Abstract

This article is motivated by the issue of the transgender community, which will hold a transgender fashion show combined with the recitation of the Al-Qur’an in Sidrap, South Sulawesi. This activity was criticized by Ulema Council (MUI) in South Sulawesi because it was considered being injurious to Islamic religious values ​​and even insulting religion. However, this community still has space in society because of human rights considerations. The aim of this article is to analyze the role of ulama in responding to LGBT developments and movements in South Sulawesi. The research method used is qualitative research with a sociological, normative, juridical approach. The research results show that the existence of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) is still widely rejected by society in South Sulawesi. The role of religious figures is quite influential in responding to the existence of transgender communities in religious communities. This is proven by the failure of several transgender campaign activities in South Sulawesi. Seeing this phenomenon, the government should be quick to respond to this by opening a space for dialogue for the transgender community and ulama, as well as providing counseling services for this community.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of e-budgeting policies and their impact on realizing the principles of good governance within regional government institutions. The method employed is library research through a systematic review of scholarly journals, books, official reports, and other relevant academic documents. The findings indicate that the adoption of e-budgeting enhances transparency, accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness in public budget management. The system strengthens internal control mechanisms through electronic recording, automated reporting, real-time monitoring, and clearer audit trails. The integration of e-planning and e-budgeting has also been shown to improve coordination among government units and reduce opportunities for budget irregularities. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of its implementation is highly influenced by organizational governance, bureaucratic culture, and the integrity of public officials. Overall, e-budgeting serves as a strategic instrument for reinforcing good governance and increasing public trust in regional financial management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of influencer marketing and electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) on purchasing decisions of Luxcrime products among Generation Z in Makassar City, both directly and indirectly through brand image as a mediating variable. This research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory method. The population consists of Generation Z in Makassar City who actively use TikTok social media and are familiar with Luxcrime products. The sample comprised 150 respondents selected using a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling. Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed via Google Forms. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS version 4.0 software. The results indicate that influencer marketing and E-WOM have positive and significant effects on purchasing decisions and brand image. Furthermore, brand image has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions and positively and significantly mediates the influence of influencer marketing and E-WOM on purchasing decisions. This study provides implications for companies to strengthen brand image through effective influencer marketing strategies and credible E-WOM management on TikTok to enhance consumer purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini didorong oleh tingginya antusiasme pembaca terhadap karya fiksi masa kini 3726 MDPL, yang secara intensif mendayagunakan majas perbandingan guna mengartikulasikan gejolak emosi dan konflik internal para karakternya. Fokus utama riset ini yakni memaparkan klasifikasi gaya bahasa perbandingan sekaligus menguraikan peranan estetisnya di dalam teks fiksi tersebut. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif, menjadikan novel 3726 MDPL karangan Nurwina Sari sebagai sasaran analisis. Proses penjaringan data mengandalkan metode pembacaan cermat dan pencatatan, yang dilanjutkan dengan tahapan pengolahan meliputi reduksi, penyajian data, serta perumusan simpulan. Keabsahan temuan diverifikasi melalui pendekatan triangulasi teori. Merujuk pada perspektif teoretis Al-Ma'ruf (2010), analisis mengungkap eksistensi lima ragam kiasan perbandingan dari total 53 satuan data. Distribusi data tersebut mencakup metafora (24 temuan), personifikasi (20 temuan), simile (7 temuan), serta metonimia dan depersonifikasi (masing-masing 1 temuan), sedangkan alegori, sinekdoke, maupun eponim tidak terdeteksi. Penggunaan majas didominasi secara signifikan oleh metafora dan personifikasi. Secara fungsional, pengarang memaksimalkan nilai estetika gaya bahasa tersebut untuk memproyeksikan tekanan mental dan beban akademik tokoh secara simbolik, sembari memberikan nyawa pada elemen lanskap alam di sepanjang alur cerita.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Marlempang Village have great potential in the field of local processed food products. Unfortunately, most MSME actors do not yet have the ability to utilize visual elements of products such as logo and packaging design. In fact, logos and packaging are important aspects in building brand identity, attracting consumer attention, and increasing the selling value and competitiveness of products. This community service activity aims to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs by providing training in designing logos and packaging that are attractive, functional, and in accordance with the character of the product. The implementation method includes counseling on the importance of visual design, training in making logos and packaging with simple design applications (Canva), and direct assistance for each MSME. The results of the activity showed an increase in MSME actors' understanding of the importance of visual identity and the ability to design logos and product packaging. It is hoped that this activity will contribute to increasing sales and branding of local products in Marlempang Village. With this assistance, MSMEs in Marlempang Village have a greater opportunity to develop sustainably. This activity has a positive impact on the branding and competitiveness of local MSME products. Further recommendations are digital marketing training and product legality assistance to increase business scale.

Abstract

Advances in information technology have had a major impact on the education sector, including at the Early Childhood Education (PAUD) level. To improve the quality of education services, PAUD institutions are required to implement a more sophisticated, accurate, and efficient management system through the use of an integrated information system. This study raises various obstacles faced by PAUD KB Tsamrotul Hikmah, especially in terms of recording teacher attendance, submitting leave, and managing finances that still use manual methods. This conventional system has been shown to reduce work effectiveness, increase the possibility of errors, and weaken the transparency and accountability aspects of the institution. To overcome these problems, an information system was developed to support automated administration processes and more systematic data management. The findings of this study indicate that digitalization of administration can improve work efficiency and data accuracy, as well as build public trust in the institution. Therefore, the implementation of an integrated information system is considered a strategic step in creating more professional, open, and sustainable PAUD management.

