Abstract

The collection of knowledge and techniques used to create tools, a system, and a method that helps us solve problems to achieve certain goals is called technology. Technology also covers various fields, such as information technology, biomedical technology, agricultural technology, and many more. Where each field uses its own knowledge and techniques to create solutions to problems in everyday life. Water is the most important component in life on earth, all living creatures need water to survive, including humans. Chemically, water consists of hydrogen atoms (H) bonded to oxygen atoms (O), so it has the chemical formula H20. However, currently the clean water crisis is occurring in almost all big cities in Indonesia. Due to water pollution due to human activities, such as industrial waste disposal, intensive agriculture, and the use of dangerous chemicals, water loses its best quality. Therefore, water treatment technology has a very important role to support people's needs for clean water.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis permasalahan pemerataan akses air bersih di daerah Jember yang berfokus pada peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Melalui metode kajian pustaka, penelitian ini mereview kendala-kendala utama yang mempengaruhi distribusi yang merata dari sumber air bersih di berbagai wilayah Jember. Faktor geografis, infrastruktur, dan kondisi sanitasi menjadi kendala utama dalam pemerataan akses air bersih. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini mencari solusi berkelanjutan melalui beberapa sumber dan kebijakan yang dapat diimplementasikan untuk meningkatkan distribusi yang merata dan kualitas air bersih di seluruh daerah Jember. Analisis ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap upaya pemenuhan akses air bersih dalam mencapai kesejahteraan masyarakat di daerah tersebut.

Abstract

More and more research results report that exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic fields at low intensity can increase cell proliferation. The ELF magnetic field interacts directly with cell membranes, capable of increasing intracellular calcium and under certain conditions affecting cell proliferation. This study wanted to prove the potential of ELF magnetic field radiation with intensity of 200 µT and 300 µT on edamame productivity. The research design used a completely randomized design. The research sample was 250 edamame soybeans of the Ryokkoh-75 variety which were divided into 5 groups. Samples were soaked in warm water for 3 hours and then cured for about 12 hours and exposed to ELF magnetic fields of intensity of 200 µT and 300 µT with variations in exposure time of 60 minutes and 120 minutes. Then it is seeded and planted in the field. Observation of the number of edamame pods and the number of pods was carried out when they were already fruiting, namely day 29 to day 43. The results of the study proved that the number of pods and the number of edamame pods in the group exposed to the 200 µT and 300 µT ELF magnetic fields was higher than the control. It appears that the highest number of fruits and pods occurred in the sample group exposed to the ELF magnetic field intensity of 300 µT. The conclusion is that exposure to the ELF magnetic field intensity of 300 µT has the potential to increase edamame productivity

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a form of learning that is oriented to the needs of students. This research is a classroom action research which aims to determine the effect of implementing visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (VAK) learning style-based differentiation in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' physics learning activities and outcomes. The material used is global warming. This research was conducted in class X-2 of State High School 3 Jember for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The subjects of this study were of 36 students who were divided into three VAK learning style profile categories. This research includes quantitative descriptive research. The research data collection method used a Likert scale learning style questionnaire, activity observation sheets and written tests to obtain students' physics learning outcomes. The design used in this study was the Tagart and Kemmis model cycles and the data obtained was analyzed using classical learning completeness. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning activities by 20.14% and an increase in student physics learning outcomes classically by 25% and the average level of mastery learning was above the minimum completeness criteria with an increase in the average score of 6.06. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL learning model based on VAK learning style differentiation can increase student activity and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine "Resistance of broiler chicken meat through exposure to ELF MF and safety risks to health". Research samples of 140 packs of fresh broiler chicken meat (@ 50 grams) were divided into seven groups (@ 20 packs), one group as control, 3 groups were exposed to ELF MF intensity of 700 µT each with an exposure duration of 30, 45 and 60 minutes, and 3 groups were exposed to ELF MF intensity of 900 µT with exposure durations of 30, 40, and 60 minutes, respectively. Indicators of chicken meat resistance include pH, density, texture, color, aroma, and the appearance of mucus in chicken meat samples that have been stored for 6, 12, 18, and 24 hours after exposure to ELF MF. Research results: the physical endurance of chicken meat stored for 12 hours after being exposed to ELF MF intensity of 700 µT and 900 µT was better than the control. Conclusion: exposure to ELF MF intensity of 900 µT for 45 minutes and 60 minutes is able to maintain the quality of chicken meat at room temperature for up to 12 hours of storage and is safe for health.

Abstract

Exposure threshold values (ELF MF) according to WHO, 100 μT for the public and 500 μT for workers, are still being debated. This study examines the potential impact of anemia in BULB/C mice exposed to ELF MF intensities of 100 μT and 500 μT. The research design used a completely randomized design with intensity and duration of exposure to ELF MF as factors. A sample of 60 male Bulb/C mice were divided into 6 groups, 2 groups exposed to ELF MF 100 μT, 2 groups exposed to ELF MF 500 μT, and 2 control groups. Indicators of anemia include the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels and hematocrit using the complete blood count (CBC) method. Two Way Anova analysis (α = 5%), proved that the intensity factor had a significant effect (p < 0.05) on the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin levels and hematocrit levels, while the length of exposure factor had no effect (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Exposure to ELF MF intensity of 100 μT for 30 days has the potential to cause anemia in BULB/c mice, but there appears to be an adaptive response due to exposure to ELF MF 500 μT

