Abstract

This study examines the kinship of the Malay language and the Malagasy language. These two languages come from the same proto language, namely Proto Austronesian (PAN). Departing from the researchers’ assumptions about the linguistic relationship both at the phoneme and morpheme levels, there is a close kinship system or relationship between these two languages. Even though they are geographically and geo-politically separated, preliminary research on these two languages shows several universal features, one of which is that both languages are agglutinative languages. Therefore, this study is an attempt to find empirical evidence about the separation time between Malay and Malagasy by using language grouping methods and lexicostatistical techniques. The first stage, the researchers collect 300 basic vocabularies compiled by Swadesh (1995). The method used in providing the data is the referential method, while the technique used is the note-taking technique. Second, the researchers determine which pairs of the two languages are cognate languages. Third, the researchers calculate the age and separation time of the two languages. Fourth, the researchers calculate the error term to determine a more precise separation time. The result of this research indicates that Malay and Malagasy were a single language at 4223-3951 thousand years ago and began to separate from their proto languages in 2201-1929 BC.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is 1) to identify the need for the development of an Economic Mathematics Learning System through the MASTER Model for students of the Economic Education Study Program in participating in the learning process, 2) to develop a tool for making Economic Mathematics Learning System Development through the MASTER Model for students of the Economic Education Study Program in following the process learning, and 3) measuring or knowing the validity of the Economic Mathematics Learning System through the MASTER Model for students of the Economic Education Study Program in participating in the lesson. The study results found that the validation of material experts and learning system experts (learning models), it can be seen that results of the validation of material experts are 4,44 or good and the results of validation by media experts are 4.33 or good. The results of interviews with lecturers and students as a whole showed good responses to the use of the MASTER learning model in the learning process.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine the effect of institutional ownership, profitability, firm size, leverage and audit quality towards the tax evasion. In order to find out the influence between two or more variables, the study uses the descriptive and the causal associative approaches. The sixty six manufacturing companies (basic industry and chemical sector) registered in the 2014 Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) become the population in this study, and the purposive sampling is conducted to take the 39 samples of the study. The result shows two things. The first outcome demonstrates that the institutional ownership, profitability, leverage, and audit quality do not possess significant influence towards the tax evasion whilst the second one shows that the firm size has the significant influence towards the tax evasion.

Abstract

There is no denying that the COVID-19 pandemic, which broke out at the start of 2020, had an influence on Indonesia's family economy, both positively and negatively. A decline in family income levels is one of the COVID-19 pandemic's negative effects on Indonesian families, although there are also beneficial effects, such as increased usage of digital technologies worldwide, including in Indonesia. Teaching women how to be productive without having to leave the house while still being able to fulfil their responsibilities as mothers is one of the answers suggested by academics from Singaperbangsa Karawang University. This time at the community service, the volunteer proposes a way to improve mothers' knowledge by giving them training in operating digital stores using their social media. This service will be provided to mothers who are members of the Bandung Regency Family Empowerment and Welfare Group of mothers. Participants in this programme should gain an understanding of how women can manage digital shops to boost family income.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the cleanliness level and identify the facilities and services expected by guests at vila accommodations on Tanjung Bayang Beach, Makassar. The method used is a qualitative descriptive analysis with qualitative data collection techniques. The results show that cleanliness in the vilas needs to be improved to meet optimal standards. Recommendations include improving cleanliness in all vila areas and providing facilities that meet guests' expectations. The implementation of these findings is expected to increase guest satisfaction and the competitiveness of the vila accommodations

Abstract

Motivasi merupakan salah satu faktor utama dalam menunjang hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan media pembelajaran kartu bergambar dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak usia dini. Dalam metode studi literatur, kami menyelidiki literatur yang relevan dengan topik ini dan mengidentifikasi temuan-temuan kunci. Hasilnya mengungkapkan bahwa media pembelajaran kartu bergambar memiliki potensi besar dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak usia dini. Desain yang menarik, unsur interaktif, dan keterlibatan anak merupakan faktor penting. Faktor individu dan variasi dalam penggunaan media juga berdampak signifikan. Kerjasama antara orang tua dan pendidik menjadi penting, serta perlu ada evaluasi dan pengembangan berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang cara meningkatkan motivasi belajar anak usia dini melalui media pembelajaran kartu bergambar.

