The 21st century education requires graduates who are broad-minded and have literacy. New literacy skills are needed by students to face the challenges of the 21st century. Science learning in the 2013 curriculum is carried out in an integrated manner. But the facts on the ground showed that science learning has not been implemented well, the unavailability of integrated science teaching materials, and student learning outcomes were still low. The solution to overcome this problem was to develop new literacy science integrated learning material. This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of using new integrated literacy science learning material. This type of research was Research and Development. The object of research was integrated science learning material for new literacy themes of motion in life. The data source were the result of the validity and practicality test. The instruments used were validation questionnaire sheets and practicality questionnaire sheets. The results show that the new integrated literacy science teaching materials are valid with a value of 79.65 and the use of new integrated literacy science teaching materials is very practical according to teachers and students with grades of 86.39 and 83.44, respectively.

ABSTRACT Science learning material must be implemented in an integrated pattern according to curriculum 2013, but it still done separately such as chimistry biology and physics. To overcome this problem was developing of thematic science teaching materials integrated with new literacy. Where the concept that include to development research was: Using Energy in Daily Life. The goal of this study is to determine the validity and practicality of thematic science teaching materials. The instrument that used is questionnaire about the validity and practicality of product at administrated to Expert in field of this study. There are four Lecturers in field of Science Education and one from Physics Education. While practicality testing was carried out by 2 Science Teachers and 32 Junior High School Students. The technique of analysis data was descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the data analysis, the validity and practicality values of the product with an average validity of 85.77 while the average practicality according to the teacher and students are 96.50 and 88.26. So it can be concluded that the thematic science teaching materials integrated in new literacy are valid and practical for grade VII junior high school students.

In the 2013 curriculum, science learning was implemented based on integration to improve student competency. However, the real conditions in schools show that the integration of learning materials in the worksheet and literacy integration that were applied was in the low category. The solution to overcome this problem is to use a integrated science worksheet containing new literacy theme of respiratory health and excretion. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of integrated science worksheet containing new literacy theme of respiratory health and excretion on the students competence in SMPN 25 Padang. This type of research used quasi experimental design with randomized control group posttest only design. The instrument used in this research consisted of observation sheet for attitude competency, written test for knowledge competency, and performance assessment for skill competency. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be stated that the use of integrated science worksheet containing literacy new has a significant influence on student competence. These results indicate that the use of integrated science worksheet containing new literacy theme of respiratory health and excretion is effectively applied in schools.

Science learning in the 2013 curriculum is carried out on an integrated basis to improve student learning outcomes. However, based on previous research, the real conditions in schools show that the integration of science material and students' literacy skills is still low. The solution to overcome this problem is to use teaching materials that contain literacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect size of integrated science teaching materials with literacy on student learning outcomes in terms of class level, themes, types of teaching materials, literacy and learning outcomes. This study uses a meta-analysis method that examines 13 articles. Journal criteria used are national journals consisting of 11 articles and international journals consisting of 2 articles. Based on the results of the study, it can be understood that:1) integrated science teaching materials are more effectively used in class VIII with an effect size of 1.70 is very high category.2) integrated science teaching materials are more effective for use on the theme of motion, waves of respiratory health and digestive health.3) integrated science teaching materials are more effectively used with an effect size of 1.95 is very high category.4) integrated science teaching materials are more effectively used in the digital era literacy with an effect size of 2.21 very high category.5) integrated science teaching materials are effective for increasing student learning outcomes.

Education has a role in building character and community disaster response through learning in schools. Learning that is integrated with disaster mitigation is one of the efforts to develop the soul (character) in order to have disaster preparedness. This is important to do in order to reduce the impact of the disaster. Research on the integration of disaster mitigation into learning has been carried out but no one has explained explicitly about the integrated disaster mitigation plan into learning. Therefore this study aims to present information related to the technical integration of disaster mitigation in the lessons that have been carried out so that it can enrich the body of knowledge and science and improve disaster preparedness from 7 articles in the EBSCO and Scopus databases with limitations 2017-2022. The literature review method uses the Population, Intervention, Comparison and Outcome (PICO) technique. The procedure for searching and selecting articles in this study used Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews & Meta-analyses (PRISMA). The results of the research based on the 7 articles that have been reviewed show that the integration of disaster preparedness learning towards disaster preparedness with various levels of education.

STEAM is a popular approach used in learning by integrating several fields of science in the form of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. This study aims to determine the effect of size from studies that discuss the effect of STEAM on science learning on learning achievement. The moderator variable consists of the level of education and the distribution of regions. This research is a meta-analysis study by collecting quantitative data to calculate the effect size of each study. Studies were collected through national and international journal research using Google Scholar and ERIC in the range of 2012 to 2022. The effect of STEAM on science learning on student learning achievement had an average size effect score of 0.71 in the moderate category obtained from 20 studies. The distribution of studies discussing STEAM is most commonly found in the South Korean region. The influence of STEAM varies on the level of education dominated in elementary schools.

