Abstract

This program aims to strengthen the role of students as peer educators and to develop digital campaigns supporting the implementation of SFA within schools and at home. The activities began with initial coordination and a needs assessment conducted in collaboration with the principal and supervising teachers to map students’ readiness and interests. Based on the selection results, fifteen students were chosen as SFA Ambassadors. The subsequent stages included peer educator training, followed by the production of educational digital content, in which students created digital comics using the Canva application. The comics featured themes such as the dangers of smoking, peer influence, the benefits of healthy living, and the importance of SFA implementation in schools. These were then disseminated through digital campaigns and peer education activities. The program concluded with monitoring and evaluation, including surveys of students and parents, analysis of digital engagement, and reflections from the peer educators. The results of this community service activity successfully achieved its primary objectives, namely enhancing students’ capacity and role as agents of change in creating a smoke-free school environment. Through training, mentoring, and digital campaigns, students demonstrated improved understanding of the dangers of smoking, awareness of the importance of smoke-free policies, and developed communication and creative skills in delivering health messages to their peers and the surrounding community

Abstract

High climate variability in the West Java and DKI Jakarta regions is influenced by both local and global factors, particularly Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and Available Convective Potential Energy (CAPE). This study identifies CAPE as a physical mediator between SST anomalies and extreme rainfall, a relationship not previously quantified in local research. Using 40 years of data (1985–2024), the study analyzed correlations among SST, CAPE, and rainfall by integrating ERA5 reanalysis data with rainfall observations from six BMKG stations. The methods included climatological analysis, anomaly evaluation, and Pearson correlation with a significance level of p-value < 0.05. The results show that rainfall patterns follow a tropical monsoon climate, with peak rainfall in December–February and a dry season in June–August. A strong positive correlation between SST and rainfall emerges in southern West Java near the Indian Ocean, whereas in northern areas, such as coastal Jakarta, a negative correlation is observed, influenced by El Niño and a positive IOD. CAPE also shows a strong positive correlation with rainfall at nearly all stations, particularly at Citeko and Kertajati, indicating the dominance of local convective processes. Additionally, SST and CAPE are positively related in the southern region, confirming the role of ocean warming in enhancing atmospheric instability. These findings provide important scientific support for strengthening early-warning systems for extreme weather in densely populated regions.

Abstract

Physical activity, sleep quality, and stress levels on physical fitness in adolescence can increase the positive value of adolescent students' development in doing all activities. At the same time, previous research has shown that physical activity, stress levels and sleep quality strongly influence each of these activities in the context of positive influences. Because adolescent activity is so high, the study examined this relationship in everyday life. The design and method used in this study were correlational, with 200 adolescent students involved in this study who selected purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, among which IPAQ is a questionnaire with a physical activity measurement scale. Sleep quality using PSQI (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index). Stress rating scale using DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scales). Physical fitness is measured using the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test for 16-19 years. Data analysis using Spearman's rho correlation test using SPSS application version 26. This study found that in physical activity with adolescent physical fitness, Sig. 0.714 > 0.05 was obtained, which shows a significant relationship between physical activity and physical fitness. Sleep quality with physical fitness in adolescents obtained Sig. Value 0.826 > 0.05, so there is a significant relationship between sleep quality and physical fitness in adolescents. At the level of stress related to physical fitness, they obtained Sig. Values of 0.000 < 0.05 mean that no significant relationship exists between adolescents' stress levels and physical fitness.

Abstract

Background: The State University of Malang has substantial potential for solid waste generation due to the high density of academic activities. Although general estimates of waste volume are available, detailed data on waste characteristics and composition within campus facilities remain limited. This study aims to quantify waste generation at the food courts of the A19 and A20 Joint Lecture Buildings, evaluate existing waste management practices, and assess the potential for recyclable waste utilization. Methodology: A quantitative descriptive approach was applied. Waste generation measurements were conducted in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard SNI 19-3964-1994 by analyzing waste production and composition over eight consecutive days. Average waste generation per seat, waste volume, and specific gravity were calculated, and waste materials were classified based on their characteristics and sources. Findings: The results indicate daily variations in waste generation, with average rates of 0.14 kg/seat/day at Food Court A19 and 0.07 kg/seat/day at Food Court A20. The dominant waste fractions were paper, plastic, and food waste, reflecting consumption patterns within the study area. Variations in waste volume were associated with fluctuations in academic activities and food service operations. Organic waste shows potential for eco-enzyme production and takakura composting, while paper and plastic waste may be managed through structured collection programs. Contribution:  This study provides site-specific empirical data on waste generation rates and composition within a higher education campus, supporting data-driven improvements in campus-scale waste management strategies

