Abstract

Indonesia a tropical country that remains warm all year, has the largest biodiversity. This study aims to determine the diversity of bats of the order Microchiroptera in Rau Cave, Wolasi, Conservation (Protected) Forest area, around Aoma Village, South Konawe Regency. Data collection was carried out using a mist net measuring 6 x 2 meters which were stretched in front of the mouth of the cave at 16.00 before the bats came out looking for food and harvested at 06.00-0.700. The trapped bats were identified using the Sulawesi Bat and its role in the health sector, and other relevant references. The results showed that there were 26 trapped bats consisting of  5 species, namely Rhinolopus arcuatus (Prok Bruk Sulawesi), Hipposideros ater (Barong gauld), Dobsonia viridis (Kubu Hijau), Miniopterus australis (Tomosu australi) and Hipposideros dinops (Barong horsfield). The species found consisted of 2 families, namely the families Rhinolopidae and Hipposideridae, and consisted of 2 genera, namely the genera of Dobsonia and Miniopterus. The diversity index shows a value (H') = 0.986, which indicates a low category in diversity and a Margalef wealth index (R) of 0.26. It is necessary to conserve plant species both for eating insects and for food sources for Microchiroptera bats in their feeding ground

Abstract

Endophytic fungi are microbes that reside symbiotically in the plant tissues with undetected negative impacts to their host plants. These fungi are able to produce elements similar to those produced by their host plants. Secang (Caesalpinia sappan L.) has been known as one of the medicinal plants that contains compounds with antioxidant activity thus promote a hypothesis that its endophytic fungi may yield a similar antioxidant effect. In this study, the isolation of endophytic fungi from Secang as the producer of antioxidant compounds was carried out. At the initial stage, endophytic fungi were isolated from the leaves, the twigs, the stems, and the rootsof Secang using the agar plate method. Pure fungi isolates were then subjected to fermentation process using the PDBgrowth medium supplemented with yeast extractand wereconstantly shaken for 12 days at a speed of 200 rpm to produce secondary metabolites. Fermentatesobtained from all fungi isolates were then extracted using ethyl acetate and further tested for their antioxidant activities. In this study, of 19 isolates that were obtained from four parts of the Secang, five fungi isolates, coded as IFD1, IFD4, IFR5, IFA1, and IFA2 were found to yield antioxidant activities demonstrated by the presence of yellow spots on the chromatogram. elementary schools representatives “not good ranking”, the education did not influence their knowledge with a p value of 0.149. Analysis of the Wilcoxon test in all elementary schools showed a p value p ≤ 0,001, which meant that education had an influence on the knowledge of fifth grade students in elementary schools in Palu City.

Abstract

The banking industry is under pressure to integrate sustainability practices while maintaining profitability. This research aims to examine the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Disclosure, Leverage (Debt-to-Equity Ratio/DER), and firm SIZE (SIZE) on financial performance (Return on Assets/ROA) in publicly-owned banks KBMI 3 and 4 during the period of 2019 ~ 2023, as well as the moderating role of Credit Quality (Non-Performing Loan/NPL). Data from five years across eight banks were analyzed using random and fixed-effects regression. The main results indicate that ESG Disclosure and DER have a significant positive direct effect on ROA, while SIZE has a negative effect. NPL has been proven to strengthen the relationship between ESG-ROA and DER-ROA confirming that good credit risk management enhances the benefits of sustainability strategies and funding but does not moderate the influence of company SIZE. This moderation model demonstrates a strong capacity to account for variation in ROA, highlighting the crucial synergy between ESG practices and credit risk management in enhancing bank performance

Abstract

Education in Indonesia, especially Islamic education, has not been sufficient to form a humanist personality and is still primordialistic and sectarian in character. This study aims to show the values of humanistic Islamic education in the thought of Ahmad Syafii Maarif’s. This research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis using library research, and in-depth interviews. This research shows that the essence of education in Ahmad Syafii Maarif's perspective is the process of humanization (a process that liberates and humanizes humans) which directly has an organic link with the spiritual-transcendental dimension. In Ahmad Syafii Maarif's thought, it is found that the values of humanistic Islamic education can be summarized in six points, namely: the value of egalitarianism, the value of tolerance, the value of pluralism, the value of justice, the value of universal brotherhood, and the value of peace or non-violence. The results of this study are expected in addition to increasing the wealth of intellectual treasures in the study of the thought of figures in the field of Islamic education, but also can be considered in developing a more humanistic educational foundation and practice.

Abstract

Since the early 1990s, the complexity of ERP systems has posed a challenge for practitioners, but the amount of empirical research exploring new ERP projects has increased over the past ten years. The progress of information technology (IT) has been disrupted by the emergence of new trending and rapidly evolving topics, causing the focus of information systems (IS) research to continuously shift to new issues before the theory or normative knowledge for existing topics is fully developed. The situation occurring in ERP research reflects a problem hindering the progress of the IS discipline: widespread dissatisfaction with the delay between the practical issues faced by practitioners and the normative knowledge generated by academic research. Using ERP as an example, this paper presents two main arguments: (a) IT-based innovations can be addressed by recognizing the important patterns behind each emerging IT phenomenon; and (b) once these important patterns are recognized, a complementary logic between variance- and process-oriented lessons can be proposed, which benefits the advancement of the ERP research model and provides relevant and timely practical lessons.
