Science Process Skills (SPS) are skills used in scientific inquiry that can facilitate students discovering facts, concepts, and can apply theories in everyday life. One of the supporting science process skills is the textbook. Textbooks are the main source of learning in the learning process. The use of textbooks in West Sumatra varies greatly. This study aims to determine the level of SPS offers in textbooks used in secondary schools in West Sumatra. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach with a population of all physics textbooks for Class XII semester 2 published in Indonesia and used in secondary schools in West Sumatra. The sample of this study were four Physics textbooks that were most widely used in secondary schools in West Sumatra and three of them were recommended by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The instrument used was validated by 3 experts. the first expert got a value of 0.98% categorized as very valid, the second expert obtained a value of 0.96 categorized very valid and the third expert got a value of 0.85 categorized as very valid. The validated instrument has 10 components and is defined on each indicator to be 37 instrument points. Data collection techniques used were interviews and documentation. The results were obtained that physics textbooks written by Muhammad Farchani Rosyid, and published by the Triumvirate in 2016, had the highest SPS bid level, whereas physics textbooks written by Marthen Kanginan and published by Erlangga in 2017 had the lowest SPS service level.

Integrating Science, ICT, and character values in learning are important in education. The fact of this integration is not done optimal in school. Alternative solution of this problem is use of student worksheet based web by integrating character values in the learning of natural science. The purpose of this research is determine the competence of students in learning by using of student worksheet based web by integrating character values in the learning of natural science in materials linear motion, structure of plan, motion system, simple machine and investigate the impact of student worksheet based web by integrating character values in the learning of natural science in materials linear motion, structure of plan, motion system, simple machine the competence of students class VIII SMPN 8 Padang. The kind of this reseach is the quasi experiment research. The population of this research were all of the students of SMPN 8 Padang of academic year 2014/2015. Sampling technique was purposive sampling. The data of the research were the competence of students on aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Research instrument in the form of sheets of learning outcomes assessment, observation sheets, and performance assessment sheet. Based on data analysis of research that has been done can be stated that the results of this study are: competence of students in learning by use of student worksheet based web by integrating character values in the learning of natural science on aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills respectly 76.17, 81.60, and 89.84. Education is one of the factors that has a major influence in the progress of the 21st century. The government's efforts to deal with the challenges of the 21st century are to cultivate the school literacy movement. In addition, the government also seeks to improve learning outcomes by implementing Integrated Science learning in junior high schools. Real conditions in the field it seems that of Integrated Science learning outcomes are still relatively low. The right solution to the problem is to use Integrated science student worksheet with scientific literacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of research using science science student worksheet with scientific literacy as the theme of digestive health in class VIII adaptive learning contextual learning model at 7th Public Middle School in Padang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research. The research design used was Posttest-Only Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this research were all eighth grade students. The sample in this research was class VIII 2 as the experimental class and VIII 3 as the control class obtained by purposive sampling technique and cluster random sampling. The instruments used to collect data are observation sheets to assess attitudes, test sheets allocated to knowledge, and scientific performance sheets for skills competencies. The results of the research were obtained after analyzing the data with descriptive statistical analysis and two average trials. The application of Science student worksheet with scientific literacy in the adaptive contextual learning model of digestive health is related to differences in student learning outcomes with a 95% confidence level. This means that the Science student worksheet with scientific literacy in the adaptive contextual learning model of digestive health has an effect on the results of class VIII of SMP 7 Padang. So, applying the Science Literacy student worksheet is effectively applied in Integrated Science learning.

Curriculum of 2013 requires science learning is implemented in an integrated teaching. However, the reality in schools shows that the integrated science learning isn’t implemented well yet. The solution of this problem is to develop an integrated science teaching material which orient contextual learning to improve students’ literacy. The purpose of research is to determine validity, practicality, and effectiveness of integrated science teaching material. The type of this research is Research and Development (R & D). The object of the research was integrated science teaching material which orient contextual learning. Instruments to collect the data consist of validition sheet, practicality test sheet, and effectiveness test sheet. Techniques of data analysis were descriptive statistics analysis, graph method, and correlation compare mean test. Based on data analysis it can be stated that two of research results. First, integrated science teaching material which orient contextual learning was very valid with an average value of 83.2. Second, implementation of integrated science teaching material which orient contextual learning was practice according teacher and students with average value respectly of 90.0 and 83.5. Besides that, implementation of integrated science teaching material which orient contextual learning was effective to improve the competence of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Students skills consist of functional literacy, scientific literacy and visual literacy

The era of the industrial revolution 4.0 which is very influential in human life today, especially in the field of education to create better generations for the nation. Education is demanded to be able to improve qualified human resources. The 2013 revised 2017 curriculum was an attempt by the government to answer the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0 era which aims to shape the character and competence and literacy of students. However, the reality on the ground showed that student literacy has not been implemented well. One solution to overcome these problems is to develop a cognitive conflict based Physics Worksheet. The purpose of this research was to determine the validity, practicality and effectiveness of the student worksheet Physics based on cognitive conflict. This type of research is Development Research using the Plomp model. The object of the research was cognitive conflict based student worksheet. Data source validation results from experts by the Physics lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNP, the results of practicality by Physics teachers, as well as the results of the practicality of one to one and small groups and effectiveness by students of class X SMAN 7 Padang. The data analysis technique used were descriptive statistical analysis for product validation and practicality and for the effectiveness of using the percentage technique seen from differences in pretest and posttest. The results of data analysis from the research that has been done as following. First, the cognitive conflict based worksheet has a very strong validity with an average value of 86.35. Second, the use of cognitive conflict-based worksheets has a very strong practicality with an average grade of one to one and small group students respectively at 87.32 and 90.90. Third, the use of cognitive conflict based LKS on straight motion and parabolic motion material is effectively used in the learning process to improve students' new literacy. So, it can be concluded that the worksheet based on cognitive conflict in the material of straight motion and parabolic motion is valid, practical, and effective in increasing the new literacy of class X high school students.

