Abstract

The growth of the halal industry at the local level shows significant dynamics; however, studies examining the determinants of operational performance in halal culinary businesses based on local wisdom remain limited. This research offers an integration of five variables social capital, halal certification ownership, innovation capability, digital transformation, and business location into a single theoretical model grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) to explain the operational performance of halal culinary enterprises in Ponorogo Regency. The study aims to analyze the influence of each variable on operational performance. The method employed is a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, beginning with a qualitative phase involving in depth interviews with five business owners, analyzed using NVivo 14. The subsequent quantitative phase was conducted using SEM-PLS on 105 respondents. The findings indicate that halal certification ownership, innovation capability, and business location have a positive and significant effect on operational performance. Meanwhile, social capital and digital transformation show positive but insignificant effects. These results emphasize that halal legitimacy, innovative capability, and locational accessibility function as strategic resources capable of enhancing efficiency and operational competitiveness. In contrast, social capital and digitalization have not provided optimal contributions due to their unstructured utilization. The implications of the study highlight the need to strengthen innovation, accelerate halal certification processes, and provide policy support and digital infrastructure to improve the competitiveness of halal culinary businesses at the regional level.

Abstract

The phenomenon of live streaming on TikTok has given rise to a new practice called online begging or cyber begging, where individuals display actions that evoke sympathy in order to receive digital gifts from viewers. This study aims to analyze this phenomenon through the perspective of social ethics in the Qur’an, particularly the values of iffah (maintaining one’s dignity), ‘adl (justice), ihsan (kindness), and ta‘awun (mutual assistance). The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a Qur’anic social ethics approach, using digital observation and semi-structured interviews with TikTok users, as well as analysis of classical and contemporary interpretations. The results of the study indicate that the practice of online begging represents a form of moral degradation caused by the shift in social values from honor and hard work towards fame and material gain. This phenomenon contradicts the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, particularly in safeguarding human dignity (ḥifẓ al-‘irḍ) and property (ḥifẓ al-māl). The Qur’an emphasizes that humans should not turn suffering into a form of entertainment, as warned in Q.S. Al-Ḥadīd [57]:20 concerning the delusions of the world (ghurūr ad-dunyā). Therefore, this study highlights the importance of applying Qur’anic social ethics in the digital space to foster moral awareness, social solidarity, and the dignified use of technology.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of artificial intelligence in Islamic Education to improve elementary students' literacy. It is a library research with a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing SINTA-accredited literature from 2021-2025 and international publications. The analysis involved identification, data selection, data extraction, and content analysis to map the relationship between AI, TPACK, basic literacy, and Islamic educational values. The findings indicate that AI has the potential to enhance literacy through adaptive, interactive, and contextual learning, but its implementation must be carefully guided. The study also shows that AI can strengthen literacy while promoting the values of manners and character, ensuring technology serves not just as a cognitive tool. An AI-Literacy model of Islamic Integration is proposed, combining AIEd, TPACK, literacy, and the principle of at-ta'dīb as the foundation for AI integration in PAI. This model offers a conceptual framework for PAI teachers to design ethical and relevant literacy learning in primary schools.

