Abstract

This study examines the application of railway technology in West Sumatra, focusing on the challenges and innovations during the colonial period. The research aims to explore the historical context, technical developments, and socio-economic impacts of the railway construction in this region. Using a historical method with a qualitative approach, the study analyzes primary sources such as colonial archives and technical reports, along with secondary sources like historical books and scholarly articles. The findings highlight the introduction of rack railway systems to navigate steep terrains, demonstrating Dutch colonial technical prowess. Additionally, the construction of the Ombilin coal mines and the associated railway network significantly boosted the local economy but also revealed the exploitation of labor. Overall, the study provides insights into the interplay between technology, colonialism, and local society, emphasizing the importance of geographical adaptation in infrastructure development.

Abstract

Purpose- This study aims to describe the experience of STAIN Mandailing Natal Arabic students in taking the TOAFL test, both when taking the TOAFL exam and when doing TOAFL questions. This study also describes the challenges faced by students in taking the TOAFL test.  Design/Methodology/Approach- The study used a qualitative approach based on analytical descriptive methods and used two data collection methods, namely questionnaires and interviews.  Findings- In this study, it can be seen that (1) the average Arabic student is very happy when taking the toafl exam because it can measure their Arabic language skills and not all students are selected in participating in the activity, (2) in doing toafl questions there are difficulties, namely the audio istima is very fast so they cannot hear well and long qiraah questions make students become bored and panic. (3) The challenges faced by students are regarding timing, lack of practice, inadequate facilities and infrastructure and the atmosphere of the exam.  Research Limitation/Implications- With the research, it is expected that all TOAFL organizers will see and pay attention to the factors that are difficulties and challenges in the TOAFL test, especially non-linear factors so that the implementation of the exam can be maximized

Abstract

Good communication within an organization will create a harmonious work atmosphere and create work enthusiasm that encourages increased performance of organizational members. On the other hand, leadership factors can influence and move individuals in the organization to achieve maximum performance. This research aims to describe the organizational communication climate, leadership style and employee performance as well as to determine the relationship between the organizational communication climate and leadership style on the performance of employees of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious  Affairs  Religious Affairs, both partially and simultaneously. This research is quantitative research with a data collection instrument using a questionnaire distributed to 58 respondents, namely employees of the Ministry of  Religious Affairs using the Stratified Random Sampling method. Processing of research data was carried out with the help of the SPSS program, with data analysis using R correlation analysis and multiple correlation. Based on the data description test, the implementation of communication climate is at 89%, leadership style is at 75.4%, while employee performance is at 85.3%. Meanwhile, the results of the R correlation analysis test on Communication Climate on Employee Performance showed that the correlation coefficient value Rcount ≥ Rtable was 0.399≥0.218 and a significant value of 0.0020.05, which means there is a low relationship between Organizational Communication Climate and Employee Performance. The correlation analysis value of R Leadership Style on Employee Performance obtained a coefficient value of Rcount ≥ Rtable, namely 0.471≥0.218 and a significant value of 0.0000.05, which means there is a moderate relationship between Leadership Style and Employee Performance. The results of the multiple correlation analysis test have a moderate correlation of 0.563 and a significant value of 0.0000.05, which means that there is a positive and significant relationship between organizational communication climate and leadership style on employee performance at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in West Sumatera.

Abstract

Nature is a form of power created by the Almighty God. Seeking the extraordinary creation shows how beautiful the created nature is. All types of objects that show beauty are the great works of Allah SWT. The essence of the universe is Allah's intention to create the universe for humans. The purpose of God in creating the universe is basically a means to convey information to humans and evidence of the existence and omnipotence of Allah SWT that essentially there is the Almighty who rules this universe and creates this universe without any mistakes. For example, night cannot precede day, planets revolve along circular paths until the arrival of the final judgment, and so on. Basically, nature is nothing but Allah SWT. That is why the spectrum of nature is so vast. The universe was created to store so many secrets, because the formation process is very complex and its inhabitants are diverse, making it an interesting study. Nature has the same root word as address, which means something that, if we follow it, we arrive at the intended destination. This means that if we seriously study nature, it leads us to its creator, namely Allah SWT. Nature is also related to the word science, which shows that the essence of the universe is full of scientific mysteries. Let's look at the philosophy of Islamic education, the essence of this universe is not just a place to live, but the universe is actually a place of learning for humans.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemulihan aset hasil korupsi melalui sistem hukum nasional memiliki kedudukan yang strategis, instrumen hukum pidana Undang-Undang Nomor 31 Tahun 1999 jo. Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2001 tentang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Korupsi..Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian hukum normatif. Istilah penelitian hukum normatif. Sifat penelitian yang digunakan penulis pada penulisan hukum ini adalah sifat penelitian preskriptif. Tipe pendekatan perundang-undangan Tipe pendekatan ini dilakukan dengan cara menelaah peraturan perundang-undangan yang bersangkutan dengan masalah hukum yang dihadapi. Tipe pendekatan konseptual Tipe pendekatan ini dilakukan ketika peneliti tidak beranjak dari aturan hukum yang ada, karena belum adanya aturan hukum untuk masalah yang dihadapi. Proses pengembalian kerugian keuangan negara berupa pembayaran uang pengganti dalam praktiknya membutuhkan waktu yang relatif lama karena serangkaian proses hukum yang harus berlangsung dari tahap penyidikan kerugian negara terkait dengan tindak pidana korupsi. pembayaran uang pengganti dengan nilai nominal sesuai yang tercantum dalam suatu putusan pengadilan. Jadi mulai dari penyidikan, penuntutan, dan putusan ingkrah Jaksa memiliki kewenangan untuk penyitaan. Maksimal lamanya penjara pengganti dari uang pengganti yang dapat dijatuhkan tidak boleh melebihi ancaman pidana pokok pelaku tindak pidana korupsi patut dijatuhi pidana tambahan berupa uang pengganti yang diatur pasal 18 Undang-Undang Nomor 20 Tahun 2001 tentang Perubahan atas Undang-Undang Nomor 31 Tahun 1999 tentang Pemberantasan Tindak Pidana Korupsi. Kata Kunci: Kerugian Negara; Korupsi; Pidana Tambahan Uang Pengganti

