Abstract

ABSTRACT The ability to write descriptive texts in German language learning remains a challenge for students due to limitations in developing ideas, using appropriate vocabulary, and constructing sentences according to grammatical rules. This condition emphasizes the importance of implementing learning strategies that encourage more participatory learning activities, are contextually relevant, and foster students’ creativity. Therefore, this study focused on improving descriptive writing skills in German through the implementation of Project-Based Learning supported by the Pixton digital comic media. This study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was conducted in two learning cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research involved 36 students of class XI-8 at SMAN 1 Driyorejo as the research subjects. Data collection techniques included writing skill tests, observations of learning activities, and documentation of the projects produced by students. The research data were analyzed descriptively using quantitative and qualitative approaches to identify improvements in learning achievement as well as the development of students’ participation during the learning process. The findings demonstrated a progressive improvement in students’ writing skills. The average learning outcomes increased gradually from 53 before the intervention to 68 in the first cycle and 82 in the second cycle. In addition to improving academic achievement, the use of Pixton media also assisted students in organizing ideas more systematically, expanding vocabulary mastery, improving grammatical accuracy, and encouraging active participation throughout the learning process. Thus, this study indicates that the integration of Project-Based Learning and digital visual media can serve as an effective instructional innovation for enhancing German writing skills at the secondary school level.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The This study aims to explore Indonesian Muslim women's understanding of sexual and reproductive health education in an Islamic perspective. The study also seeks to identify the factors that cause low levels of knowledge and formulate recommendations to improve sexual and reproductive literacy based on Islamic values. Methodology: This study used a qualitative approach with an in-depth interview method of four groups of Muslim women of various age ranges. The data is analyzed through interactive analysis techniques that include three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. Main Findings: The results showed that as many as 92.6% of participants had a low understanding of sexual and reproductive health education from an Islamic perspective. The main obstacles include the existence of social and cultural stigma on this issue, the assumption that sexual education is only the responsibility of religious leaders, the lack of education from an early age, and the lack of repetition programs from formal educational institutions. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study emphasizes the importance of a collaborative approach in Islamic-based sexuality education, by synergistically involving parents, educators, religious leaders, and the government. The uniqueness of this research lies in its approach that combines religious values and social-educational strategies to create a comprehensive and non-fragmented learning system.

Abstract

An ideal education should respect the uniqueness of every child, each of whom possesses different intelligences and potentials. However, in practice, education often remains uniform and discriminatory. This article aims to describe the practice of inclusive learning based on multiple intelligences as represented in the novel Totto-Chan: The Little Girl at the Window by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, and its relevance to sustainable education in Indonesia. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using content analysis of both the Indonesian and English versions of the novel, supported by the theories of progressivism-humanism (Dewey, Rogers) and critical pedagogy (Freire). Data collection techniques include intensive reading, note-taking, and thematic coding, followed by hermeneutic analysis to interpret the educational meanings within the narrative. The data were analyzed by identifying key themes representing values of inclusion and multiple intelligences, then interpreted contextually based on the applied theoretical framework. The findings reveal that Tomoe Gakuen School in the novel demonstrates an inclusive, flexible, and contextual educational practice that embraces “different” children like Totto-Chan and supports the development of character and multiple intelligences through experiential learning, freedom of expression, and egalitarian teacher-student relationships. The educational values reflected in the novel strongly align with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and offer inspiration for sustainable and humane learning practices in Indonesia. This study concludes that literature can serve as a reflective and educational medium in designing inclusive and transformative education systems.

Abstract

Java is a cultural center that is quite influential in the Southeast Asian Region. Since centuries ago, Java has always been the center of attention of products of high cultural knowledge and knowledge. The specific purpose of this research is to develop at an early stage the Java methodology. This research is very strategic to do because the data shows that research on the subject of Javanese culture always shows results that are not optimal. On the other hand, the use of Western methodologies is not able to reach the core Javanese values so that Java only be seen from the outer structure. This study seeks to compile the initial stages of the formulation of the Javanese methodology by collecting data from various Javanese sources, including from the informant, written sources, textbooks, Javanese ancient manuscripts, and various existing traditional ceremonies. The results show that (1) Java has a different conception of truth that has an impact on its methodological implications, (2) the Javanese methodology has a different paradigm, (3) the Javanese methodology is authentic in the attitudes, behavior, and ways of the Javanese people in carrying out their cultural life. Keywords: Methodology; Java; research; culture.
