Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the scramble method on students' interest and understanding of the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject in Grade X at MAN 2 Kota Cirebon. The research was motivated by the low level of student interest and understanding, as demonstrated by a lack of active participation and difficulty in understanding the texts of the Qur'an and Hadith, which is thought to be related to the use of conventional teaching methods. This study used a quantitative approach with a non-experimental descriptive correlational design. The data were analysed to determine the relationship between the use of the scramble method as an independent variable and student interest and understanding as dependent variables. The results of the analysis showed a correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.573, which is in the moderate correlation category and is positive, thus indicating a significant influence between the two variables. The contribution of determination was 60%, indicating that the scramble method contributed significantly to increasing student interest and understanding, with an increase of 33%. Thus, the scramble method can be used as an alternative active learning strategy in Al-Qur'an Hadith lessons.

Abstract

Astronomy from the 8th to 14th centuries CE played a crucial role in meeting the practical needs of Muslims, particularly in determining the direction of the Qibla and establishing the Hijri calendar, which requires precise geographical orientation and timing of worship. Although the traditional practice of rukyat (seeing the sun) has been used, modern literature has not systematically evaluated the contribution of classical astronomy theories and instruments to the accuracy of worship and religious administration. This study aims to describe the contributions of classical astronomers, such as al-Khwārizmī, al-Battānī, al-Bīrūnī, Naṣr al-Dīn al-Ṭūsī, Ibn Yūnus, and Ibn Shāṭir, in the development of instruments, observation methods, and mathematical calculations, and to evaluate their influence on the accuracy of the Qibla direction and the Hijri calendar. The technique used is qualitative-historical, with the exploration of classical astronomical works, manuscripts, and contemporary literature, analyzed critically and hermeneutically to assess astronomical instruments’ methodological innovation and accuracy. The results of the study show that astronomical scientists such as al-Khwārizmī, al-Battānī, al-Bīrūnī, Naṣr al-Dīn al-Ṭūsī, Ibn Yūnus, and Ibn Shāṭir succeeded in developing the theory of spherical trigonometry, methods for measuring the sun’s shadow, and observation instruments such as astrolabes and mural quadrants, thus ensuring the accuracy of the direction of the Qibla in various Islamic regions. In the context of the Hijri calendar, their innovations resulted in more accurate astronomical calculations to determine the beginning of the month, reducing dependence solely on traditional rukyat and supporting state administration and navigation. In conclusion, the contribution of classical astronomy was not only practical in supporting ritual needs but also provided a methodological foundation for modern astronomy, emphasizing the importance of integration between empirical observation and mathematical theory in the development of Islamic science.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Halal Food Supply Chain Management (HFSCM) on the competitive advantage of Food & Beverages MSMEs fostered by Pekanbaru SOE Houses. The background of the research is based on the low level of halal certification and the lack of optimal implementation of halal supply chains in the culinary MSME sector, even though Indonesia has great potential in the halal industry. The study used a quantitative approach with the SEM-PLS method and involved 130 active MSME respondents. HFSCM is measured through six dimensions: halal raw material, halal process, halal packaging, halal warehousing, halal transportation, and halal distribution. Competitive advantage is measured through product quality, innovation, delivery accuracy, service, and differentiation. The results of the study show that the entire hypothesis is accepted. HFSCM has been proven to have a positive and significant influence on the competitive advantage of MSMEs. Supplier Partnership is the most dominant factor in increasing competitiveness, while Human Development is the strongest predictor of HFSCM. The R² value of 74.3% in the competitive advantage variable and 69.2% in HFSCM indicates the high predictive power of the model. This study confirms that the implementation of a halal supply chain as a whole increases consumer confidence, operational quality, and the competitive position of MSMEs. These findings make a practical contribution to the development of MSMEs, especially in strengthening human resource competencies, supplier partnerships, and digital literacy to support the sustainable implementation of HFSCM.

Abstract

This study explores the issue of students' low Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Science, specifically on the topic of Acids, Bases, and Salts, in Class VII-5 at UPT SPF SMPN 40 Makassar. The research aims to evaluate how effective the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, supported by interactive media, is in improving students’ HOTS. It also examines the level of improvement in each learning cycle and assesses the observed HOTS development throughout the study. Additionally, the research seeks to determine whether there is a significant increase in students' HOTS after applying the PBL model with interactive media. This study follows the Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, conducted in two cycles that include planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through HOTS test results (quantitative data) and classroom observations (qualitative data). In the pre-cycle stage, none of the students passed the test, with all 30 students falling below the learning criteria. In Cycle I, 18 students passed, while 12 did not, leading to a class-wide learning completion rate of 60%, categorized as low. Classroom observations during this cycle showed a score of 59.58%, considered fair. In Cycle II, all students successfully passed, increasing the success rate to 83.33%, classified as high. Observations also improved, reaching 66.67%, categorized as good. These findings suggest that the use of Problem-Based Learning with interactive media can effectively enhance students' HOTS.