Facing industry 4.0 literacy requires a role of literacy. One of the literacies that are suitable for answering the challenges of this era is data and technology literacy. The STEM approach is the learning approach used to address the challenges of the Industry 4.0 revolution. However, the actual conditions in the field describing the application of interactive multimedia by integrating STEM and integrating data and technology literacy in learning still need to be improved. The solution is to develop interactive multimedia by integrating STEM. This research aims to produce valid and practical interactive multimedia by integrating STEM to improve the data and technology of students. The Research & Development stage was completed until limited product testing. The data in this research was obtained from experts' validity and practical results from the students of class 11 science. The data collection instrument consisted of the validity sheet given to the experts and the practicality sheet given to the students of class 11 science. The analysis results show that the STEM-integrated interactive multimedia produced is valid and practical according to students. The second value is included in the very good category. Experts rationally state that interactive multimedia integrating STEM is valid regarding material substance, visual communication display, learning design, software usage, and assessment of STEM components. Students stated that the interactive multimedia presentation integrating STEM was practical regarding usability, ease of use, attractiveness, and clarity.

The 21st century demands quality human resources and they have good performance. The goal of the 21st century is to produce people who have the ability to think critically, have strong character, and use information and communication technology. This ability can be developed in the integrated science learning process. However, the implementation of integrated science learning in schools and the integration of learning materials in integrated science books were still low. The solution to the problem was to use integrated science learning material of the excretory and respiratory system with a CTL strategy known as relating, experiencing, applying, cooperating, transferring or REACT. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of using science learning material on the theme of the integrated excretory and respiratory system with REACT strategy to develop the academic performance of grade VIII students. The design of this research was a non-equivalent control group design with only posttest. The subject in this research was grade VIII students of SMPN 8 Padang. The instrument for collecting data consists of three parts, namely a multiple-choice written test to measure knowledge, an observation sheet to measure attitudes, and a performance assessment sheet to measure discovery skills.Research data for aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and discovery skills have a normal distribution and homogeneous variance. For this reason, a two-mean comparison test for two independent sample groups was used to determine differences in academic performance for these three aspects.The important result of this research is that the use of integrated science learning material with REACT strategy of the excretory and respiratory system theme has a significant effect on the academic performance of students in terms of knowledge, attitudes, and discovery skills

Character is an urgent part for students to achieve success. However, the character value of students was still low. The solution to the problem is to integrate character education into learning materials. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of integrating character education into physics teaching material on student learning outcomes in the knowledge aspect. This type of research can be categorized into the method of meta-analysis. There are 22 national and international articles from 2013 to 2021 analyzed to determine the effect size. The data analysis technique is to calculate the effect size of each article. Based on the results of the study it is known that the integrated teaching materials for character education in physics teaching materials have a significant effect on learning outcomes on aspects of student knowledge. First, integrated teaching materials for the character education aspect of knowledge are very high, namely 1.76, in the class XI level category. Second, integrated teaching materials for character education provide a significant effect on learning outcomes in the knowledge aspect for the types of learning materials, namely teaching materials/teaching books with an effect size score of 1.96 in the high category. Third, integrated teaching materials for character education are effectively used at the high school level, namely work and energy, which has a score of 1.90. This means that the integrated learning material for character education have a significant effect both for class levels, types of learning materials, and learning materials.

The facts found in the field are that literacy activities have not been implemented properly and the lack of teaching materials for the implementation of practicum in the laboratory. One way that can be conducted to finish this is the Development of Integrated Scientific Literacy Worksheets for the Use of Physics Practicum KIT on Unidirectional Electrical Materials. The purpose of this research was to reveal the feasibility of the student worksheet developed. The research type conducted was Research and Development. The data sources of this study were the validator team, physics teachers and students of Senior High School in Padang. The instruments for data collection used were sheets for validation, sheets for practicality, and sheets for effectiveness in the form of student outcomes of learning tests for the assessment of scientific literacy skills. The technique of data analysis used is analysis in descriptive and correlation test analysis. Based on the analysis of data, results of three research were presented. First, the student worksheet with a validation value of 0.88 is a very valid category. Second, student worksheet with student and teacher practicality score of 92.25% and 95.90% with very practical category. Third, the use of student worksheet is effective in learning physics to improve student learning outcomes. From this study it can be concluded that the scientific literacy integrated worksheet for the use of physics practicum KIT on unidirectional electricity is valid, practical and effective to use in physics learning.
