Abstract

This study aims to produce digital teaching materials on the theme of sustainable lifestyle integrated with Ethno-PjBL that are valid, practical, and effective for independent curriculum learning. The type of research used is design research with the Plomp model, which consists of a preliminary research stage, a prototype stage, and an assessment stage. The research is limited only to the practicality stage at the assessment stage, with a trial on 36 students of SMAN Kota Jambi in 2023/2024. The research instruments include teacher interview guidelines, needs analysis questionnaires, knowledge tests, creative thinking tests, validation instruments, and practicality. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis, namely describing the validity of Aiken's V and its practicality. The results of the study show that the digital teaching materials on the Theme of Sustainable Lifestyle Integrated with Ethno-PjBL for Independent Curriculum Learning have valid criteria and a very good level of practicality, according to teachers and students. Thus, this digital teaching material is valid and practical for use in learning

Abstract

Twenty-first century learning requires students to have student’ learning and innovation skills. However, in fact, students' learning and innovation skills are still low. The solution to this problem is the development of ethno-STEM integrated digital teaching material of heat concept to promote students' learning and innovation skills. The aims of this study were to determine the needs analysis, validity, and practicality of the use of ethno-STEM integrated digital teaching materials. The type of research is research and development (R&D) using the Hannafin and Peck model. The research instruments used include needs analysis, validity, and practicality instruments. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the data analysis, there were three research results. First, the needs analysis showed that students' critical and creative thinking skills were categorized as less with values of 54.36 and 52.92, respectively. Second, the product validity test obtained a value of 91.44 in the excellent category. Third, the product practicality test obtained a value of 82.29 in the excellent category. These results indicate that students' learning and innovation skills can be improved through digital teaching materials. Therefore, the ethno-STEM integrated digital teaching materials are valid and practical for use in learning.

Abstract

The Independent curriculum demands student-centered learning by utilizing technology, so that students' 21st century skills can develop. However, what is found at school is very contrary to the demands of learning in the independent curriculum. As a solution, Digital Integrated Science Teaching Materials Integrated Blended-PBL Model (DTMIS-Blended-PBL) was developed for the development of the Independent Curriculum. This research aims to determine the needs analysis, validity, and practicality of integrated digital science model teaching materials with PBL models. The research method used is the development method with the Ploomp. Research data in the form of knowledge scores, creative thinking skills, and communicative skills of students, validity and practicality of DTMIS-Blended-PBL. Based on the research results, three conclusions can be presented. First, there are problems in learning, especially low student achievement and creative and communicative thinking skills. Second, DTMIS-Blended PBL is valid with an average score of 0.87. Third, DTMIS-Blended PBL is practical with an average score of 93.53. Therefore, the developed DTMIS-Blended PBL is valid and practical so it has the potential to improve the quality of science learning and support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) in the 21st century is experiencing rapid development in the field of education. Education in the 21st century requires students to master 21st century skills and themes. One of the themes that students must master is environmental literacy. Based on the initial study conducted, students' environmental literacy is still low. One of the solutions provided to support the improvement of environmental literacy is the development of global warming e-module integrated with problem based learning model and ethnoscience to promote students' environmental literacy. The purpose of the study was to investigate the validity and practicality of the e-module. Product development refers to the Hannafin and Peck research and development model. The technique used in data analysis is descriptive statistics. Based on data analysis, two research results were obtained. First, the validity test results were 91.8 with a very good category. Second, the results of practicality according to teachers and students are 95.7 and 85.2 in the excellent category. The results concluded that the global warming e-module integrated with PBL model and ethnoscience to promote students' environmental literacy is valid and practical and can be used in supporting the physics learning process.

Abstract

The integration of technology with project-based learning (PjBL) has become a key approach to fostering 21st-century skills, particularly digital literacy. However, research exploring the relationship between PjBL and digital literacy remains fragmented and lacks comprehensive mapping. This study aims to analyze research trends and thematic evolution related to PjBL and students’ digital literacy using a bibliometric approach. A total of 184 articles indexed in Scopus from 2015 to 2025 were analyzed using VOSviewer, including performance analysis, thematic mapping, and keyword co-occurrence. The results show a steady increase in publications, with a significant rise after 2020. The analysis identifies major research clusters focusing on digital literacy, immersive learning, instructional innovation, and interdisciplinary approaches. Furthermore, the findings suggest that PjBL is widely associated with enhancing student engagement, problem-solving skills, and broader 21st-century competencies. This study highlights emerging research directions, including the need for more robust pedagogical frameworks and increased cross-disciplinary collaboration. In conclusion, the integration of PjBL and digital literacy demonstrates strong potential to support more interactive and meaningful science learning aligned with digital era demands. Future research should focus on developing more adaptive and technology-integrated PjBL strategies.