Abstract

The objective of this research is to conduct a performance comparison between hand-crafted feature matching algorithms and deep learning-based counterparts in the context of rotational variances. Hand-crafted algorithms underwent testing utilizing FLANN (Fast Library for Approximate Nearest Neighbors) as the matcher and RANSAC (Random sample consensus) for outlier detection and elimination, contributing to enhanced accuracy in the results. Surprisingly, experiments revealed that hand-crafted algorithms could yield comparable or superior results to deep learning-based algorithms when exposed to rotational variances. Notably, the application of horizontally flipped images showcased a distinct advantage for deep learning-based algorithms, demonstrating significantly improved results compared to their hand-crafted counterparts. While deep learning-based algorithms exhibit technological advancements, the study found that hand-crafted algorithms like AKAZE and AKAZE-SIFT could effectively compete with their deep learning counterparts, particularly in scenarios involving rotational variances. However, the same level of competitiveness was not observed in horizontally flipped cases, where hand-crafted algorithms exhibited suboptimal results. Conversely, deep learning algorithms such as DELF demonstrated superior results and accuracy in horizontally flipped scenarios. The research underscores that the choice between hand-crafted and deep learning-based algorithms depends on the specific use case. Hand-crafted algorithms exhibit competitiveness, especially in addressing rotational variances, while deep learning-based algorithms, exemplified by DELF, excel in scenarios involving horizontally flipped images, showcasing the unique advantages each approach holds in different contexts.

Abstract

Islamic education is a symbol of the teachings of Islam itself which we must always advance and improve so that we can compete on the one hand, as well as meet the needs of society. Thus, graduates from Islamic educational institutions can contribute more to the state, nation, society and religion. For this reason, Islamic education must always be updated so that it continues to exist in the midst of the progress of the times. Islamic education really needs to be studied in all aspects of perspective in order to enrich the treasures of the concept of Islamic education itself. Therefore, this paper tries to examine Islamic education from the point of view of the history of Islamic education and the spirit of developing science as a reference in building a monumental Islamic education so that it can restore the glory of Islam.

Abstract

This study discusses the origins of Islamic schools in Indonesia. Library research methods. The Islamic school referred to in this study is not an Islamic school in the sense of Islamic Boarding Schools and Madrasahs, but an Islamic school which is better known as the Integrated Islamic School. The presence of an Integrated Islamic School with its integrated curriculum is a new phenomenon in the form of the Islamic education system in Indonesia. Until the late 70s, the Indonesian education system still had a dichotomous pattern. As the Reformation progressed in the 1980s, there were efforts from members of the community to try to get out of the existing system with the idea of an Integrated Islamic School.

Abstract

  Laporan National Institue of Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) menunjukan bahwa terdapat dua penelitian mengenai tingkat stres kerja ditempat kerja di Amerika, yang pertama hasil survei yang telah dilakukan oleh Familier and Work Instituet menunjukan sejumlah 26% pekerja sering mengalami stres ditempat kerja, yang kedua hasil survei yang telah dilakukan oleh Yale University menunjukan sebanyak 20% pekerja mengalami stres kerja.Penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitaf dan menggunakan rancangan penelitian cross sectional study. yang mencoba menggali bagaimana dan mengapa fenomena itu terjadi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 35 pekerja, dan sampel yang di ambil dengan menggunakan total sampling yaitu sebanyak 35 pekerja. Metode pengumpulan data yaitu, data primer dan data ssekunder. Analisik data yang digunakan yaitu analisis unuvariat dan analisis bivariat.Hasil uji statistik dengan menggunakan uji chi square dan diperoleh beban kerja dengan stres kerja pada pekerja dengan angka p=0,000 <0,05, lingkungan kerja denga stres kerja pada pekerja dengan angka p=0,082 ≥0,05, status gizi dan stres kerja pada pekerja p=0,179 ≥0,05, masa kerja dan stress kerja p=0,085 ≥0,05. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan antara beban kerja dengan stres kerja dan tidak ada hubungan antara lingkungan, status gizi, masa kerja dengan stres kerja pada pekerja di PT. Bosowa Propertindo Makassar Tahun 2022 disarankan penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan masukan pada pekerja khususnya pekerja di PT. Bosowa Propertindo.

This research seeks to reveal the strategy of developing micro bussiness at the Al-Kautsar Tanjungpinang Islamic boarding school. The approach used in this study uses qualitative participatory observation. Data was collected through three different sources, key informants, observation and documentation. The results of the research data were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that Islamic boarding schools in developing micro bussiness use strategic management steps. There are four stages carried out by Islamic boarding schools in developing micro bussiness, namely: First: Islamic boarding schools carry out environmental scanning. Second: Islamic boarding schools formulate strategies in developing micro-enterprises which include optimizing resources and taking preventive steps against risks that will be accepted. Third: the next step is the implementation of the pesantren's strategies and steps that have been previously designed. Fourth: Islamic boarding schools evaluate and control the programs that have been implemented.
