Abstract

The utilization of information technology in the field of education, particularly Google Earth, has become a significant breakthrough. This article examines the potential of Google Earth as a map learning tool at SDN Sidomulyo 02. The research focuses on students and teachers from grades 4-6, employing a qualitative approach with a case study. The research results indicate an improvement in student engagement, a better understanding of map concepts, and increased learning motivation. Google Earth provides a dynamic, visual, and interactive experience, allowing students to explore the world virtually. This advantage is evident in the identification of map symbols, understanding legends, and interpreting geographical information. A comparison with conventional methods emphasizes the superiority of Google Earth in the context of map learning, supporting a contextual learning approach. Despite the positive outcomes, challenges in implementation involve a learning curve for teachers. Therefore, advanced training and technical support are key to the effectiveness of Google Earth usage. This article contributes to a deeper understanding of the positive impact of Google Earth on students' geospatial literacy. Its implications include recommendations for teachers and policymakers to integrate learning technologies, especially Google Earth, into elementary education curricula. As a significant contribution, this research paves the way for the broader use of similar technologies in elementary education and serves as a foundation for further research in the development of learning methods that integrate technology.

Abstract

Di era digital ini, game online dapat diibaratkan sebagai pedang bermata dua bagi adaptasi sosial siswa. Di satu sisi, game online menawarkan manfaat seperti interaksi sosial dan peningkatan keterampilan. Namun ketergantungan terhadap game online juga dapat menghambat perkembangan sosial siswa. Penelitian metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif terhadap 15 siswa yang aktif bermaing game online mendapatkan hasil yang menunjukkan bahwa game online meningkatkan keterampilan sosial virtual dan respon emosional positif pada siswa, serta memberikan dampak positif terhadap perilaku sosialnya. Adaptasi sosial siswa masih terjaga dengan baik, menunjukkan pengendalian emosi dan perilaku yang positif. Meski dampak game online tidak sepenuhnya negatif, namun penggunaannya perlu dikelola secara bijak untuk mengurangi risiko negatifnya. Pemahaman yang seimbang mengenai dampak game online diperlukan. Orang tua, guru dan pihak terkait harus bekerja sama untuk menciptakan lingkungan digital yang aman serta memberikan edukasi dan intervensi yang dapat mengurangi dampak negatif terkait penggunaan game online terhadap penyesuaian sosial siswa, khususnya pada pola adaptasi sosial siswa di lingkungannya.

Abstract

Education has a crucial role in developing quality human resources, using increase learning being a key factor. However, mathematics learning in lower elementary grades often faces challenges, such as low student achievement due to limited variation in teaching methods and lack of media suited to young learners' characteristics. This study aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes specifically on addition and subtraction of numbers 1–20 for first grade students at SD 1 Jati Wetan by using the Student Teams Achievment Division cooperative learning model assisted by kalipus. The research used a collaborative Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, carried out in two cycles following the Kemmis and McTaggart model, involving 11 students. Data collection methods included observation and achievement tests, analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. This research was conducted from February 12 to May 12, 2025, the results showed a significant increase in student achievement, with average scores rising from 66.4 (pre-cycle) to 75.45 (Cycle I) and 88.18 (Cycle II). Mastery learning improved from 54% to 92%. These findings indicated that the STAD model with Kalipus media can improve students' arithmetic abilities and supports interactive learning aligned with early childhood cognitive development, contributing to innovative and engaging mathematics instruction in early education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan rata-rata skor pretest dan posttest serta mengukur peningkatan pemahaman konsep peserta didik kelas V dalam mata pelajaran IPAS melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share (TPS) berbantuan media pop up berbasis QR code. Model TPS merupakan strategi pembelajaran kooperatif yang melibatkan siswa untuk berpikir sendiri (Think), berdiskusi berpasangan (Pair), dan berbagi pendapat (Share) guna menemukan konsep pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-eksperimen one-group pretest-posttest design. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 17 siswa dengan teknik sampel jenuh. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas, uji t, dan uji N-Gain. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 57,63%, yang termasuk dalam kategori cukup efektif. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest, menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model TPS berbantuan media pop up berbasis QR code mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa model pembelajaran TPS dengan dukungan media visual interaktif berbasis QR code efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada siswa sekolah dasar. Disarankan agar penelitian selanjutnya mengembangkan media pembelajaran sejenis untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation between the intensity of social media use and elementary school students' learning achievement. The background of the study is based on the phenomenon of increasing screen time among students due to easy access to social media, which is often more interesting than learning activities. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method and involves 30 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 1 Dersalam who were selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire and analyzed using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results of the study showed a very strong and significant negative relationship between the intensity of social media use and learning achievement (r = -0.968; p <0.05). This means that the higher the duration of social media use, the lower the student's learning achievement. However, some students also use social media as a learning tool, such as accessing educational videos and discussing lessons. This study emphasizes the importance of the role of parents and teachers in supervising and guiding the use of social media so that it becomes a tool that supports learning. These findings are expected to be a reference in developing a balanced digital literacy strategy for students.

