Abstract

This research was motivated by the interest of researchers to determine student perceptions of the use of the Quizizz application as an assessment tool in the EFL class at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu. This study uses descriptive statistics as a research design. The researcher prepared 25 statements in a closed e-questionnaire as a data collection tool. The sampling technique in this study was random sampling with a total sample of 36 students. The results of data analysis show that most of the EFL students at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu have a Positive Perception/agree to the use of the Quizizz application as an assessment tool in the EFL class.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out whether or not there was a significant correlation between students’ motivation and their reading comprehension. This research approach that used quantitative with research design was correlation. The population of this research was tenth grade science students at SMAN 1 Bengkulu in academic year 2021/2022, and the sample was the students of X IPA 3. In collecting data, researcher uses some instrument such as motivation questionnaires and reading comprehension test. After getting the data, they were analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment Formula. The analysis was found out that there was a significant correlation between students’ motivation in reading and their reading comprehension. The correlation coefficient was the rvalue 0,966 that was higher than rtable 0,329. The result indicated that the Ho is rejected and the Ha is accepted.

Abstract

Speaking is the most important skill among the four language skill in order to communicate well in this globalized world, especially speaking in English. The data collected by the researcher shows that there are some problems with learning speaking skills. Some of these problems are, students lack confidences in speaking English, students have difficulty in pronouncing English correctly, students are lazy to memorize English vocabulary, and students are less interested in learning English. learn English. With the problems faced by these students, in 2020 the MTs ja-alhaq school launched a pocket book for foreign language conversations which was used as an aid medium in learning students' speaking skills. This conversation pocket book is used during the foreign language development institute program. Foreign language development institutes are programs that study foreign languages. The result from this study is the application of an English conversation pocket book in teaching speaking skills in class VIII MTs Ja-Alhaq the English conversation pocket book has a positive response because it really help the teacher and students in the process of leaning a foreign language, especially English, even though the teacher has obstacles in the learning process.

Abstract

ABSTRACTRampak Bedug Ciwasiat is a musical art form in Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province. The music presents a unique percussion pattern which produced different sounds in its performance. This study employs a qualitative approach with an ethnographic method. Data collection technique used participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Analysis of the data uses the structuralism theory of Levi-Strauss that focused on syntagmatic, paradigmatic, and binary oppositions. The results of the study show that the structure of Rampak Bedug Ciwasiat percussion patterns consists of Rurudatan, Dulag, Selang Dog, Kalapa Samanggar, Gembrung, solawatan, Sela Gunung, and Turumbu. All those percussion patterns become a complete work called Rampak Bedug Ciwasiat.the structure of the percussion pattern becomes a complete work called Rampak Bedug Ciwasiat.Keywords: Levi-Strauss structuralism theory, percussion patterns, rampak bedug Ciwasiat ABSTRAKRampak Bedug Ciwasiat adalah salah satu kesenian yang ada di Kabupaten Pandeglang Provinsi Banten yang memiliki pola tabuh yang unik. Pola tabuh tersebut memiliki perbedaan bunyi yang dihasilkan dalam setiap pertunjukannya. Dengan demikian, kesenian ini mempunyai keunikan dalam pola tabuh yang dimainkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan strukturalisme Levi-Strauss yang memokuskan pada sintagmatik, paradigmatik, dan oposisi biner. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa struktur pola tabuh Rampak Bedug Ciwasiat terdiri dari pola tabuh Rurudatan, Dulag, Selang Dog, Kalapa Samanggar, Gembrung, Sholawatan, Sela Gunung, dan Turumbu. Struktur pola tabuh tersebut menjadi suatu karya utuh yang dinamakan Rampak Bedug Ciwasiat.Kata kunci: strukturalisme Levi-Strauss, pola tabuh, rampak bedug Ciwasiat

Abstract

Perempuan dalam Kesenian Rampak Bedug menjadi sebuah simbol. Rampak Bedug yang ada di Kabupaten Pandeglang hampir rata-rata menghadirkan perempuan dalam pertunjukannya. Selain itu, peran perempuan dalam eksistensinya menjadi ciri khas dalam kesenian tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membahas dampak peran perempuan dalam upaya keberlangsungan Kesenian Rampak Bedug di Kabupaten Pandeglang. Mengingat sosok perempuan dalam kesenian ini menjadi sorotan bagi masyarakat umum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Objek penelitian ini yakni sanggar Pamanah Rasa Kabupaten Pandeglang. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah perempuan yang sedang menuntut ilmu di pendidikan non-formal (sanggar seni) atau pelaku seni di sanggar Pamanah Rasa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan kajian wanita dan kajian seni. Hasil penelitian dalam upaya pelestarian rampak bedug melalui keterlibatan secara aktif di sanggar, peningkatan apresiasi kepada masyarakat umum, dan terlibat dalam pengembangan dan pengemasan Kesenian Rampak Bedug. Abstract