Abstract

Structural modification of the sensor is necessary to improve the sensitivity of cyanide ion (CN⁻) detection, which has a threshold of 1.9 × 10⁻⁶ M according to WHO. This study aims to evaluate the potential of (E)-2-(benzoxazol-2-yl)-3-phenylacrylonitrile (S6) as a benzoxazole-based cyanide ion sensor through a computational approach. This study used DFT/B3LYP/6-31G(d) and TD-DFT methods to analyze electronic properties, molecular interactions, absorption shifts, binding constants, detection limits, and electrostatic potential maps. The results show that the addition of a dicyanovinyl group to S6 produced a HOMO energy of -5.9247 eV, a LUMO energy of -3.2493 eV, and an energy gap (ΔE) of 2.6754 eV. The interaction of S6 with CN⁻ formed the S6-CN complex through nucleophilic addition and N-H···N≡C hydrogen bonding, which narrowed ΔE to 2.3829 eV and induced a bathochromic shift of 69 nm from 352 nm to 421 nm. The binding constant k_bind value of 1.25 × 10⁴ M⁻¹ and detection limit of 1.4 × 10⁻⁵ M indicate that S6 has 31-fold higher sensitivity than S5. The ESP map confirms that N-H, with a value of +45.2 kcal/mol, acts as the active site. The conclusion of this study affirms that the dual mechanism in S6 supports high selectivity toward CN⁻ and contributes to the rational design of benzoxazole-based cyanide sensors.

Abstract

Rapid detection of cyanide ions (CN⁻) with a WHO threshold of 1.9 × 10⁻⁶ M requires the development of an economical and selective colorimetric sensor. This study aims to evaluate 1-phenyl-1H-benzimidazole (S5) as a candidate CN⁻ sensor through a computational approach. This study used DFT/B3LYP/6-31G(d) and TD-DFT methods to analyze electronic properties, molecular interactions, UV-Vis spectral shifts, binding constants, detection limits, and electrostatic potential maps. The calculation results show that S5 has a HOMO energy of -5.5325 eV, a LUMO energy of -2.5569 eV, and an energy gap (ΔE) of 2.9757 eV. The interaction of S5 with CN⁻ formed the S5-CN complex through N-H···N≡C hydrogen bonding, which narrowed ΔE to 2.6578 eV or decreased it by 0.3179 eV. This narrowing of ΔE induced a bathochromic shift in the UV-Vis spectrum, which serves as the basis for color change. The binding constant k_bind value of 2.9 × 10³ M⁻¹ and detection limit of 4.36 × 10⁻⁴ M indicate that S5 has moderate affinity, but its sensitivity remains low. The ESP map confirms that N-H acts as the active site. The conclusion of this study affirms that although S5 is selective toward CN⁻, its detection limit remains 230 times above the WHO threshold, indicating that further structural modification is required. This study provides an initial contribution to establishing S5 as a basic framework for the design of next-generation benzimidazole-based cyanide sensors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the health of Bank Muamalat Indonesia and examine the effect of internal factors on the bank's profitability. The bank health analysis was conducted using the CAMEL, RGEC, and Altman Z-Score approaches for the 2020-2024 period, while the analysis of the influence of internal factors on profitability used the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model with quarterly time series data for the 2017-2024 period, where Return on Assets (ROA) is used as the dependent variable and Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), and Non-Performing Financing (NPF) as independent variables. The results of the bank health analysis show that Bank Muamalat Indonesia is in a strong and stable financial condition, with relatively stable capital, liquidity, and financing risk, as well as a Z-Score that is consistently in the safe zone, although its profitability performance is still relatively low. The ARDL estimation results show that FDR has a negative effect in the short term but a significant positive effect in the long term on ROA, while CAR, BOPO, and NPF have a significant negative effect on ROA. These findings indicate that although Bank Muamalat has strong financial stability, increasing profitability is highly dependent on optimizing intermediation functions, improving operational efficiency, and managing financing quality.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the need to develop innovative, visual, and concise learning media to support students’ understanding of the aldol reaction topic in the Mechanisms and Synthesis of Organic Compounds (MSSO) course. This study aims to analyze the need for developing a chemistry magazine on the topic of aldol reactions, particularly crossed aldol reactions. This descriptive study with a mixed-method approach involved 31 Chemistry Education students at the University of Mataram from the 2022 cohort who had taken the MSSO course. The research instruments included a needs analysis questionnaire consisting of nine questions, semi-structured interview guidelines for three informants, and a document analysis sheet. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive percentages, whereas qualitative data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that all students (100%) experienced difficulties in understanding the mechanism of crossed aldol reactions, while the available learning media, namely PowerPoint presentations and textbooks, were considered ineffective by 100% of respondents. In addition, 93.5% of students strongly agreed that a chemistry magazine was the desired learning medium. Students’ preferences for reading supplements included colorful layouts (87.1%), a combination of text and images (90.3%), and a communicative language style (83.9%). These findings indicate a gap between students’ need for innovative, visual, and concise reading supplements and the reality of learning, which still relies on conventional media. The conclusion of this study affirms that the results of the needs analysis serve as an important basis for developing a chemistry magazine on crossed aldol reaction material as a valid, practical, and effective reading supplement.