Abstract

Dystopia paints a grim portrayal of the future, spotlighting threats to individual freedom, human rights, and core human values. Putu Wijaya's short story Protes employs the dystopian concept to provoke critical examination of society's trajectory and to caution against the potential adverse outcomes of unsustainable policies or behaviors. This study adopts a literary sociology approach, an interdisciplinary method blending sociological principles with literary analysis to unravel the social significance embedded within the text. Supported by pertinent concepts and theories, the research employs qualitative methods, generating descriptive data from the written words of the short story Protes, which serve as the primary data source. The researchers themselves serve as the research instruments. Data collection employs a tabulation system structured around discussion points pertaining to dystopian aspects. Analysis involves thorough reading and comprehension of the text, selection and categorization of relevant data, identification of key problem areas, description of observations based on the data, compilation of a research report, and ultimately, drawing conclusions. The findings reveal that Protes encompasses dystopian elements manifested in the forms of poverty, social conflict, and environmental degradation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatahui pengaruh teknologi digital dan pendidikan ekonomi keluarga terhadap perilaku konsumtif pada mahasiswa pendidikan ekonomi Universitas Jambi. Mahasiswa pendidikan ekonomi Universitas Jambi angaktan 2021,2022 dan 2023 yang berjumlah sebanyak 323 mahasiswa merupakan populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Rumus Slovin digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menghitung ukuran sampel yang menghasilkan sampel akhir 178 mahasiswa. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner melalui google form. Metode analisis data yang digunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dengan bantuan alat analisis IBM SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan teknologi digital berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku konsumtif dan pendidikan ekonomi dalam keluarga berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap perilaku konsumtif. Secara simultan teknologi digital dan pendidikan ekonomi keluarga berpengaruh terhadap perilaku konsumtif.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the face-to-face learning process with online learning on the effectiveness of student learning in class XI Accounting at SMK PGRI 2 Jambi City. The design of this study uses the Quasi Experiment method. The population in this study was 78 students from all XI Accounting Classes at SMK PGRI 2 Jambi City. The sample used in this study consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class (XI AK2) with 26 students and the control class (XI AK1) with 26 students. Data collection techniques used in this study include interviews, observation and multiple choice tests. The research instrument tests used include the validity of the questions and the reliability of the questions, the level of difficulty test, and the test of discriminating power. Furthermore, inferential statistical tests were carried out, namely normality tests and homogeneity tests. The hypothesis test used is the ANCOVA test to answer the research hypothesis. Based on the results of this study, it can be obtained that there is a significant difference between the effectiveness of student learning through the face-to-face learning process and online learning on the learning effectiveness of students in class XI Accounting at SMK PGRI 2 Jambi City. This is evidenced by the calculation of the ancova test listed in the Tests of Between-Subjects Effects table, the significance level in the line "Learning effectiveness" is 0.000 <0.05. Thus, it can be explained that student learning can be said to be effective if mastery learning can be achieved properly through a supportive learning process so that interactions between teachers and students as well as fellow students can spur high enthusiasm for students, so that teachers can create an educative learning atmosphere and conducive.

Abstract

Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis focuses on language as a tool of power practice. Fairclough’s CDA connencts text (micro) with the society context (macro) through the three basics analysis (Text, Discourse Practice, Sociocultural Practice) as the focus of the researcher in conducting an analysis of the discourse on extending the president’s term in February 2023 edition of Kompas.id. Qualitative descriptive is the method in this research. Researcher used literature studies and documentation technique. The research results show the linguistic tools used are diction, modality, intertextuality, interdiscursivity, and repetition. At the text production level is the Kompas Daily team which is distributed via online media kompas.id. At the text consumption level, there is no comment response because kompas.id is premium media from Kompas. On the macro dimension, the situational level is this news was motivated by the discourse on extending the term which re-emerged in 2023. At the institutional level, this news was influenced by MPR and legal experts from University of Indonesia. The social level of this news was the spread of the hashtags #2024Gantian and #TolakPerpanjanganMasaJabatan and demonstrations against extending the term by community groups and college students so that the MPR stated there was no suggestion regarding this discourse from MPR members.