This article examines the dichotomy of knowledge in Islam from al-Ghazali's perspective. The emergence of al-Ghazali amidst the setbacks and divisions that occurred in the Muslim community due to differences in thought and understanding has had a major impact on the unity of the Muslim community. Al-Ghazali has given birth to new thoughts and, at the same time, created a scientific dichotomy among Muslims. Al-Ghazali has compartmentalized general knowledge with religious knowledge, thus creating a scientific dichotomy that never previously existed among Muslims. This type of library research uses a qualitative approach by examining various related references related to the theme of the article. This paper has produced several important findings. First, al-Ghazali's response to the crisis that occurred in society. Second, the scientific paradigm during al-Ghazali's time and before. Third, al-Ghazali's scientific paradigm and its influence on western and Islamic science; and fourth, al-Ghazali's influence on the dichotomy of science in the Islamic intellectual tradition. These four findings can reveal the great role of al-Ghazali's scientific paradigm and the influence of its dichotomy on the development of Islamic scientific civilization.

Abstract

Abstract: Low career maturity among students has become a critical issue in the realm of education, indicating students' lack of confidence in their career choices and their ability to plan a suitable future. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of career guidance programs at State High School 1 Muratara, specifically focusing on efforts to enhance students' interest in studies through group counseling sessions. A qualitative approach was employed in this study, involving interviews, observations, and document analysis as data collection methods. To ensure data validity, a triangulation of sources technique was utilized, involving interviews with the Guidance Counselor, students, and subject teachers prior to the provision of career information services. The research findings revealed that initially, 4 participants exhibited low levels of career maturity, but after receiving career information services, the number of participants reaching a better level of career maturity increased to 7. This research confirms that the implementation of career guidance through career information services at the school has significantly positively impacted the improvement of students' study interests. Key success factors in this program included strong support from guidance and counseling teachers, effective collaboration with relevant parties, and the optimization of available resources. However, a challenge identified was the lack of motivation among participants to engage in career information services. This research contributes significantly to deepening the understanding of career guidance practices in the school environment, emphasizing the importance of enhancing students' study interests as a key factor in developing their potential and making appropriate career choices. The research findings were generated through qualitative data analysis using a Theme Grouping approach, focusing on evaluating the implementation of the career guidance program through career information services at State High School 1 Muratara.Keywords: Career; Guidance; Boosting Interest; Student.Abstrak: Kematangan karir siswa yang rendah telah menjadi isu kritis dalam ranah pendidikan, mengindikasikan ketidakyakinan siswa terhadap pilihan karir mereka dan kemampuan mereka untuk merencanakan masa depan yang sesuai. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan program bimbingan karir di SMA Negeri 1 Muratara dengan fokus khusus pada upaya meningkatkan minat studi siswa melalui sesi bimbingan kelompok. Pendekatan kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yang mencakup wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen sebagai metode pengumpulan data. Untuk memastikan keabsahan data, teknik triangulasi sumber digunakan, dengan melibatkan wawancara dengan Guru BK, siswa, dan guru mata pelajaran sebelum pemberian layanan informasi karir. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa sebanyak 4 peserta didik awalnya menunjukkan tingkat kematangan karir yang rendah, namun setelah menerima layanan informasi karir, jumlah peserta didik yang mencapai tingkat kematangan karir yang lebih baik meningkat menjadi 7 peserta didik. Hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa pelaksanaan bimbingan karir melalui layanan informasi karir di sekolah telah memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan pada peningkatan minat studi siswa. Faktor-faktor kunci dalam kesuksesan program ini meliputi dukungan yang kuat dari guru bimbingan dan konseling, kerjasama yang efektif dengan pihak-pihak terkait, serta optimalisasi sumber daya yang tersedia. Namun, kendala yang muncul adalah kurangnya motivasi peserta didik dalam mengikuti layanan informasi karir. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam memperdalam pemahaman tentang praktik bimbingan karir di lingkungan sekolah dan menekankan pentingnya peningkatan minat studi siswa sebagai faktor kunci dalam pengembangan potensi mereka dan pemilihan karir yang tepat. Hasil penelitian ini dihasilkan melalui analisis data kualitatif dengan pendekatan Pengelompokan Tema dan berfokus pada evaluasi pelaksanaan program bimbingan karir dengan layanan informasi karir di SMA Negeri 1 Muratara.Kata Kunci: A. Abstract

