Abstract

This research delves into the encounter between Islam and local culture within the community of Teluk Mandar. Utilizing phenomenological, historical, and cultural anthropology approaches, the findings unveil that initially, the encounter was peaceful, yet encountered resistance from certain residents post their Islamic studies at the local boarding school, citing the tradition as contradictory to Islamic teachings. Nevertheless, the tradition perseveres as a means to uphold environmental equilibrium and foster a tranquil and prosperous life. Traditional figures retain their pivotal roles, with Islamic elements seamlessly integrated into the ritual. In summary, the encounter between Islam and local culture within the Massorong tradition reflects mutual influence, accommodation, and potential conflict, necessitating profound comprehension and dialogue to sustain community harmony.

Abstract

The primary aim of this study is to analyze the impact of various treatments such as environmental awareness, perceived green value, and perceived behavioral control on the consumers of organic food. The research takes into consideration the scenario where consumers are increasingly accepting eco-friendly products due to their awareness of the environment and their demand for food products which are less harmful or safe for nature. To achieve this, the researchers used a quantitative explanatory approach involving 150 participants with prior experience of organic food products. While purposive sampling was employed to assure knowledgeable and experienced respondents with respect to the organic products. The questionnaire was subjected to item-total validity testing, Cronbach's Alpha reliability testing, and classical assumption testing before the application of multiple linear regression analysis. The findings showed that the three independent variables had a positive and significant effect on green consumption behavior. The determined values of the coefficient of determination indicated that environmental knowledge, perceived green value, and perceived behavioral control together characterized consumer behavior. This study, on the one hand, contributes theoretically by adding to the knowledge of the green consumer behavior and the psychological factors that influence it. On the other hand, the findings of the study offer ways for the industry players to improve their educational strategies by enhancing the green value of their products and making organic products more available as a manner of promoting sustainable consumption behavior.

Abstract

Women who are expecting and who have chronic energy deficiency (CED) are at risk for significant nutritional problem because it contributes to high maternal morbidity and mortality rates as well as fetal growth disorders. This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge level, economic status, and the prevalence of CED in expectant mothers at Puskesmas Balai Selasa Pesisir Selatan Regency in equal measure. The study used a cross-sectional analytical design. A sample of 66 pregnant women in the second and third trimesters was obtained using accidental sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires and measurements of the Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), then examined using the chi-square test both univariately and bivariately. The findings indicated that 42.4% of pregnant women experienced CED. There was a significant relationship between knowledge level (p = 0.000), economic status (p = 0.000), and parity (p = 0.001) with the incidence of CED. It can be concluded that these three variables are risk factors for CED. It is anticipated that healthcare professionals will strengthen nutritional education and interventions that focus on high-risk groups
