Abstract

In the construction industry, planners use contract drawings and the Work Plan and Conditions (RKS) to determine the work to complete. The conventional approach in calculating the volume and quantity of work usually relies on Microsoft Excel as a calculation tool based on AutoCAD drawings. However, this method is considered inefficient and time-consuming, which can affect the quality of the resulting infrastructure. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a solution to improve efficiency in planning and managing construction projects. In this research, Tekla Structures was chosen for its ability to generate project drawings, manage and monitor projects, amplify details with high accuracy, and automatically calculate the volume of work after modelling. This research aims to encourage wider application of digital technology in the construction industry in Indonesia. The results showed that comparing the total volume of concrete work between the calculation using Tekla Structures and secondary data had an accuracy rate of 87.61%, with a deviation of 12.39%. Meanwhile, the total volume of reinforcement works showed an accuracy of 95.66% with a deviation of 4.34%. This insignificant volume difference indicates that Tekla Structures can be relied upon to calculate the volume of work, especially in detailing and reinforcement. Although the accuracy of volume calculation is already high, improvement of the BIM model is still needed to make it closer to the actual conditions in the field. One of the efforts that can be made is to integrate real-time data from the field into the BIM model so that the accuracy of calculations increases and can support planning and project management more effectively.

Abstract

The height of the bridge arch significantly impacts the strength and structural efficiency. Research on the height of the Tayan Bridge arch was conducted to determine the values and behaviour of member forces, structural weight, and deflection and to design the optimal arch height geometry. This research involved five variations of the arch height. The bridge structure was modelled using AutoCAD software. Relevant bridge loading data based on the SNI 1725-2016 standard was inputted into AutoCAD for structural design, and then the structure was modelled and analysed using SAP2000. The analysis results provided information on the bridge weight, deflection, and member forces. The analysis results were then compared with the bridge arch height, and this comparison was presented in the form of graphs. From the analysis results, it can be concluded that the bridge arch height has a positive linear relationship with the bridge weight. Tensile and compressive forces exhibit opposite behaviour. Increasing the arch height with constant value results in weight, deflection, and member force variations. Constantly expanding the arch height also does not lead to an increase in the stiffness of the bridge. Structurally, the optimal arch height is 42.134 meters.

Abstract

Building construction projects often face challenges during construction and operation. Implementing green construction is a promising solution to enhance process efficiency. Green construction involves planning and executing projects focusing on efficient energy, water, cost usage, and construction waste management. This study analyzes the additional costs of applying green construction to the Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Sabda Setia (ITBSS) building in Pontianak. Using market price data and Work Unit Price Analysis (AHSP), the estimated additional cost for implementing green construction indicators is Rp34,122,728.55. These costs include energy and water conservation, air quality, and environmental management. However, utilizing recycled materials reduces costs associated with land use. Green construction enhances project sustainability and efficiency, leading to significant long-term savings. While this research highlights the additional costs, it does not provide a detailed calculation of long-term benefits. The findings suggest that green construction practices are viable and sustainable, urging stakeholders to embrace these practices for improved project performance and environmental impact.