Abstract

Student learning engagement plays a crucial role in character development, especially at the elementary school level. To foster a positive learning environment and encourage active participation, active learning approaches based on games are considered effective. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the active learning model using word-building games and the learning engagement of third-grade students at SDN 3 Jepang, Kudus Regency. The research was motivated by the low level of student participation, which is still dominated by conventional teaching methods. A correlational quantitative approach was used, with a population consisting of all 20 third-grade students, who were also taken as the sample through total sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure learning engagement and observation of the implementation of the word-building game model. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used for normality testing, and since one of the variables was not normally distributed, the data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed a correlation coefficient of r = -0.097 with a significance value of 0.686 (> 0.05), indicating no significant relationship between the word-building game model and student engagement. Other factors such as individual learning styles or classroom atmosphere may influence student engagement. Nonetheless, this model still holds potential and should be further developed to align with elementary students' characteristics.

Abstract

This research aims to increase the understanding of science and science concepts for class V students through the problem based learning model assisted by POKATA media. POKATA media is an acronym for smart card posters that can be used to help implement science learning on changes that occur on Earth. The method used was classroom action research carried out at SD Negeri 3 Kalipucangkulon with 25 class V students as the subject, consisting of 13 male students and 12 female students. The research took place in 2 cycles with 2 meetings in each cycle, there were stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Indicators of understanding the IPAS concept are restating the concept, giving examples, classifying, concluding, comparing and explaining. The results of the research show that there is an increase in the ability to understand science and science concepts for fifth grade students at SD Negeri 3 Kalipucangkulon through the problem based learning model assisted by POKATA media. This can be seen in the number of students who completed cycle I as many as 12 students with a percentage of 48% and the number of students who completed cycle II as many as 20 students with a percentage of 80%. The application of the problem based learning model assisted by POKATA media can improve the ability to understand science and science concepts by achieving predetermined success indicators.Keywords: POKATA media, problem-based learning, understanding of IPAS concepts

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya belajar siswa SDN 5 Bae kelas IV dan implikasinya terhadap strategi mengajar guru dengan menggunakan penelitian survey. Gaya belajar siswa dianalisis berdasarkan observasi dan asesmen diagnostik yang dilakukan di awal tahun ajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya belajar siswa sangat bervariasi, dengan kecenderungan utama pada gaya visual, auditori, dan kinestetik. Penyesuaian metode pengajaran dengan gaya belajar siswa terbukti dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi dan pemahaman siswa, meskipun ada tantangan dalam menjaga perhatian siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar guru lebih peka terhadap perbedaan gaya belajar di kelas dan menyesuaikan strategi pengajaran untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan efektif. kata kunci: gaya belajar, strategi mengajar, kuantitatif, siswa SD, gaya visual, gaya auditori, Bgaya kinestetik, asesmen diagnostik, pembelajaran efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran terhadap minat dan motivasi belajar matematika siswa kelas V di SD 1 Purwosari. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya minat dan motivasi siswa terhadap mata pelajaran matematika yang sering dianggap sulit dan membosankan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan pengumpulan data melalui angket skala Likert. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 42 siswa kelas V. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa menyatakan setuju dan sangat setuju terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam proses belajar matematika. Selain itu, media pembelajaran terbukti mampu mendorong motivasi siswa dengan menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan dan interaktif. Media pembelajaran memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan minat dan motivasi belajar matematika siswa sekolah dasar. Oleh karena itu, integrasi media secara optimal sangat direkomendasikan untuk mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the questioning skills of elementary school teachers in the subject of Social Sciences and students' responses to teachers' questioning skills. This research was conducted at SDN 4 Kandangrejo. The implementation time is carried out when social studies subjects are ongoing. The data source of this study is grade IV teachers and 6 grade IV students with student ability categories, namely high, medium, and low. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection techniques used by the researcher are observation, anecdotal notes, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data was tested by the method of triangulation of sources, techniques, time, and member checks. The research instruments used were interview sheets, anecdotal notes, and observation sheets. The data analysis used in this study is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, verification (drawing conclusions). The results of this study can show that: a.) The teacher's questioning skills can be categorized as good with a score of 129 out of 176. b.) Students' responses to the teacher's questioning skills showed significant variations