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed learning paradigms, including within Islamic education. This study was motivated by the low learning motivation of students in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam) at Muhammadiyah 3 Watukelir Senior High School, which traditionally relied on conventional teaching methods. The purpose of this research is to analyze the use of TikTok as a learning medium to enhance student motivation, identify obstacles encountered, and propose effective solutions for its optimization. This research applied a qualitative descriptive method using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques involving SKI teachers and tenth-grade students. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, consisting of data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that TikTok effectively increases students’ motivation and engagement through creative and educational video content. The main challenges include unstable internet connections and limited availability of appropriate educational materials, which can be addressed by improving school facilities, providing teacher training, and producing self-made Islamic learning videos. The implication of this research emphasizes that TikTok can serve as an innovative learning medium that harmoniously integrates digital technology with Islamic educational values in a creative and meaningful way.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of teacher-provided motivation on the Qur’an memorization learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at Muhammadiyah Integrated Islamic Junior High School (SMP IT) in Sragen. The background of the study is the crucial role of teachers in fostering students’ learning motivation, particularly in a Qur’an memorization (tahfidz) program where some students have not met the memorization targets set by the school. Previous research shows that students’ learning motivation is positively correlated with academic achievement. However, few have specifically investigated the role of teachers’ external motivation on Qur’anic memorization achievement. This correlational quantitative research involved 30 seventh-grade students as the sample. Data on teacher motivation were collected through questionnaires, while memorization outcomes were obtained from tahfidz exam scores. The results indicate that teachers’ motivational efforts in class are in the good to very good category, and students’ Qur’an memorization outcomes are generally good (the majority of students achieved the fluency and accuracy targets). Nevertheless, Pearson product-moment correlation analysis showed no significant influence of teacher motivation on memorization outcomes (r = 0.101; p > 0.05), with an extremely weak relationship. This finding suggests that teacher-provided motivation alone is not sufficient to significantly improve memorization results.

Abstract

This study examines the role of criminal law in curbing unlawful land-use practices in Indone-sia's broader spatial-planning framework. Its primary interest lies not only in asking whether the threat of criminal enforcement deters potential offenders but also in investigating whether those who violate the rules receive sanctions that are credible, consistent, and sufficiently severe. Employing a normative legal methodology, the author examines statutory texts, cornerstone legal principles, and leading judicial opinions, deftly navigating between major codes and significant academic commentary. The analysis shows that although sanctions appear to be codified, they operate with limited force in the real world because of vague language, poorly trained investigators, and an enduring pattern within government agencies to rely on softer administrative fines before resorting to stricter penalties. On that ground, the paper insists that criminal tools must still act as an ultimum remedium if Indonesia hopes to defend the rule of law and head toward truly sustainable land management. To make the system stronger, the author(s) calls on lawmakers to clarify enforcement paths, improve coordination between ministries, and fund training for the officers who face spatial violations day after day.

Abstract

Credit guarantee institutions play a pivotal role in expanding financial inclusion, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which contribute over 60% to Indonesia’s GDP and employ approximately 97% of the national workforce (Kemenkop UKM, 2024). PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo), a state-owned enterprise under the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG), serves as a key factor in mitigating credit risk and facilitating access to financing through its guarantee schemes. This study critically examines the legal reform of credit guarantee mechanisms in Indonesia by analyzing the regulatory framework governing Askrindo and its ongoing digital transformation. The research highlights regulatory fragmentation across the Insurance Law (Law No. 40/2014), OJK regulations, and Ministry of Finance policies, which often results in operational inefficiencies and legal ambiguities in claim settlement and risk management. Concurrently, Askrindo’s digital initiatives—such as the implementation of e-guarantee platforms, AI-based credit scoring, and integration with national MSME databases—have significantly improved service delivery and data transparency. Empirical data from Askrindo’s annual reports (2020–2024) indicate an 18.7% increase in guaranteed credit volume following digital adoption, with a notable reduction in manual processing time by 42%. However, unresolved legal disputes related to 12.3% of defaulted claims underscore the urgency of harmonizing digital innovation with legal accountability. Interviews with regulators and Askrindo executives further reveal gaps in consumer protection, audit mechanisms, and legal clarity surrounding digital guarantees. Using a law and economics approach, this article argues that Indonesia’s credit guarantee system requires a comprehensive legal reform that aligns regulatory oversight with digital innovation. Important suggestions include creating a single set of laws for digital guarantees, requiring clear information sharing, and adding real-time audit trails to improve accountability and protect MSME beneficiaries.
