response to this need, this study developed an Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) based on Discovery Learning through the Liveworksheets platform for the topic of Harmonious Ecosystems. The product was developed using a Research and Development (R&D) approach guided by the ADDIE model, comprising Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. A total of 21 fifth-grade students participated in the product implementation. The quality of the E-LKPD was examined through expert validation, student responses, and learning achievement tests, with the data analyzed descriptively using percentages. The developed product achieved a validity score of 91.49% (highly valid) and a practicality score of 94.06% (highly practical). In the field implementation, 19 of 21 students achieved mastery, resulting in a classical mastery rate of 90.48%. Integrating the six Discovery Learning stages into Liveworksheets activities provided a structured learning experience that enabled students to observe, investigate, process information, and construct understanding more independently. The resulting E-LKPD can therefore serve as an alternative digital learning resource for more active and student-centered IPAS instruction in elementary schools.