Abstract: Instrument and media in guidance and counseling services aretools used in helping a counselor or psychiatrist in resolving the problems faced by the students or individuals, until the students’ problem or individuals can be resolved soon. Nowadays, the implementation of guidance and counseling servicescan be said that it has run in various level of education, such as: kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school. Although we can say that it has run, however the implementation has not been maximal yet. Because the implementation of guidance and counseling serviceshave not been maximal yet, the researcher was interested in discussing about the use of instrument and media in guidance and counseling services, including the instruments used are based on analysis of data and the needs of the students.Keywords: Instrumentand media, Guidance and Counseling Service.Abstrak: Instrumen dan media dalam layanan bimbingan dan konseling adalah alat yang digunakan dalam membantu seorang konselor atau psikiater dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh siswa atau individu, sehingga permasalahan siswa atau individu tersebut dapat segera terselesaikan. Saat ini penyelenggaraan layanan bimbingan dan konseling dapat dikatakan sudah berjalan di berbagai jenjang pendidikan, seperti: Taman Kanak-Kanak, Sekolah Dasar, Sekolah Menengah Pertama, dan Sekolah Menengah Atas. Meski bisa dikatakan sudah berjalan, namun implementasinya masih belum maksimal. Karena pelaksanaan layanan bimbingan dan konseling belum maksimal, maka peneliti tertarik untuk membahas tentang penggunaan instrumen dan media dalam layanan bimbingan dan konseling, termasuk instrumen yang digunakan berdasarkan analisis data dan kebutuhan siswa.Kata Kunci: Instrumen dan Media, Layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling.

Abstract

This research and development (R&D) is conducted to develop EFL speaking materials for the first semester students of Islamic in Education Program. The speaking materials were developed based on needs assessment which was conducted in Islamic in Education Program of IAI Hamzanwadi Pancor. The procedure used to develop the materials was adapted from the model developed by Hyland (2003) which consists of seven stages i.e. needs assessment, developing the materials, experts and lectures validation, revision, try out, revision, and final product. The subjects of the tryout were the students of first semester C in the 2022/2023 academic year. Forty-two students were selected from this semester by stratified random sampling. The instruments used in needs assessment were questionnaires for the English lectures and the students, an interview guide for the English lectures, and field notes. A validation form was given to the experts and the English lectures to judge and give comments on the developed materials. The instruments used in the tryout were questionnaires for the students, an evaluation form for the lecture, field notes, and students’ tasks. The result of the analysis revealed that the developed speaking materials were appropriate for the first semester students in terms of clarity of the contents, attractiveness, speed of delivery, and level of difficulty. The data from the result of the needs analysis shows most of the students agree to develop EFL speaking materials, to include list of vocabulary in the EFL speaking materials they are learning, to include grammar review in the future EFL speaking materials, to clarify the content of the materials in the explanation, and to arrange the materials according to the degree of its difficulty. From the try-out of the developed materials the data shows the applicability of the developed materials in helping the students to achieve the mastery of speaking skills and language components. Besides, the materials were practical to implement and effective for teaching speaking skills. The final product consisting of a teacher’s guide, a speaking workbook which had 12 units for the first semester. The units were taken from any relevant references.

Abstract

This research aims to examine in the literature what the problems and needs of Generation Z are in career selection and development. This research uses literature methodology. Data is collected from literature, such as books, journals and notes. This article discusses the meaning, theory, previous research findings, and hypotheses regarding the relationship between the use of guidance and counseling media and the desire to use these services. Content analysis is the analysis method used. The results of the study show that there are various problems of Gen Z in terms of career such as social media where Gen Z cannot utilize social media properly and use social media not for learning, career planning influenced by authoritarian parenting, Gen Z's career expectations are too high while work experience and skills are minimal, as well as the influence of global competition that requires Gen Z to compete using qualified skills. The many problems make Gen Z need various things related to their careers, namely career development, salary, work life balance, flexibility, and work location. the use of information technology, especially with the existence of animated video media, in guidance and counseling services in an effort to meet needs and overcome problems in terms of career guidance, counselors can use animated videos that are made as attractive as possible for Generation Z by using animated videos that contain various materials that can improve the understanding, information, insight and knowledge of Generation Z regarding the careers they will pursue in the future