Abstract

Introduction: Until now, the impact of Extremely Low Frequency electromagnetic field radiation (ELF-EMF) by extra high voltage transmission lines (500 kV-EHVTL) is still debated. While WHO recommends a threshold of magnetic field exposure of 100 µT for up to 24 hours/day is declared safe for health. This study aims to examine the Integration of Extremely Low Frequency Magnetic Field Studies in Science Education: "Case Study on 500 kV-EHVTL". This study is important to support literacy in Environmental Physics and Environmental Radiation courses. The location of the study is a 500 kV EHVTL building located in Gondang Wetan District, Pasuruan Regency, East Java, Indonesia. Measurement of ELF magnetic field intensity using the EMF Tester-827 tool. The measurement position is at point 0 (directly below), and lateral distances of 50m, 100m, 150m, 200m, and 250m from the EHVTL power grid cable, as well as distances of 0m, 1m, 5m, 10m, and 15m from the EHVTL power grid tower. The intensity of ELF magnetic field exposure just below the EHVTL reached a value of 5.73 µT-10,085 µT (increased 170-234 times) compared to the natural magnetic field. While several research results prove that exposure to magnetic fields with an intensity of around 10 µT in vitro causes an increase in cell proliferation. Increased cell proliferation in the human body can have negative effects on health. Based on the research results it was concluded that an increase in the intensity of ELF magnetic field exposure up to 170-234 times can cause biological effects at the cellular level and has the potential to cause health impacts on humans. it is advisable to avoid living under the EHVTL network, and the WHO recommendation that the threshold exposure value of 100 µT is declared safe for humans exposed for up to 24 hours/day needs to be reviewed

Abstract

Singkong merupakan bahan pangan lokal yang banyak dimanfaatkan oleh pelaku UMKM, salah satunya diolah menjadi keripik. Tantangan utama dalam produksinya adalah proses pencampuran bumbu agar merata dan efisien. Penelitian ini menganalisis efisiensi energi dan kualitas pencampuran antara mesin pengaduk bumbu pabrikan dan mesin rakitan lokal milik PT Anugerah Jaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kasus melalui observasi dan wawancara langsung di lokasi produksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mesin rakitan memiliki kapasitas lebih besar (15 kg), konsumsi daya lebih rendah (800–1000 W), dan kecepatan rotasi optimal (40–60 RPM). Mesin ini mampu mencampur bumbu secara merata tanpa merusak tekstur keripik. Selain itu, dari sisi operasional, mesin rakitan lebih hemat energi, mudah dioperasikan, serta tahan lama. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan prinsip dinamika rotasi dalam desain mesin lokal dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas produksi UMKM secara signifikan.

Abstract

Dalam era pertanian modern, tantangan utama pasca-panen seperti penyortiran hasil panen menuntut efisiensi, akurasi, dan konsistensi mutu. Penyortiran manual seringkali tidak memenuhi standar tersebut. Inovasi seperti alat sortir otomatis berbasis sensor warna dan mikrokontroler telah terbukti meningkatkan kualitas, efisiensi, dan daya saing hasil pertanian. Salah satu pendekatan yang kini banyak dikembangkan adalah penerapan prinsip elektromagnetik dalam alat penyortiran. Analisis terhadap konsep elektromagnetik menjadi penting karena sistem elektromekanik ini bekerja melalui prinsip-prinsip dasar fisika, seperti medan elektromagnetik, pemrosesan sinyal, dan kontrol gerak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan konsep elektromagnetik pada alat penyortir hasil panen, khususnya dalam pemisahan berdasarkan berat, ukuran, warna, atau kandungan logam pada produk. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu studi literatur pada alat penyortir berbasis elektromagnetik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa medan elektromagnetik dapat digunakan untuk menggerakkan komponen mekanik penyortir atau mendeteksi unsur logam dalam produk pertanian secara cepat dan akurat. Selain itu, penggunaan elektromagnetik memungkinkan pengurangan kontak fisik langsung dengan hasil panen, sehingga mengurangi risiko kerusakan produk. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi konsep elektromagnetik pada alat penyortiran hasil panen dapat meningkatkan efisiensi kerja, akurasi pemilahan, dan mendukung otomatisasi dalam proses pertanian modern.

Abstract

Sistem hidroponik Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) merupakan salah satu metode budidaya tanaman tanpa tanah yang memanfaatkan aliran nutrisi tipis secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep-konsep fisika yang mendasari operasional dan efisiensi sistem hidroponik NFT melalui metode tinjauan literatur. Berbagai jurnal ilmiah dan publikasi relevan dieksplorasi untuk mengidentifikasi dan mensintesis prinsip-prinsip fisika yang berperan dalam pergerakan larutan nutrisi dengan menerapkan konsep mekanika fluida, penyerapan nutrisi oleh akar yakni difusi, pertukaran gas yang didasari oleh hukum Fick, serta faktor-faktor lingkungan seperti suhu dan cahaya yang memberikan pengaruh dalam pertumbuhan tanaman pada sistem NFT. Selain itu, kajian ini juga mempertimbangkan peran desain sistem dan dinamika aliran dalam menentukan efektivitas distribusi nutrisi ke seluruh akar tanaman. Pada pembahasan ini menyoroti bagaimana pemahaman dan penerapan prinsip-prinsip fisika dapat dioptimalkan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan nutrisi, pertumbuhan tanaman yang sehat, dan produktivitas sistem hidroponik NFT secara keseluruhan. Implikasi dari tinjauan ini memberikan wawasan yang lebih mendalam bagi pengembangan dan inovasi teknologi hidroponik NFT di masa depan