Abstract

Twenty first century education focuses on developing critical skills, creativity, collaboration, and communication, utilizing digital technology and innovative learning models. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a problem-based learning (PBL) model based on lesson study in improving student learning outcomes. This research uses bibliometric analysis method, examining the literature from 2019-2024 with Publish or Perish and VOSviewer tools. The results showed that research on lesson study-based PBL in learning is still a relatively new and promising area. Network visualization and keyword density show that this topic has potential for further development. Recent trends show that the integration of PBL and lesson study can improve students' conceptual understanding and practical skills, and address low learning outcomes. This research highlights the importance of implementing innovative learning models to support the improvement of learning quality and student learning outcomes in a broader context.

Abstract

Assessment is a fundamental component of physics and science education; however, the implementation of e-assessment faces unique challenges related to the complexity of abstract concepts and the limitations of comprehensively mapping research trends. This study aims to analyze publication trends, collaboration patterns, knowledge structures, and future development directions of e-assessment in physics and science education through a bibliometric approach. Data were collected from the Scopus database in March 2026 using keywords related to e-assessment and physics or science education, yielding 190 documents from 2016 to 2026. Analysis was conducted using VOSviewer for network mapping and visualization, and Microsoft Excel for preliminary analysis. The results indicate that the number of publications increased significantly following the COVID-19 pandemic, with the United States as the primary contributor and Indonesia ranking fourth. The mapping reveals that research focus has shifted from merely applying digital technology toward integrating artificial intelligence and large language models into adaptive and personalized assessment. New findings also indicate the emergence of atomized problem-solving approaches and the use of translanguaging as an inclusive and equitable assessment practice. In conclusion, e-assessment in physics and science education is evolving toward a convergence of technological innovation and robust pedagogy, with the primary benefit of providing a roadmap for researchers, educators, and policymakers in developing assessments that are adaptive, personalized, and responsive to the cognitive, linguistic, and cultural diversity of students in the digital age.

Abstract

Rapid changes of the 21st century require education to develop essential skills, sustainability literacy, and complex problem-solving abilities. However, many studies indicate that students’ competencies remain low, particularly in environmental awareness, critical thinking, and problem-solving. This condition highlights the need for innovation in science learning that is more relevant to global challenges. Therefore, integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) has become an important approach to improving the quality of learning. This study aims to map research trends and opportunities related to ESD-STEM integration through bibliometric analysis. Data were collected from Scopus-indexed articles published between 2015 and 2025 and analyzed using VOSviewer, including publication performance, co-authorship, keyword occurrence, and thematic mapping analyses. The results show a significant increase in publications, particularly since 2020, focusing on STEM, sustainability, and pedagogical innovation. The dominant subject areas include social sciences, computer science, and engineering, with major contributions from the United States, Indonesia, and Malaysia. These findings confirm that ESD-STEM integration promotes interdisciplinary, contextual, and sustainability-oriented learning, while opening opportunities for future research.

Abstract

Learning should be able to develop students' new literacy to answer challenges in the 4.0 industrial revolution. But science teachers still have difficulty creating learning that is relevant to this era. The solution to the problem is to train science teachers to develop thematic science learning material integrated with new literacy. The objective of the training is to investigate the results of training on the development of thematic science learning material integrated with new literacy. The method of training is demonstration and example by instructors. The training stages include assessing needs, setting goals, designing program, implementing activities, and evaluating training activities. Based on the implementation of the training, it can be stated that science teachers have been able to produce examples of new literacy integrated thematic science learning material in the form of student worksheet, the validity value of thematic science learning material can be classified into the good category, and generally they feel the benefits of training in the material aspects of developing learning  material, thematic learning material, integration of new literacy, and writing of thematic science learning  material. Thus, the training activity has been able to promote science teachers in planning and developing thematic science learning material.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based Electronic Student Worksheet (E-LKPD) using Live Worksheets on renewable energy topics and to determine its validity. The research uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the 4D model (define, design, develop). Data were collected through a validation questionnaire assessed by three experts using the Aiken’s V index. The results show an average validity score of 0.93, categorized as very valid, indicating that the product is feasible for use in physics learning. The integration of Live Worksheets also provides interactive digital support that has the potential to enhance students’ creative thinking skills. However, this study is limited to the validity stage; therefore, further research is needed to examine its practicality and effectiveness in classroom implementation.
