Abstract

The study evaluates the internalization of the Pancasila Student Profile values in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. It also examines the implications for students, identifying challenges in the internalization process. A mixed-methods approach with an Exploratory Sequential design was employed. The study involved all implementers of the first batch of the school program, with a sample of six schools. Data collection techniques included observations and interviews for qualitative data and surveys for quantitative data. Qualitative data were analyzed through direct interpretation, while quantitative data were processed using the Rasch model via the Jamovi application. Findings indicate that all six schools implemented various strategies to internalize the Pancasila Student Profile values. The degree of internalization varied, with the highest scores in faith and moral character and the lowest in creativity. Overall, 90.5% of the values were successfully internalized by students. The study highlights key challenges in value internalization, particularly in fostering "eliminating stereotypes and prejudices" and enhancing "flexibility of thinking in problem-solving". These findings suggest the need for more structured interventions to strengthen these aspects. While the internalization of Pancasila Student Profile values in IRE learning has been largely successful, improvements are needed in specific indicators. Addressing these challenges can further enhance students' character development and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This research empirically examines the philosophical dimensions of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), namely ontology, epistemology, and axiology, to develop an ethical foundation for the presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in elementary schools. This study is urgent due to government policies mandating Coding and AI (KKA) lessons and the limited philosophical PAI studies on AI. The study employs an interpretive phenomenological qualitative approach at Az-Zahrah Islamic Elementary School in Palembang, which adheres to Maqāṣid al-Sharī‘ah (specifically Ḥifẓ al-Dīn and Ḥifẓ al-‘Aql). Data were collected through interviews, non-participant observation, and document analysis. The main findings are structured by dimension: 1) Ontologically, PAI positions AI as an inanimate tool (a non-divine creation), maintaining Ḥifẓ al-Dīn (rejecting AI authority) and Ḥifẓ al-'Aql (viewing AI as a human intellectual extension). 2) Epistemologically, PAI establishes the Qur'an and Hadith as the ultimate ethical filters for AI algorithmic information and emphasizes citing sources (plagiarism is considered ghishsh). 3) Axiologically, PAI uses the principles of maṣlaḥah (greatest good) and mas'uliyah (full user moral responsibility) as a moral compass, rejecting technological determinism. The PAI philosophical framework successfully serves as an adaptive and critical ethical basis for AI, aiming to produce a competent, reflective, and responsible generation aligned with Islamic values.

