Abstract

The goal of the study was to see if using matching photos by word may help students improve their vocabulary in the second semester of IAI As'adiyah Sengkang. This study used a one-group pre-test and post-test design with a pre-experimental approach. The study's participants were IAI As'adiyah Sengkang students in their second semester. A total of 13 English education students were included in the study. The value of significance of 0.00, which was lower than the level of significance (a) = 0.05, was used to prove the data of the students' vocabulary capacity, which was obtained through the usage of matching pictures by word at the vocabulary test. The post-mean test's score (75.41) was higher than the pre-mean test's score (25.00). The researcher concluded, based on the findings and discussion of the study, that employing matching pictures by word improved the students' vocabulary skills in the second semester of IAI As'adiyah Sengkang.

Abstract

This study looked at how flashcards improved students' vocabulary accomplishment in terms of word classes (noun, verb, adjective, adverb), word meaning, and language use in the third semester of English education at IAI As'adiyah Sengkang. A pre-experimental strategy was used in this study. The research sample consisted of 13 pupils. The researcher selected 8.5 as the research sample using a cluster random sampling technique. Data on students' vocabulary achievement was collected using multiple-choice, word meaning, and sentence-making exercises, and then analyzed using SPSS 24. There was a considerable improvement between the pre-test and post-test findings. The students' experimental post-test score of 69.3871 was greater than their pre-test score of 47.2258, demonstrating this. Furthermore, the results revealed that the probability value (0.00) was less than the significance level (0.05). The researcher found that employing flashcards boosted pupils' vocabulary achievement based on the findings.

Abstract

Using the continuous tale technique in the classroom, this research describes the students' speaking abilities. Its goal is to obtain answers to the following study question: "Does the use of continuous story approach increases the students' speaking skills in the sixth semester of English education at IAI As'adiyah Sengkang?" The author used the pre-experimental approach in this study, which included a pretest, posttest, and therapy. A purposive sampling strategy was used to choose the sample of 13 pupils. The speaking test, which measures accuracy, fluency, and comprehensibility, was used in this study. SPSS was used to collect and analyze the data from the pretest and posttest. The mean score of the pre-tests was 41.50, while the post-test was 72.00, according to the data analysis. It means that the mean scores between them have improved. The standard deviation was 11.649 in the pretest and 8.195 in the posttest. Furthermore, the posttest's t-test value was 0.00, which was less than 0.05. As a result, the continuous tale strategy was found to improve speaking.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to see if there was a substantial improvement in students' vocabulary proficiency after they were taught vocabulary using actual material. In this study, the pre-experimental design was used with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The first semester of English instruction at IAI As'adiyah Sengkang in the academic year 2020/2021 served as the study's sample. Simple random sampling was utilized in this study. A total of 15 students were used as samples. Written tests were employed as part of the study instrument. The utilization of real resources significantly improved students' vocabulary mastery, according to the findings of this study. The t-test result of -20,911 with a significance of 0.00 < 0.05 and a degree of freedom (n-1) of 28 showed this. As a result, the null hypothesis (H0) has been rejected, whereas the alternative hypothesis (H1) has been accepted.

A pre-experimental design was used in this study. The population of this study was IAI As'adiyah Sengkang's English education. The data was gathered using the pre-test and post-test methods. The findings of this study show that the 4-Square approach considerably improved the writing skills of IAI As'adiyah Sengkang's English education. This was demonstrated by the paired-sample t-test result, which revealed that the probability value (0.00) was less than the level of significance (0.05), showing a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test findings. As a result, the 4-square technique helped pupils enhance their writing skills in terms of grammar, content, punctuation, and spelling.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to see if using sequence graphics when writing procedural text improves writing skills. As a result, a quasi-experimental approach was used in this study. In both the pre-test and post-test, data on the students' writing abilities were gathered using the interview method. After gathering the data, descriptive analysis was used to examine it. The study included 13 students from IAI As'adiyah Sengkang, Indonesia, who were in their fifth semester of English education. Cluster random sampling was used to gather them. To measure the progress of the sequence picture technique, the researcher conducted a t-test study. The study findings revealed that there was no statistically significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The t-test value (0.11) was found to be greater than the level of significance α (0.05) and degree of freedom (df) = 41. The researcher finds that employing the sequence pictures technique does not significantly improve students' writing skills in procedural text based on the findings and discussion of the study.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to see if employing various questioning strategies improves the speaking skills of first-year students at MTs As'adiyah Putri 1 Sengkang in terms of correctness, fluency, and comprehensibility. The pre-experimental approach was used in this study. The students at MTs As'adiyah Putri 1 Sengkang made up the majority of the population. This study used a purposive sampling strategy to select one class as the sample, class VII-A, which has 30 students in the 2020/2021 academic year, because students in that class had more knowledge than students in other classes. A test of learning outcomes was used, which included speaking skills (pre-test and post-test). The findings of this study reveal that the accuracy of the students' speaking has improved. The findings of the pre-test show that just 4% of students received a score of 71–85, but 24% of students received that score in the post-test. Furthermore, on both the pre-test and post-test, the percentage of pupils in the extremely bad group was 48 percent (0 percent). The value of the sig.2-tailed is not above the level of significance (0.000 < 0.05) and also proves it. After the test, the students' speaking skills increased to a good level in response to varied questioning strategies.

Abstract

This study focuses on determining if video-based discussions improve students' English-speaking abilities in their initial years at MTs As'adiyah Putra 1 Sengkang. Two classes served as the research sample in this study's true experimental design (the pretest-posttest control group design). There were 90 first-year students at MTs As'adiyah Putra 1 Sengkang in the population. 30 students served as the research's sample population. VII. A and VII. B was chosen as the sample for the research using the cluster random sampling approach, which was applied by the author. Speaking tests and the video-based discussion approach were used to gather data on the students' speaking abilities. The test's results were collated and put through a t-test and percentage analysis. As a result of the findings, it was determined that the probability value (0.00) was less than the threshold of significance (0.05) The examination of the data revealed that using video-based discussions to learn English considerably improves students' speaking abilities. The pre-test mean score is 1.9344, and the post-test mean score is 3.4817, which demonstrates this.

Abstract

This study examines whether or not interactional feedback has a considerable positive impact on first-year MA Nurul As'adiyah Callacu students' grammatical awareness. The pre-experimental research method was used in the study. 38 grade X A students made up the sample. The research's pre- and post-test grammatical data were collected, and the t-test in SPSS was used to assess it. The study's findings showed a substantial difference between the students' levels of grammatical awareness on the pretest and posttest. The fact that the mean posttest score was greater than the mean pretest score (91.32 > 59.08) served as evidence. These mean scores were different in a statistically significant way. The probability value is lower than the significant level (0.00 < 0.05), which was based on the t-test value at the significant level of 0.05. Based on the result analysis, it can be said that interactional feedback significantly improved grammatical awareness in the first year of MA Nurul As'adiyah Callacu because it promoted learners' intellectual operations and thought processes, which led them to reflect on ideas, particularly in grammar learning.
