Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of problem-based learning models on students' metacognition in science learning. This type of research is a meta-analysis using the PRISMA 2020 method. Articles from Scopus and Google Scholar databases were collected using Publish or Perish (PoP) software. From 8 articles that met the inclusion criteria, a total of 20 data were obtained to be processed in the meta-analysis. Data analysis was used with JASP software. The results of this metaanalysis research show that problem-based learning model provides moderate effectiveness on students' metacognition in science learning (r RE = 0.67; SE = 0.16; z = 4.24; p < 0.001). This shows that problem-based learning model can improve students' metacognition in science learning. Through PBL, students become more aware of their cognitive strategies and learn to organise them more effectively. Incorporating PBL into the science curriculum can significantly improve students' metacognition, leading to more independent and effective students. Therefore, widely adopting PBL in science education is recommended to achieve better learning outcomes

Abstract

This research has two purposes. The first is to develop a diagnostic, formative and summative assessment tool using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model to strengthen the profile of Pancasila physics students. The second is to examine the validity and usability of the developed assessment tool. The first objective outcome is the product of assessment tools in the form of activity and assessment sheets. The outcome of the second objective is to obtain a valid and practical assessment tool that strengthens the student profile of Pancasila. The conclusion from the development of this tool is that the tool developed in the form of activity and assessment pages is practical and suitable for use in the classroom to strengthen the profile of Pancasila physics students.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically analyze the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in enhancing students’ learning outcomes in chemistry education. This research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following PRISMA 2020 guidelines with strict inclusion criteria. A total of 30 empirical studies published between 2010 and 2025 were selected from Scopus- and SINTA-indexed journals. The findings indicate that PBL significantly improves students’ conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, particularly in topics such as reaction rates, chemical equilibrium, and acid–base chemistry. Furthermore, the integration of PBL with digital media and contextual approaches strengthens its effectiveness in supporting meaningful learning. However, challenges related to teacher readiness and the need for appropriate scaffolding remain critical issues. This study contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting effective student-centered learning strategies in chemistry education.

Abstract

Sociaty 5.0 era has placed artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) as fundamental aspects of human activity. The Indonesian government has paid great attention to the digitisation of learning through a curriculum that focused to use of technology, project-based learning, and the strengthening of digital competencies relevant to the needs of industry and society. However, facts in the field show that the learning tools developed by students as prospective teachers still don’t make optimal use of technology. The purpose of this study is to produce digital modules that are valid in terms of material, media, and construct and are practical for use in physics-based learning. Implications. This study used Plomp's research design, which consists preliminary research, prototyping phase, and assessment phase. The prototyping phase included Kemp's learning model design, product design, and product quality testing in the form of validity and practicality. The findings state that the validity according to experts is 0.90 (very high), the practicality according to lecturers is 0.93 (very high), and according to students is 0.92 (very high). This study is expected to improve students' pedagogical competence, encourage the optimal use of ICT, develop digital teaching material development skills, and strengthen academic character

Abstract

In the context of physics learning, critical thinking is a key tool for students to understand complex and abstract natural phenomena. Physics requires students to possess strong analytical skills, logical problem-solving skills, and the ability to connect theory to reality. At present, technological developments demand teaching materials that are able to support physics learning to be more varied, interesting, and effective in honing students critical thinking. However, the use of digital teaching materials for this purpose has not been widely applied in schols, especially at the junior and widely known. This study aims to examine and review various national and international articles that develop or use digital teaching materials in physics learing. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach. Data were collected from relevant articles and journals from 2018 to 2024. A total of 48 articles were identifies and analyzed using coding techniques to understand trens in digital teaching materials in improving critical thingking skills. The results showed that e-modules are the most widely developed and used digital teaching materials in research. This finding contributes that e-modulea can be a solution to improve students critical thinking skills through more innovative physics learning

Abstract

Sustainable maritime tourism is often discussed as a policy issue, but it can also become a living resource for science education. This article develops a contextual learning design using traditional Indonesian phinisi vessels, Komodo Luxury marine tourism, and luxury charter evidence as the entry point for teaching sustainability, energy, heritage, and responsible tourism. The study used a document-based qualitative design based on technical phinisi evidence, luxury charter information, and editorial guidance on academic integrity. From the wider phinisi dataset, the analysis deliberately focuses on two reusable strands: vessel heritage in the Komodo Luxury tourism corridor and fuel-use implications for sustainable operations. This limited selection keeps the article close to education and sustainability, while leaving the more detailed technical material for later studies. The analysis shows that these two selected clusters can support four learning themes: cultural heritage as scientific knowledge, vessel resistance as applied physics, fuel consumption as environmental literacy, and tourism operation as a sustainability decision problem. Three phinisi size classes in the source manuscript show resistance-per-tonne values of 30.9, 18.9, and 12.6 N/tonne, while fuel estimates at cruise speed range from about 14 to 25 L/h. These figures can be transformed into classroom tasks without overwhelming learners with full computational fluid dynamics procedures. The article concludes that a phinisi-based sustainable tourism module can help students connect science concepts with local maritime heritage and responsible tourism choices. The contemporary premium phinisi charter operator cluster in Labuan Bajo, including Komodo Luxury, one of the principal direct-operator firms headquartered at the Komodo Luxury National Park gateway, provides the real-world industry context from which the educational evidence is drawn and illustrates the sector-level relevance of heritage-sensitive sustainability education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine Science Process Skills (KPS) by applying the learning model to class VII materials on Temperature and Heat at Dr. Private Middle School. Wahidin Sudirohusodo for the 2022/2023 Academic Year conducted this research against the background of the low Science Process Skills (KPS) in Science for the last five years to 2021/2022, so that student learning outcomes were unsatisfactory. This was because students considered Science to be a difficult subject, especially Science Physics because it is necessary to use learning methods and models that can improve students' science process skills. This study used the classroom action research (PTK) method whose model was developed by Kemmis and McTaggart. Data collection techniques in this study used pretest and posttest test instruments with a population of 210 students spread across 7 parallel classes and one class was taken with 30 students as a sample. Data analysis using descriptive analysis was carried out by interactive analysis. The use of the inquiry training learning model has a good influence on improving science process skills. The research was conducted in pre-cycle and two cycles. In the pre-cycle with the pretest with a completeness score of only 16.67%, in the first cycle the completeness was 76.67%. Then the learning improvement was carried out again in cycle II, with inquiry training, completeness 83.33% So there was an increase in students' Science Process Skills.