Improving the quality of learning aspects can not be separated from teaching materials and learning models used. Teaching materials that can attract students to learn one of them by using Student Worksheets (LKS). One solution that can be used is developing LKS oriented quantum learning models. This study aims to produce science-based LKS oriented quantum learning models that are valid, practical, and effective so that they can be adjusted by semester 1 VIII grade students. The research conducted included the type of Research and Development (R & D). As object of research, the Science LKS is oriented towards the quantum learning model. The data collection instruments used in this study were: Questionnaire for expert validation, Questionnaire of practicality according to science teacher, Questionnaire of practicality according to students, and sheet of pretest postes on aspects of knowledge. Product analysis techniques and data used are descriptive techniques, graph methods, descriptive statistical analysis, and comparative analysis using t-test.Based on the data analysis that has been done, the results of this study were obtained. First, science-based worksheets oriented to the quantum learning model in class VIII in the first semester of junior high school are in a very valid category with a validity value of 86.12. Second, the science worksheet oriented to this quantum learning model is very practical with 89.84 for the results of the average teacher response and 81.63 for the results of the average student response. Third, the use of scientific approach oriented learning devices is effective in learning which is marked by an increase in the competency of students' natural science students significantly between after and before the use of learning devices at a real level of 5%.

The 21st century education requires human resources who have broad insight, good critical thinking, and good literacy. The Indonesian government created the 2013 curriculum to answer the demands of 21st century education. Science learning in the 2013 curriculum must be implemented in an integrated patter. The real condition at school showed that science learning can’t be implemented properly. One solution to solve this problem is to develop integrated Science learning material with scientific literacy. The purpose of this research was to determine the validity of integrated Science learning material with scientific literacy. The type of research was Research and Development (R & D). The object of the research was the integrated Science learning material with scientific literacy on the theme of the role of energy for living things. The instrument for validating this learning material was a questionnaire sheet. The instrument for evaluating validity was composed of four components, namely the content feasibility, presentation, language, and graphics. The validators to assess the validity of integrated Science learning materials consist of five experts from three physics lectures, one biology lecturer, and one science lecturer. The data analysis technique was descriptive statistics. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the average value of validation of integrated Science learning material with scientific literacy on the theme of the role of energy for living things for the four components of assessment of teaching materials was 87.86. Thus, the average value of validation of integrated science learning material can be classified into a very good category.

In 2013 curriculum, science teaching should be implemented in integrated form in Junior High School. The real conditions show that integrated science teaching in school can’t implemented well. An alternative solution of this problem is to apply the integrated science textbook in adaptive contextual teaching model. The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of integrated science textbook on our digestive health theme in adaptive contextual teaching model toward the competences of the grade VIII students in SMPN 15 Padang. The type of research was quasi experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. Samples in this research were taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consist of observation sheet for attitude competency, written test for knowledge competency and performance assessment for skill competency. Data of this research were analyzed by using descriptive statistical analysis and compare mean test for attitude, knowledge, and skill competences. The results of data analysis show that the implementation of integrated science textbook on our digestive health theme in adaptive contextual teaching model gives significant effect on the attitude, the knowledge and the skill competences at 95 % level confidence of grade VIII students in VIII SMPN 15 Padang.

In 2013 curriculum, the science learning was carried out in an integrated form. In the school of science learning conditions hasn’t been successful in implementing the integrated learning. A solution to this problem is the integrated science worksheet by integrating digital age literacy. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of integrated science student worksheet by integrating literacy on competency of grade VIII students. The type of research conducted was a quasi experiment with before-after design. The population in this research were all students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 13 Padang Academic Year 2017/2018. The sample in the research was grade VIII 2 which was obtained by purposive sampling technique. Research instruments for knowledge was written test, observation sheet for attitude aspect and performance assessment sheet forskillsaspects. Data analysis were statistical descriptive analysis and correlated comparision test. The results of this research are the use of integrated student worksheet by integraty digital age literacy gives significant effect on competency of student including, attitude, knowledge, and skill aspects at 95% confidence level. Thus, the use of Integrated science student worksheetby integrity digital age literacy is effective in science approach on grade VIII SMP Negeri 13 Padang.

This research aims to analyze the effect of Project Based Learning on students' critical thinking abilities. The method of this study is a meta-analysis with a sample of 10 journals of education and research theses in national journals and instruments in the form of coding categories. The meta-analysis study shows that the effect of Project Based Learning on students' critical thinking abilities from the subject level of education, Project Based Learning is equally positive for both high school (SMA) and vocational levels (SMK) but is more effectively used by students in high school education. Meanwhile from subject matter subjects, Project Based Learning is more influential on Sound Wave material than other material. And from the subject of Media that is used, Project Based Learning has a positive effect when using real or virtual media. Other findings show that Project Based Learning has a high influence on students' critical thinking skills
