Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the inventory properties of the Indonesian version of The College Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (CASES) which is originally Western, and was developed by Owen, S. V., & Froman, R. D. in 1988 to determine the level of student self-efficacy. The multi-stage random sampling method was used with 342 students as participants in Indonesia. Furthermore, the validity was analyzed using Cronbach’s alpha item analysis that shows the coefficient of α > .3, and the data showed that 33 items of Indonesian CASES were valid. In addition, as regards reliability, Cronbach’s alpha was also used for the analysis, and the result shows that reliability coefficient of the Indonesian version of CASES was .931. Furthermore, it was concluded that the validity of CASES was satisfying to measure students’ self-efficacy, and the construct of Indonesian CASES can be helpful and applicable in understanding student self-efficacy and ready to be used in subsequent researches.

This study aims to determine the effect of group counseling services using an eclectic approach to post-bullying stress in SMA Negeri 4 Medan students in the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design with the type of Pre-test-post-test group design. The subjects in this study were 10 students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 4 Medan who had a high level of post-bullying stress. Subjects were taken using a screening method with a purposive technique. The research data were collected using a valid and reliable questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. From the data analysis, it was obtained that J count = 0 with = 0.05, while J table = 8. From these data it can be seen that Jcount < JTable where 0 < 8. This means that the hypothesis is accepted. Post-test data after being given the eclectic approach group counseling service obtained an average of 47.9, the difference between the pretest and posttest was 31.8 and the change in the post-bullying stress interval for students after being given the eclectic approach group counseling service was 39.89%. This means that the average score of students who have a high level of post-bullying stress after receiving an eclectic approach group counseling service is lower than before receiving an eclectic approach group counseling service. This shows that there is an influence of an eclectic approach group counseling service on students who have stress levels. high post-bullying or the hypothesis can be accepted.

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic that hit the whole world including Malaysia had a huge impact on the country's political, economic, social, health, and service system. It also affects the education sector in Malaysia. This pandemic also caused major psychological impacts such as stress, fear, anxiousness, and depression. Therefore, this study was conducted to identify the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on teachers’ psychological well-being levels and their readiness to handle mental health issues among students. Through these findings, the causative factors of psychological well-being disorders and affected groups can be identified which in turn, can be overcome through appropriate interventions. This study uses an online survey from January 20 to February 13, 2021. To see the level of teachers’ psychological well-being, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) instrument was used. A total of 80 teachers (13 males and 67 females) completed this questionnaire.  The findings showed that teachers’ psychological well-being is a concern due to many teachers suffering from stress, anxiety, and depression. Therefore, proactive and comprehensive measures need to be carried out by responsible parties such as the Ministry of Education Malaysia so that interventions can be implemented to provide psychological support to educators.

Abstract

The variety of problem conditions and the specific dynamics of college student demographics demands a holistic measurement. Various measurements to reveal the attributes of students' problems have been developed in Indonesia, but they are not optimal because they are still partial. Even though a holistic measurement tool has been developed, its effectiveness is still a matter of debate, especially in measuring instrument duration and the number of items that are too large. The development of the Zadrian-Ifdil Problem Checklist (ZIPC) measuring instrument aims to obtain an effective and efficient measuring tool in identifying problems experienced by students daily. This study consists of three phases: item development, testing, validation, and item revision. The sample involved in this study were 639 people spread all over Indonesia. Analysis and validation of measuring tools using the Rasch model approach. The development and validation results revealed that the student version of ZIP-C was reliable and valid to reveal daily personal problems in 8 variables of problem conditions and 50 items. This measuring tool can be used for research purposes and practice services and mental health interventions by professionals.
