Abstract

The international class in the Islamic Education study program establishes Arabic as a language of instruction in its implementation of learning, yet not all students have good competences in Arabic. Therefore, Arabic learning is an additional program that is taught outside of regular class hours to practice Arabic skills. Thus, this study explained the implementation of the Arabic learning process in the Islamic Education Study Program in the international class carried out for the first semester students. This study used descriptive qualitative. Collecting data in this study was done by conducting observation and documentation based on Miles and Huberman's theory. Data analysis used in this study was based on the process of collecting data, data reduction, and conclusion. The study result shows that Arabic learning becomes one of the programs that helps students to master Arabic. The implementation of learning using Arabic as the language of instruction can be understood by the students and it even facilitates the communication between the students and the teacher to create a more active learning atmosphere.

Abstract

Arabic speaking skill acquisition in Arabic Language Education (PBA) programs often faces challenges due to the lack of interactive teaching methods aligned with the language's complexity. This study addresses the gap by applying Vygotsky's sociocultural theory, which posits language develops through social interaction. This study addresses the prevalent gap in effective Arabic speaking pedagogy by integrating Vygotsky's sociocultural theory into a simulation-based learning model. It explores how such an approach enhances the speaking skills of students in an Arabic Language Education (PBA) program. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research investigates student experiences and perceptions within this interactive framework. Findings demonstrate a significant improvement in students' Arabic speaking proficiency, accompanied by elevated confidence and motivation. The study concludes that simulation models grounded in sociocultural theory offer a potent pedagogical innovation, contributing valuable insights to the discourse on communicative language teaching and the practical application of social learning paradigms in foreign language education.

Abstract

The industrial revolution 4.0 has changed the paradigm of education and encouraged the use of Distance Learning (PJJ) as an alternative in the learning process by utilizing technology. However, this transition also causes students to be less adaptive and passive in learning Arabic, especially in writing skills (maharah kitabah) at PJJ IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon. Therefore, this study aims to explore the Asynchronus method by applying online discussions as a strategy in learning maharah kitabah. This research uses qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The research sample consisted of 44 students who participated in maharah kitabah learning during PJJ. Data was collected through observation and interviews. In addition, the Likert scale is used to measure students' perceptions of the application of online discussions in learning maharah kitabah. The results showed that the Asynchronus method with the application of online discussions significantly improved students' ability to express thoughts in writing in Arabic. Online discussions provide an opportunity for students to interact with fellow students and discuss maharah kitabah topics. In addition, students reported that through online discussions, they felt more confident in expressing thoughts and ideas in Arabic writing. Being actively involved in discussions, receiving positive feedback, and seeing improvements in their writing skills makes students feel more confident in using Arabic effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of the implementation of the SAVI model in Maharah Kalam learning at the elementary school level. The study used a descriptive qualitative design, with a student questionnaire as the main research instrument. The questionnaire was distributed to 25 students to obtain data on their learning experiences, comfort, confidence, participation, and the SAVI components that helped them most in Arabic speaking practice. The data were analyzed descriptively by identifying patterns in students’ responses and interpreting them according to the research focus. The findings show that students gave positive responses to the implementation of the SAVI model. Most students stated that the learning process became more enjoyable, comfortable, active, and supportive of their speaking practice. The model also helped students become more confident in speaking Arabic, even when they still made mistakes. Among the SAVI components, Visual and Auditory elements were considered the most helpful. Visual media helped students remember vocabulary, while listening, imitation, and dialogue activities improved their confidence and pronunciation. Therefore, the SAVI model can be considered an appropriate learning model for Maharah Kalam because it supports active, multisensory, and student-centered learning.

Abstract

Understanding the relationship between psycholinguistics and personality types in the comprehension of the Arabic language can help improve the effectiveness of language learning. This research aims to explore this relationship by focusing on how psycholinguistic factors and personality traits affect Arabic language acquisition and comprehension. Psycholinguistics studies how language is produced, understood, and acquired by individuals, while personality types encompass consistent characteristics that influence behavior and preferences. The research employed a qualitative approach, using a literature review method to gather and critically analyze relevant sources. The analysis aimed to identify correlations between psycholinguistics and personality types in the context of Arabic language learning. In Arabic language comprehension, psycholinguistics and personality type have a significant role. This study shows that individual personality types can affect vocabulary management, syntactic processing and semantic interpretation in Arabic. The results of this study provide a deeper understanding of the complexity of the relationship between language and human cognitive processes. In the context of Arabic language learning, it is important for individuals to understand their own personality types, as this will help them find effective learning methods and understand Arabic better.

Abstract

The lack of mastery of mufradāt is one of the factors of the difficulty in mastering language skills, and Madrasah in particular does not have material specifically devoted to mufradāt. Mufradāt is taught along with language skills. This is intended to help students focus on the mahārah which must be mastered. This article aims to increase the understanding and mastery of mufradāt in Madrasah Aliyah in grade 11 of MAN 2 Padang Religious Program. The problem that arises in this school is the lack of mastery of mufradāt  in students which makes it difficult for them to understand teaching materials. Based on that, this research is limited to three important points; the technique of using film media in learning  mufradāt,, the levels of students' mastery of  mufradāt  before the action, and the level of mastery of students in mufradāt  after the action. The study used classroom action research method which is carried out in two cycles. The results of the study show that the steps in using film media have several points, giving a list of mufradāt, watching the film, reading the text hiwār from the film, giving difficult vocabulary and test. In the first cycle the value of students previously 66% to decreased to 58.37%, while in the second cycle increased to 86.46%.

Abstract

This study explores how the management functions of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling (POAC) operate in intensive Arabic language learning from the perspective of cognitive psychology and how these management practices shape the epistemic quality of learners’ knowledge and create conditions for the development of powerful knowledge. Employing a qualitative case-study design, the study drew on PKPBA semester learning-plan documents and interviews with eight informants identified by the codes AA, AS, BB, FH, IM, YH, AC, and NQ. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that planning facilitated the activation of prior schemata, content segmentation, and cognitive-load regulation; organizing structured attention, proficiency-based differentiation, and learning environments; actuating operationalized scaffolding, elaboration, multimodal processing, practice, and metacognitive support; and controlling reinforced retrieval, feedback, monitoring, schema restructuring, and self-regulation. Collectively, these functions enhanced the epistemic quality of Arabic-language knowledge by making it more systematic, accessible, integrated, and accurate, while creating conditions for powerful knowledge through generative use, transfer across contexts, access to academic resources, and greater epistemic autonomy. The study’s novelty lies in integrating POAC, cognitive psychology, cognitive regulation, epistemic quality, and powerful knowledge into a cognitive-epistemic management model. Theoretically, the model extends instructional management beyond administrative functions by incorporating cognitive and epistemic dimensions. Practically, it offers a framework for aligning intensive language-program management with learners’ cognitive needs and knowledge development.
