Abstract

This research aims toknowing the learning problems that occur in the process of teaching and learning Bugis language in learning Bugis language local content in Maritengngae District, Sidrap Regency. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive approach in the form of a case study with data collection methods, observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. The results of the study show that there are 4 learning problems in the teaching and learning process, namely teacher problems, learning device problems, curriculum problems, and student problems. Teacher problems, namely teachers who teach not in accordance with their educational background, curriculum problems, namely the absence of regional language curricula, learning device problems, namely there are no adequate learning tools

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendekripsikan struktur frase verba Bahasa Kepulauan Tukang Besi Dialek Tomia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian lapangan. Data penelitian ini adalah data tuturan lisan berupa struktur frasa verba Bahasa Kepulauan Tukang Besi dialek Tomia. Sumber data adalah informan yang sesuai kriteria. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah metode cakap dan simak, teknik rekam dan teknik catat. Dalam penganalisisan data, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural dan pendekatan semantik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembehasan hasil penelitian di atas, dapatlah disimpulkan bahwa frase Verba bahasa Kepulauan Tukang Besi Dialek Tomia dapat dikelompokkan dalam dua bagian. Pengelompokkan tersebut meliputi pengelompokkan berdasarkan satuan lingual unsur-unsur penyusunnya dan pengelompokkan berdasarkan kategori unsur penyusunnya. Berdasarkan satuan lingual unsur-unsur penyusunnya, frase Verba bahasa Kepulauan Tukang Besi Dialek Tomia dibentuk oleh satuan kata dengan kata. Sedangkan, berdasarkan kategori unsur penyusunnya frase Verba bahasa Kepulauan Tukang Besi Dialek Tomia dibentuk oleh satuan lingual yang berkategori: Verba (V) dan nomina (N), Verba (V) dan kata penunjuk (Penjk.), Adjektiva (Adj.) dan kata kerja (V), Verba (V) dan kata keterangan penunjuk (Penjk.), Keterangan waktu (Adj.) dan verba (V), Verba (V) dan adjektiva (Adj.), Penghubung (Konj.) dan verba (V), Kata depan (Preposisi) dan verba (V), Verba (V) dan nomina (N), Kata keterangan (Adj.) dan nomina (N), Kata kerja (V) dan keterangan (Adj.).

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out whether or not the use of the Audio-Lingual method to improve students’ speaking skill at the eighth-grade SMP Negeri 1 Baranti.This research used the experimental method. The population of this study was one class of class VIII.1 of SMP Negeri 1 Baranti were 23 students. The sample of this study was 23 students. This sample was taken using the cluster random sampling technique. This research applied the audio-lingual method in the class. This research applied one type of speaking skill testing to determine students' speaking skill.The researcher found that the use of the audio-lingual method in teaching speaking, it could improve the speaking skill of the grade VIII.1 students of SMP Negeri 1 Baranti. The mean score of pre-test (54,30) was lower than mean score of post-test (57,04), showed that the p-value was lower than the α (0,000 < 0,05) on the significant level (α=0,05). So, the researcher stated that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Based on data analysis, the researcher concluded that audio-lingual method was effective in improving students speaking skill of class VIII.1 of SMP Negeri 1 Baranti

Abstract

The objective of the research were to find out : (1) whether or not the ability the use of Communicative Drilling increased pronunciation ability of the second year students at SMK 4 Sidrap and (2) whether or not the second year students of SMK 4 Sidrap are interested in pronunciation through Communicative Drilling. This research applied Pre-experimental method that apllied one group pretest and posttest. The subject of the research was the second year students of SMK 4 Sidrap academic year 2021.total number of population was 92 students spread in three classes and one class of them XI.3 were taken as sample by using cluster sampling technique. The data of the research were collected by using twi kinds of instruments, namely pronunciation test and questionnaire. Pronunciation test was used to obtain data of the students’ pronunciation ability and questionnaire was used to know the students interest in pronunciation by using communicative drilling. The result of data analysis showed that the mean score of post test (70) was higher than the mean score of post test ( 28). This showed that was significant difference between the students before and after taught by using communicative drilling. Then, the analysis of interest by using Linkert Scale indicated that the students were interested to pronounce English through communicative drilling. It was proved by mean score of students’ interest was (79.9) in categories in interest.The result of the t-test value (7.29) was greater than t-table (α = 0,05: 16 = 2.120). This mean that H1 was accepted. Based on data analysis, the researcher concluded that teaching pronunciation by using Communicative Drilling increased the students’ ability to pronounce English. Moreover, the use of Communicative drilling makes the students’ interested in pronouncing English.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Zoom application in learning Discourse Analysis during the Covid-19 pandemic in the sixth semester of the English Education Department at Muhammadiyah University of Sidenreng Rappang. The data was collected through questionnaires and interviews. This research includes qualitative research with descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research are 30 students. Sampling in this study using purposive sampling, where's the sampling technique is to take 15 students. The results showed that the effectiveness on the use of zoom application in learning discourse analysis during the covid-19 pandemic carried out by students was less effective. Because of the many obstacles experienced during the learning process, such as being constrained by the lack of a network that makes it difficult for students to understand the material presented by the lecturer. As conclusion, zoom application is less able to help in learning, especially online discourse analysis learning.

