Abstract

Innovative learning models like Project-based learning are believed to encourage not only the achievement of student learning outcomes but also 21st-century skills. Many studies on Project-based learning are related to developing 21st-century skills, one of which is critical thinking, with different results. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study that can elaborate on various studies on the effectiveness of Project-based learning on students' thinking skills. This study aims to determine the difference in critical thinking skills between students participating in project-based learning and other models. This study uses a quantitative approach with meta-analysis. The data is secondary data from studies published in journal articles indexed by Scopus and Google Scholar in the last ten years with a total of 29 studies that are suitable for analysis. The estimated aggregate is the difference between groups. Data analysis used Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Vers.3 to calculate and estimate aggregates, draw forest plots, test hypotheses, and analyze biases. The analysis results show that Project-based learning promotes students' critical thinking skills, although moderated by education level and comparative learning strategies. Project-based learning is superior to traditional learning at various levels of education.  Project-based learning and other scientific learning are known to support students' critical thinking skills. Teachers can also make PjBL more innovative by utilizing information technology, and the contextual environment, as well as integrating various media, content, and other learning strategies to encourage student critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools are institutions where students live who are not accompanied by their parents in their daily lives. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of parental education on the learning abilities of students living in Islamic boarding schools. This research uses a quantitative approach with the research subjects being Islamic boarding school-based junior high school students in Garut, Tasikmalaya Regency and City, West Java, Indonesia. The sample used was 161 students consisting of 63 students from class 1, 57 people from class 2 and 41 people from class 3 MTs (Junior High schools). Data analysis used the Multivariate Analysis of Variance (Manova). The results of the analysis show that there is a significant effect between parents' educational background on the ability to learn Mathematics, Indonesian and Arabic. Meanwhile, for English and science subjects, parents' educational background does not have a significant effect. Even though there is no effect, in general the educational background of bachelor’s parents has a better comparison across all subjects. Differences appear in the subjects of English, Science, Mathematics and Indonesian, where the junior high school education background is much better than the high school education. Meanwhile, for Arabic subjects, the results of the analysis show that the educational background of elementary school parents is better than high school.

Abstract

One of the technologies developed massively in learning is Augmented Reality (AR) technology. This research will explain the challenges of teachers in developing AR-assisted learning media and strategies to anticipate the challenges that arise in developing AR-assisted learning media. This type of research is qualitative phenomenological research. The participants of this research were 75 Mathematics teachers who joined the developing AR-assisted learning media training. The teachers came from various regions in Indonesia. The mathematics teachers invited were 36 junior high school teachers and 29 senior high school teachers from public and private schools who were vulnerable at the age of 22-35 years and 27 teacher is male and the others are female. They have attended an AR-assisted media development training because have interested in AR and education. The data collection used is a questionnaire and an interview which is done to all participants and data analyzed using the Bogdan & Biklen model. The results of the research show that the challenges encountered by the teacher are meeting the minimum standards of hardware and software, limited references both sourced from humans, online media or print media. Efforts made by teachers to overcome existing problems such as gradually upgrading laptops, finding sources from foreign languages and trying to form joint learning communities.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect size of emotional intelligence on student learning outcomes in Mathematics learning, described research trends based on categories, and described emotional intelligence scales (instruments) used in Mathematics learning. This research used a quantitative approach with the method of Systematic Literature Review with Meta-Analysis. The data collected for the qualitative descriptive were 14 research articles and for the combined effect size analysis were 11 articles. It was found that the research trend on the effect of emotional intelligence on Mathematics learning outcomes has increased from 2015 to 2022. The results of the analysis showed that the significant effect of Emotional Intelligence on students' Mathematics learning outcomes was categorized as " medium impact". For the category of education level, junior high school has the highest combined effect value (1.120) in its subgroup, which is categorized as "very high impact". For the demographic category, Kalimantan, Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku regions have the highest combined effect value (0.806) in their subgroups categorized as "high impact". For the type of emotional intelligence scale, articles with standardized (0.659) and unspecified (0.698) scales have relatively the same effect categorized as "medium impact", and the dominance of its use is based on Solovey and Mayer.

Abstract

Project-based learning is ommited by the curricula of various countries. For the future development, the extent of research related to project-based learning needs to be mapped. This literature review research does a bibliometric analysis of project-based learning research published in Scopus-indexed journals over the last ten years. There are 802 articles from the Scopus database in 2014-2023. The R package and VOSViewer tools are used to perform bibliometric analysis. The results are analyzed and intepreted, including the distribution per year, subject area, affiliation, country or region, citations, main information, treemap, authorship, most cited documents, relationships between years, dendrogram, collaboration between authors, collaboration between countries and continents, as well as the relationship between keywords in the article. The number of research increased significantly from 2014 to 2022. More than 50% of these came from social sciences field. Universitas Negeri Malang has published the most articles, while the United States is most publications country. Although the United States has the most documents, Spain is the the most cited country. The most cited document is written by Kokotsaki et al. in 2016. United States, China, Australia, France, and the United Kingdom often collaborate between countries and continents.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran kompetensi sulit matematika SMA di Provinsi Riau yang berkualitas baik/layak yaitu valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran kompetensi sulit matematika SMA dengan menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, Semmel & Semmel yang telah dimodifikasi sehingga hanya memuat tahap pen-definisian, perancangan, dan pengembangan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran kompetensi sulit matematika SMA yang meliputi silabus, rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), lembar kegiatan siswa (LKS), dan instrumen tes. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa silabus, RPP, LKS yang dikembangkan memiliki kategori sangat valid untuk masing-masing silabus, RPP, LKS, dan test instrument. Hasil uji coba lapangan menunjukkan bahwa perangkat yang dikembangkan praktis dan efektif. Kepraktisan mencapai hasil sangat baik ditinjau dari penilaian guru dan siswa. Keefektifan ditinjau dari ketuntasan belajar siswa dan hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Secara klasikal ketuntasan belajar mencapai 84,38%. Secara keseluruhan, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan adalah layak untuk digunakan.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, kompetensi sulit matematika

