Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the existence and effectiveness of the Sharia Court of Lhokseumawe’s rulings on post-divorce child support obligations through a normative-empirical legal research approach. Normatively, the analysis draws on Law No. 1 of 1974 on Marriage, the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), and Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, while empirically it relies on case studies of court decisions and interviews with judges. The findings reveal that the court consistently upholds the father’s responsibility to provide child support after divorce, reflecting alignment with statutory provisions, Islamic principles, and the doctrine of the best interests of the child. However, variations in the determination of support amounts and weak enforcement mechanisms demonstrate a gap between “law in the books” and “law in action.” Sociological analysis further shows that ineffective enforcement disproportionately burdens women and children, exacerbating economic vulnerability and the feminization of poverty. The study concludes that while the normative foundation of child support rulings is strong, their practical effectiveness requires improvements in drafting quality, standardized guidelines, and enforcement mechanisms, alongside greater collaboration between the judiciary, government, and society to ensure substantive justice and child welfare.

Abstract

Agroindustry, as a vital subsystem in agribusiness, has great potential to boost economic growth through significant market share and added value. Most of this sector is dominated by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Business sustainability can be assessed by its response to changes, such as raw material prices and production declines due to falling demand. This study aims to evaluate business feasibility and sensitivity to changes in raw material prices and production in the chocolate industry. This quantitative descriptive study was conducted in four chocolate processing SMEs in Palu, Central Sulawesi, from September to November 2023 with respondents selected purposively, namely 4 leaders of chocolate SMEs. The analysis used included financial feasibility and sensitivity analysis. The results show that the financial feasibility of chocolate SMIs in Palu, both for secondary and tertiary products, is feasible based on the NPV, IRR, and B/C criteria, with Ema Cokelat SMI being the best. The fastest return on investment was also achieved by Ema Cokelat SMI, which was 2 years and 4 days. In the sensitivity analysis, secondary and tertiary products with an interest rate of 18% showed that the Chocolate Home Industry and Rapoviaka Simple SME were sensitive to a 30% decrease in production and an increase in raw material prices. Meanwhile, Ema Cokelat SME was not sensitive to these two changes, and Sakaya Cokelat SME was sensitive to a decrease in production but not to an increase in raw material costs.

Abstract

Rice farming remains a vital sector for rural communities in Indonesia, but dependence on conventional systems has resulted in low productivity and economic instability for farmers. This activity aims to introduce the Rice-Duck-Turi (RDT) system as a sustainable Integrated Farming System (IFS) model applied to the Karya Makmur Farmer Group in Air Satan Village, Musi Rawas Regency. This approach integrates rice cultivation with duck farming in the fields and the planting of turi (Sesbania spp) on the embankments. The research method used a participatory approach through socialization, training, mentoring, and field evaluation activities. The results of this activity show that the Paitri system can reduce the use of chemical fertilizers by up to 25% and provide additional income through duck egg and meat production. The integration of turi plays a role in providing natural organic fertilizer and forage, while also improving soil fertility. This system also strengthens social solidarity and economic independence among farmers through mutual assistance and collective learning. The implementation of the Paitri system has proven to be an efficient, environmentally friendly, and economically valuable sustainable agricultural innovation that can be replicated in other rural areas to strengthen local food security.

Abstract

Digital transformation in librarianship, particularly for librarians as actors in scholarly communication, marks a new era in the governance of digital knowledge products. This transformation presents opportunities for libraries to enhance their operational efficiency through technological integration. In this context, librarians’ digital literacy is a critical competency that supports the success of digital transformation in libraries. This competency extends beyond technological proficiency to include skills in managing and disseminating knowledge products, encompassing cultural heritage, local wisdom, and general knowledge. This study aims to explore the readiness of libraries in facing digital transformation, particularly in ensuring the sustainable accessibility of cultural heritage through digitization. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with an interpretative and constructivist perspective. Data collection is conducted through a literature review, while data analysis follows the Miles & Huberman model, comprising data reduction, data display, and verification. The findings indicate that the success of library digital transformation depends on three key aspects: operational agility, customer-centricity, and workforce competencies. Librarians’ digital literacy is a crucial factor in navigating these changes, encompassing technological capabilities, media interpretation, and skills in access, management, innovation, and collaboration. Furthermore, the digitization of cultural heritage has been identified as a priority to ensure broader access to information and the sustainable preservation of cultural assets in a modern format. Thus, librarians’ digital literacy is a determining factor in maintaining the relevance of libraries in the digital era and meeting the evolving information needs of society.