Abstract

This article investigates whether or not the use of a teacher way of teaching can improve the ability of SMAN 10 SIDRAP students to write descriptive compositions, as well as students' interest in learning to write descriptive compositions by using a teacher teaching method in classes X IPA and XI IPS. The descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study. The total population was 155 pupils, and two classes and two English teachers were chosen as samples using the saturation sampling approach, class X IPA (15) and XI IPS (15). In this study, the descriptive-composition and questionnaire were used to gauge students' interest. From the result of data analysis, the researcher found that the mean score of students Class X IPA (78.00) and students Class XI IPS (77.46). This shows that the score was above of curriculum standard. The researcher concluded that teachers teaching method in teaching writing-improved the students’ ability to write descriptive composition at X IPA and XI IPS, and the students interest Class X IPA (84.76) and students Class XI (85.17) it was categorized in strongly interested. It show that, the students of SMAN 10 SIDRAP-interested to learn write descriptive composition toward teachers teaching method.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to find whether or not the use of morphological analysis can improve the student vocabularu mastery.The research was applied quasi-experimental design . It involved two groups, The experimental group and the control group. The population of this research was the second year students in academic year 2014-2015 of MTS PPUW Benteng. It consist of 7 classes. The total number of population is178 students, The researcher choesestwo classes as simple .Finally, The researcher selected VIII/D as the experimental group and VIII/E as the control group. VIII.D consist of 16 students and VIII.E consist of 16 students so the total sample of the research is 32 students The researcher applied morphological analysis on the sxperimental group and for the contol group the student tought using conventional technique . There were two Thenques of data collecting applied in this study , They were test . The test is used to compare students vocabulary achievements,The application of morphological analysis anhanced the students ability to vocabulary mastery in the second year students of MTS PPUW Benteng . The achievement in vocabulary mastery of the students who applied morphological analysis and those who did not apply morphological analysis had sighnficant difference . It was oroved by the mean score in post test of experimental group was bigher than the mean score of control groupn (79.37-66.87) and the t,test value on post test was bigher than t-table(3.363>2.042)Based on the data above the researcher cocluded that using morphological analysis increase students vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

Dalam sebuah percakapan pasti membutuhkan suatu prinsip kerja sama, agar mitra tutur dapat memahami apa yang disampaikan oleh penutur. Namun, sering kali juga di antara penutur atau mitra tutur melakukan pelanggaran percakapan yang dapat mengakibatkan pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama. Sehingga penelitian ini dibuat dengan tujuan dapat mengetahui adanya penerapan serta pelanggaran prinsip kerja sama yang terdapat di dalam percakapan film pendek komedi Bugis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode teoretis pragmatik serta metode pendekatan metodologis deskriptif kualitatif dengan menyimak tayangan ulang acara komedi tersebut, lalu melakukan teknik catat dalam proses tahap pengumpulan datanya. Hasilnya, peneliti menemukan beberapa tuturan yang melakukan penerapan atau pelanggaran dari prinsip kerja sama dalam sebuah percakapan film pendek komedi Bugis. Hasil itu berupa dua percakapan yang merupakan maksim kualitas (satu tuturan tidak melanggar dan satu tuturan melanggar maksim kualitas). Dua percakapan maksim kuantitas (satu tuturan melanggar dan satu tuturan lagi tidak melanggar maksim kuantitas). Satu percakapan yang merupakan maksim relevansi (tuturan tidak melanggar maksim relevansi). Terakhir, satu percakapan yang merupakan maksim cara (merupakan tuturan yang melanggar maksim cara).

Abstract

This study describes a training needs analysis for training and technical advice in the City of Sidenreng Rappang. This research reveals that there are 12 priority programs that the Sidenreng Rappang government must immediately implement for its government apparatus. Some of them train how to prepare proper financial reports and train how to use social media for government agencies. This only aims to improve the quality of the state apparatus which ultimately leads to satisfactory public services. This study uses the concept of human resource management and training of government officials. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method. The purpose of this training is for Sidenreng Rappang city officials to be able to prepare official letters in accordance with statutory regulations. This is Government Decree No. 80, issued in 2012 by the Minister for Strengthening the State Apparatus and Forms of Bureaucracy. Specific topics and speakers according to their performance