Abstract

The development of pharmaceutical raw materials as local Indonesian probiotic concentrates requires attention to strain identity accuracy, safety, and health potential. This is due to the high potential of probiotics in preventing and addressing various health disorders from infancy to old age. Previous research successfully obtained lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolates as probiotic candidates from tempeh produced in Jember, and preclinical testing showed that administering a consortium of five LAB isolates at a dose of 10^8 CFU/ml to BALB/c mice was an effective treatment for further application. This study aimed to perform molecular identification of the consortium of five LAB isolates from tempeh in Jember, East Java, based on 16S rRNA gene sequences. The consortium includes TA1, TB1, TK1, TK2, and TK4 isolates. This study used both qualitative descriptive and quantitative methods. Identification based on the 16S rRNA gene to determine LAB species strains involved bacterial genomic DNA isolation, amplification of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene, PCR product analysis, and phylogenetic identification and analysis. DNA amplification results showed that the consortium of five LAB isolates produced DNA fragments with bands of approximately 1300 bp. BLAST-N and phylogenetic analysis of the 16S rRNA gene showed that TB1 had 99.05% similarity with Kosakonia cowanii JCM 10956, TA1 had 99.46% similarity with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum JCM 1149, TK1 had 99.38% similarity with Lactiplantibacillus pentosus 124-2, TK2 had 96.86% similarity with Pseudomonas fluvialis ASS-1, and TK4 had 99.38% similarity with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum NBRC 15891. TA1, TB1, and TK4 were identified as non-pathogenic LAB strains, while TK1 and TK2 were not classified as LAB.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of happiness and organizational behavior on employee productivity in the workplace. The research involved 123 employee respondents from seven Indonesian provinces and applied the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) for data analysis. The results show that employees’ feelings of happiness and positive organizational behavior positively influence work productivity in the studied workplaces. Happiness in the workplace reflects feelings of pleasure, sincerity, and commitment in performing job duties, which in turn enhances performance. Likewise, positive organizational behavior plays a crucial role in shaping employee attitudes through positive culture, work environment norms, and effective communication, ultimately improving productivity. The findings confirm that happiness can motivate employees to create positive value and contribute meaningfully to organizational success, while positive organizational behavior strengthens performance through supportive psychological and social factors. These findings imply that psychological capital components play a critical role in enhancing employee productivity and positive organizational behavior. Strengthening happiness, self-efficacy, hope, resilience, and optimism within the workplace can serve as an effective strategic approach for organizations to improve individual performance and organizational outcomes.

Abstract

Young Muslims comprise a large population in Indonesia. This study analyzes the effect of halal awareness, halal certification, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavior controls and vaccine quality on young Muslims' intentions to use the COVID-19 vaccine. This study involved 699 random respondents from 32 provinces in Indonesia. This research model develops Theory Planned Behavior (TPB) using structural equation modeling (SEM) with partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) data processing tools. The results showed that halal awareness and certificates had a P-value of <0.05 or positively affected Muslims' attitude towards vaccines. Likewise, halal awareness, attitudes, subjective norms and vaccine quality have a P-value of <0.05 and perceived behavior control has a P-value of <0.10 or positively affects Muslims' intentions to use vaccines. However, halal certification has a P-value of >0.10 or does not affect their intention to use vaccines. Islamic values remain a consideration for young Muslims in using the COVID-19 vaccine. Therefore, the government needs to include halal aspects in determining policies related to the implementation of vaccinations.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of profitability, company size, and environmental performance on carbon emission disclosure in transportation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2020–2024, with GCG as the moderating variable. The study population consisted of 38 companies, and a purposive sample of 27 was selected, yielding 135 data points. This study is based on secondary data from annual and sustainability reports, with analysis using multiple linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) under the classical assumption tests. The results indicate that company size and environmental performance affect carbon emissions disclosure, whereas profitability does not. GCG is proven to strengthen the relationship between profitability and company size, while it does not moderate environmental performance on carbon emissions disclosure. These findings show that GCG plays an essential role in improving the transparency and accountability of carbon emissions reporting.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the rapid digitalization that has brought significant changes to the financial sector, particularly the Islamic capital market. Although the number of investors has increased, the level of literacy (43.42%) and Islamic financial inclusion (13.41%) remain low. This study aims to analyze the contribution of digital investment platforms in improving literacy and inclusion in the Islamic capital market in Indonesia. The method used is qualitative with a literature study, based on secondary data from journals, books, official reports, and related publications. The results show that digital platforms such as Bibit, Bareksa, IPOT, and Ajaib not only serve as a means of transaction but also as a medium of education through literacy programs, collaboration, and transparency and security features. Digitalization has been proven to reduce barriers to participation, provide cost efficiency, and expand investment access, especially for the younger generation.