Abstract

The low use of teaching materials that stimulate higher-order thinking skills, while students at the concrete operational stage according to Piaget already have the potential to be trained in logical and analytical thinking. This study aims to develop HOTS-based teaching materials to improve the problem-solving skills of fourth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 18 Palembang. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Planning, Production, and Evaluation (PPE) model, involving observations, interviews, questionnaires, and pre-and post-tests to measure the effectiveness of the product. The validation results show that the developed teaching materials fall into the high category in terms of content and design, with consistent reliability testing. The paired sample t-test shows significant improvement in students' problem-solving skills after using HOTS-based teaching materials (t value = -10.791; sig. 0.000), compared to the control group (t value = -3.994; sig. 0.000), and the independent sample t-test strengthens the significant difference between groups (t value = 3.875; sig. 0.000). Thus, the HOTS-based teaching materials are proven to be valid, effective, and can serve as an innovative model in the development of Islamic Religious Education learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed the learning paradigm from conventional systems to online-based models. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated this transformation; however, the effectiveness of online learning still faces various challenges, particularly in terms of student engagement, concentration, and information retention. This study aims to analyze the application of Information Processing Theory in online learning at SMA Negeri 1 Lawang Kidul, assess its effectiveness, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation methods involving teachers and eleventh-grade students. The findings indicate that the application of Information Processing Theory through strategies such as material segmentation, the use of interactive multimedia, and the provision of immediate feedback can enhance students’ focus, engagement, and memory retention. Learning outcomes significantly improved from an average score of 74.8 to 88.6 after implementing these strategies. The main supporting factors include teachers’ readiness in digital learning design and technological infrastructure support, while the primary obstacles involve network limitations and variations in students’ digital literacy skills. These findings affirm that online learning design based on cognitive theory can enhance learning effectiveness, as it aligns with the mechanisms of human memory.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Islamic interactive applications as an innovative learning medium for Islamic Religious Education at SMK I Setia Darma Palembang. The background of this research is based on the need for learning that is adaptive to digital technological developments and capable of increasing students’ interest in religious subjects. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving teachers and students through interviews, observations, and documentation of learning activities. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Islamic interactive application enhances learning effectiveness by increasing students’ motivation, active participation, and understanding of Islamic Religious Education materials. Interactive features such as learning videos, worship simulations, quizzes, and educational games support a shift from teacher-centered instruction to student-centered learning, with teachers acting as facilitators. The study also identifies several challenges, including limited technological devices, unstable internet connectivity, and teachers’ adaptation in integrating the application into lesson plans. This study contributes empirical evidence that Islamic interactive applications can function as an effective digital learning model to integrate Islamic values with technological innovation, particularly within vocational school contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the innovation strategies of private Madrasah Aliyah principals in realizing sustainable education. The study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method to understand the experiences and leadership practices of madrasah principals in designing and implementing educational innovations. The research was conducted at three private Islamic high schools, namely MAS Nurul Huda Sukaraja, MAS Al-Ikhlas Pametung Basuki, and MAS YPI Sumberharjo in Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency, South Sumatra Province, which were selected purposively based on the sustainability of innovation programs and the active involvement of madrasah principals in policy-making. The research data consisted of the innovation strategies of private Madrasah Aliyah principals in realizing sustainable education, which included academic innovation, religious innovation, and vocational innovation, as well as the leadership experiences of madrasah principals in designing and implementing these strategies. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, and then analyzed thematically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the madrasah principals' innovation strategies were developed through three main orientations, namely academic innovation, religious innovation, and vocational innovation. Academic innovation focuses on improving the quality of learning and the continuity of graduates' studies to higher education, religious innovation is directed at strengthening Islamic values and the social role of alumni, while vocational innovation emphasizes the development of life skills to increase the independence and competitiveness of graduates in the world of work. These three strategies are implemented contextually in accordance with the characteristics of the madrasah and the needs of the environment. This study concludes that the innovation strategies of private Madrasah Aliyah principals contribute significantly to the realization of sustainable education, thus emphasizing the importance of innovative leadership in the development of Islamic education that is adaptive and relevant to the demands of the times.

Abstract

Abstract: Development of PAI Learning with Islamic Wasatiyah Insight: Efforts to Build Moderation Attitude Religious Learners. The human dignity of the Indonesian people has fallen to the deepest abyss, the violence and crime that occurred is an indication that our society has shifted into a society that has lost national identity. The motive for terror is carried out over and over again about jihad fisabilillah in order to achieve a degree of martyrdom, which is a noble degree in upholding the religion of Allah. The meaning of jihad is understood literally-textualist, that is only limited to war (qital) in the physical sense by taking up arms aimed at people both individually and institutionally. Such a textual-literary understanding implies rigid, exclusive and intolerant social-religious attitudes and behaviors to people who are different from them so that there is some kind of belief that people who are outside their group are not right (kafir) and are required fought. Our religious education seems to still be trapped in the teaching of the cognitive dogmatic realm which is teaching the knowledge of rules and religious law with fiqh oriented (fiqh oriented), so the fiqh is considered as religion itself. Departing from these problems, it is necessary to reconstruct a scientific-doctrinaire-based modern learning approach. The students are allowed to inner and intellectual encroachment, so they will find maturity in religion, both in terms of their religious affections and intellectual dimensions. This research includes library research, therefore the steps to be taken are the exploration of a number of data from various literature, both primary data, and secondary data. The method of data collection is done by collecting books, articles, journals, scientific opinions in which it reveals and examines the wasatiyah. The data analysis techniques using descriptive-analytic methods. The data that has been analyzed presented with the deductive method which departs from general theory to lead to conclusions to answers to the research problem. The results of the study show that applying a contextual scientific approach is a must because the approach touches three domains: attitudes, knowledge, and skills. The result is an increase and balance between the ability to be a good human being and have the skills and knowledge to live properly. Learning about Islamic wasatiyah insight is expected to be: first, students become more aware of their own religious teachings and aware of the reality of the teachings of other religions. Second, students are able to develop an understanding and presentation of other people's religions. Third, encourage students to participate in social activities which involve various adherents of different religions. Fourth, students can develop all of their own potential including their diversity potential, so they can control their own lives and more empowered.