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan problem-based learning dan inquiry-based learning ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan representasi matematis, dan motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan pretest-posttest nonequivalent group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs sekecamatan Rasana'e Barat Kota Bima dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII MTs Sartu Atap rasana'e Barat Kota Bima dan tiga kelas dipilih yaitu dua kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas kontrol. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan uji one sample t test, uji Bonferroni pada signifikansi 5% dan uji MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditinjau dari prestasi belajar, kemampuan representasi matematis, dan motivasi belajar: (1) problem-based learning dan inquiry-based learning efektif, (sedangkan pembelajaran konvensional efektif ditinjau dari motivasi belajar siswa), (2) problem-based learning dan inquiry-based learning lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, dan (3) problem-based learning lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan inquiry-based learning.Kata Kunci: problem-based learning, inquiry-based learning, prestasi belajar, kemampuan represen-tasi matematika, motivasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

 Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika terintegrasi dengan pengembangan kecerdasan emosional dan spiritual (KES) yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Pengembangan model pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4-D yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan, Semmel & Semmel yang telah dimodifikasi. Melalui proses pengembangan, telah dihasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika terintegrasi dengan pengembangan KES dan instrumen penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran matematika terintegrasi dengan pengembangan KES telah memenuhi kriteria kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Kriteria kevalidan terlihat dari  hasil analisis kevalidan perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang memenuhi kriteria valid, kriteria kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran matematika dilihat dari kepraktisan menurut guru yang memenuhi kriteria mudah digunakan dan kepraktisan menurut siswa yang positif. Kriteria keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berdasarkan pada persentase ketercapaian ketuntasan belajar siswa secara klasikal  sebesar 80%; persentase jumlah siswa yang mendapat skor KES dengan katagori minimal tinggi adalah 80%.Kata Kunci: KES, matematika dan perangkat pembelajaran.

Abstract

Perkembangan dan kemajuan teknologi mengisyaratkan perlu diperbaikinya kurikulum di sekolah. Di Indonesia, tahun 2022 akan diterapkan kurikulum baru yang dinamai dengan kurikulum Merdeka. Pada kurikulum ini, difasilitasi pembelajaran yang melatihkan kemampuan siswa sesuai kebutuhannya atau yang dikelan dengan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memotret/menganalisis kesiapan guru dalam mengujicoba/mengimplementasikan kurikulum merdeka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis fenomenologi. Partisipan penelitian ini diwakili oleh guru SD dari wilayah Indonesia Bagian Barat, Tengah dan Timur Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dengan bantuan google form yang dilanjutkan dengan wawancara untuk partisipan yang terpilih. Teknik Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif bodgan dan bliken dengan tiga langkah,yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Temuan menunjukan pemahaman guru berkaitan dengan kurikulum merdeka sebagai kurikulum yang didesain lebih focus dan fleksibel sesuai dengan pontensi siswa menyesuaikan dengan kondisi satuan Pendidikan. Sedikit guru yang belum memahami dan mengerti adanya kurikulum merdeka. Persiapan yang dilakukan guru sejauh ini mengenal kurikulum merdeka secara mendalam melalui berbagai media serta mengikuti sosialisasi secara luring maupun daring. Hambatan yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam mempersiapkan penerapan kurikulum merdeka adalah kurangnya perangkat pendukung, motivasi dan kompetensi diri guru serta dukungan dari ekosistem sekolah. Ekosistem sekolah secara bergotong royong dengan adil bersama-sama mempersiapkan segala sesuatunya sesuai dengan tugas dan peranya masing masing mempersiapkan penerapan kurikulum merdeka.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mapping of the quality of Islamic higher education based on the similarity of student service satisfaction. This study used ex-post-facto research with an explorative. It employed a descriptive design. The subjects consisted of students from various study programs at the FETT, the SII Ambon. Data were collected through student satisfaction questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using Multidimensional Scaling. The results showed similarities in mapping the quality of Islamic higher education based on student service satisfaction from 6 study programs. It calculated the closest Euclidean distance between objects located in Biology Education and Islamic Education study programs or vice versa, where the proximity is 0.233. It indicates that the quality of education in student service satisfaction between Biology Education and Islamic Education study programs has the highest similarity compared to other study programs. The output of the MDS analysis obtained a stress value of 0.03671 (3.67%) and R2 of 0.99606. It represents an acceptable spatial map (R2 ≥ 0.6).
