Abstract

The digital literacy gap in rural areas remains a major challenge in ensuring equitable education quality in Indonesia, particularly at the elementary school level which often lacks technological facilities. This service aims to optimize basic computer competence and stimulate student creativity through intensive mentoring. The service partners in this activity are elementary education institutions and the surrounding community identified as having limited access to information technology devices. The implementation method uses a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach with a learning by doing technique focused on three main aspects: hardware introduction, ten-finger typing training using the interactive site Typingcore, and creative visualization using Microsoft Paint. The activity was carried out for six weeks involving active student participation and full support from village officials. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of computer device functions and increased fine motor skills in using the mouse and keyboard. Success indicators are seen from the ability of 100% of students to operate booting and shutdown procedures independently, an increase in average typing speed, and the creation of simple, original digital works as activity outputs. The implication of this activity is the formation of students' adaptive mindsets towards technology. In conclusion, the direct practice method proved effective in building children's self-confidence, reducing technology anxiety (technophobia), and becoming a feasible mentoring model to be replicated for areas with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Introduction: Postoperative pain management is a crucial aspect of nursing care that directly influences patient comfort and recovery outcomes. Effective pain control requires not only clinical intervention but also family involvement, as families assist in daily care and monitoring patient conditions. However, limited family knowledge regarding pain management often creates barriers to optimal recovery and increases the risk of postoperative complications. Objective: This community service activity aimed to improve family knowledge of postoperative pain management at Setio Husodo General Hospital, Kisaran, and to strengthen family participation in supporting the patient recovery process. Method: The activity was conducted on October 9, 2025, involving ten family members of postoperative patients. An educational and participatory approach was applied through health education sessions, interactive discussions, and direct demonstrations using leaflets. Educational materials included an explanation of postoperative pain, recognition of pain symptoms, pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management strategies, and the role of families in patient care. Knowledge levels were assessed through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The data were analyzed descriptively by comparing the average knowledge scores before and after the intervention. Result: The results demonstrated a significant improvement in family knowledge. The average knowledge score increased from 54.8 before the intervention to 69.2 after the education sessions. Participants showed better understanding in identifying pain symptoms and applying non-pharmacological pain management techniques such as relaxation, distraction, and proper positioning. Active engagement during discussions reflected increased awareness of the importance of family involvement in postoperative care. Conclusion: Health education effectively improved family knowledge regarding postoperative pain management at Setio Husodo General Hospital, Kisaran. This program is expected to become a sustainable initiative to enhance family engagement and improve the quality of nursing services.

Abstract

Despite the rapid expansion of digital commerce in Indonesia’s cosmetics sector, the mechanisms through which immersive digital experiences shape consumer decision-making remain insufficiently understood, particularly with respect to the interaction between trust formation and tactile preferences. Addressing this gap, the present study investigates how multidimensional immersive experiences influence impulse buying behavior through the mediating role of trust, while considering need for touch as a moderating factor. Immersive experience is conceptualized through three dimensions that are increasingly prevalent in digital cosmetic marketing, namely augmented reality virtual try-on, live streaming commerce, and social media marketing activities. Employing a cross-sectional research design, data were collected from 451 Indonesian consumers aged 18 to 40 years who had purchased international cosmetic brands via digital platforms within the previous six months. The proposed hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The findings indicate that all three immersive dimensions significantly enhance consumer trust, with social media marketing exerting the strongest influence, followed by live streaming commerce and augmented reality virtual try-on. Trust, in turn, has a positive and significant effect on impulse buying behavior. Importantly, the results reveal that need for touch negatively moderates the relationship between trust and impulse buying, suggesting that consumers with higher tactile preferences tend to engage in greater purchase deliberation despite elevated levels of trust. The structural model demonstrates strong explanatory power for both trust and impulse buying. This study contributes to the literature by operationalizing immersive experience as a multidimensional construct and identifying tactile preference as a critical boundary condition in digital consumption contexts. From a practical perspective, the findings offer strategic insights for international cosmetic brands in tailoring digital marketing approaches that align with consumers’ sensory orientations in emerging markets such as Indonesia.

Abstract

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a neurological disorder caused by compression of the median nerve, commonly observed among workers performing repetitive movements. Online motorcycle taxi drivers represent a high-risk group due to demands for extended working hours and non-ergonomic riding postures. This study aimed to analyse the association between working posture, working duration, and complaints of CTS among online motorcycle taxi drivers. This observational analytical study employed a cross-sectional design and involved 92 online motorcycle taxi drivers in the Universitas Prima Indonesia area, Medan, selected via consecutive sampling. Data were collected using a characteristics questionnaire, the Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire (BCTQ), Phalen's Test, and posture observation using the Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA). Data were analysed using the Chi-Square test. Results indicated that 57.6% of respondents reported CTS complaints. The majority of respondents worked longer than 8 hours per day (66.3%) and had low-risk working postures (48.9%); however, the proportion of CTS was highest among those with high-risk postures (72.4%). Statistical analysis revealed a significant association between working posture and CTS occurrence (p=0.041) and between working duration and CTS occurrence (p=0.009). Working longer than 8 hours per day conferred a 3.2-fold increased risk of developing CTS. It is concluded that poor working posture and prolonged working duration are significantly associated with a higher incidence of CTS among online motorcycle taxi drivers. Ergonomic interventions, regulation of working hours, and occupational health education are recommended for prevention.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of entrepreneurship on the economic independence of students at the Raden Intan State Islamic University of Lampung, with Internal Locus of Control as a moderating variable. A quantitative approach was used, employing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected through an online questionnaire completed by 96 respondents who were entrepreneurs at the State Islamic University Raden Intan Lampung. Based on the background of this article, the method used in this study was a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The results showed that entrepreneurship had a positive and significant effect on economic independence. Meanwhile, internal locus of control was not able to moderate the relationship between entrepreneurship and economic independence. These findings indicate that the higher the level of student involvement in entrepreneurial activities, the greater their financial independence. From an Islamic business perspective, entrepreneurship and internal locus of control are noble efforts to achieve economic independence. However, they must be complemented by Tawakkal (trust in God) to ensure sustainability, avoid arrogance, and reject resignation. This study recommends expanding the research object so that it is not limited to certain students, allowing the generalization of results to be tested in a wider area.
