Abstract

The resilience crisis experienced by wives within modern family structures is often rooted in a disconnection between intrapersonal needs and transcendental orientation. This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of the psychodynamics of wives’ resilience by positioning self-love as a manifestation of hablumminannas (the horizontal dimension of human relationships) and spiritual coping as a manifestation of hablumminallah (the vertical dimension of the relationship with God) in maintaining family harmony. Employing a qualitative approach with an interpretative phenomenological design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with married women who had encountered significant family stressors yet successfully maintained domestic stability. Data were analyzed using an explicative analysis technique to uncover the essential structure of participants’ lived experiences. The findings reveal that self-love determination functions as an ego-regulating mechanism that prevents pathological self-abnegation, while spiritual coping serves as a cognitive reappraisal mechanism that transforms suffering into theological meaning. The integration of these two dimensions forms a “theo-psychological resilience axis” that enables wives to transcend primitive self-defense mechanisms and achieve mature adaptation. The originality of this study lies in its reconceptualization of self-love, which is often perceived as selfish within secular perspectives, as an ethical obligation to safeguard the trust of the self within the framework of Islamic spirituality. The findings underscore the importance of family-based clinical interventions that integrate self-esteem enhancement through self-appreciation and transcendental spiritual support.

Abstract

This research investigates the semantic complexities of Mubham al-Dalalah to determine its influence on the interpretative process of religious scriptures. It aims to explain how textual ambiguity functions within Islamic legal interpretation and contributes to maintaining legal flexibility across different temporal and social contexts. The study employs a qualitative library research methodology grounded in semantic-hermeneutic principles. Classical Usul al-Fiqh literature is integrated with modern linguistic theories, with classical treatises serving as the primary data source for analyzing four levels of semantic ambiguity. The findings classify semantic ambiguity into four categories: Khafi, Mushkil, Mujmal, and Mutashabih, each requiring a distinct level of interpretative rigor. The study demonstrates that semantic analysis transforms ambiguity from a linguistic obstacle into an opportunity for ijtihad, while contextual considerations are essential for selecting appropriate meanings consistent with divine intent and justice. Furthermore, integrating classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary linguistic approaches produces a more comprehensive understanding of religious texts. The study provides a theoretical framework for strengthening contemporary Islamic legal interpretation by combining classical Usul al-Fiqh with modern semantic analysis. It offers guidance for scholars and jurists in addressing contemporary legal and social issues while preserving fidelity to Islamic textual principles, thereby enhancing the relevance of religious interpretation in increasingly pluralistic and globalized societies. The originality of this study lies in its integration of classical Islamic semantic theory (Mubham al-Dalalah) with modern linguistic and hermeneutic approaches. By systematically conceptualizing the four hierarchical levels of semantic ambiguity within a contemporary interpretative framework, the research provides a novel analytical model that bridges traditional Islamic jurisprudence and modern linguistic scholarship.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a multicultural nation, faces serious challenges marked by the increasing prevalence of identity-based social conflicts, intolerance, and social polarization, which have contributed to the weakening of national integration. This condition indicates that the management of diversity cannot rely solely on symbolic or repressive approaches, but requires educational and sustainable strategies. This article aims to analyze multiculturalism as a character education strategy in responding to social conflicts and the challenges of national integration in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods through critical analysis of academic literature, research findings, and relevant policy documents. The findings reveal that multicultural-based character education plays a strategic role in fostering tolerant attitudes, strengthening social cohesion, and cultivating an inclusive national identity without negating local identities. When systematically integrated into curricula, school culture, and learning practices, multiculturalism functions as a preventive approach to social conflict and serves as a foundation for sustainable national integration. This article contributes to the enrichment of character education studies by positioning multiculturalism as a strategic framework contextualized to Indonesia’s socio-cultural realities in the twenty-first century.

Abstract

The integration of HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) into Arabic language learning is essential to prepare 21st-century students for increasingly complex global demands. This study explores the implementation of HOTS-based Arabic learning by examining the opportunities and challenges encountered in the digital era, with a specific focus on a technology-integrated Islamic boarding school context. Employing a qualitative case study approach at Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) Malang, Indonesia, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Analysis followed the Miles and Huberman framework, encompassing data reduction, presentation, and verification, with validity strengthened through triangulation of data and sources. The findings indicate that: a) HOTS implementation in Arabic learning is highly relevant and feasible through digital platforms, yet it faces significant challenges; b) the primary opportunities include enhanced accessibility, student engagement, and global competitiveness, while the most dominant challenges stem from teachers’ limited HOTS pedagogical knowledge, uneven student Arabic proficiency, and a lack of HOTS-oriented teaching materials. This study concludes that HOTS skills, when effectively integrated with digital tools, can significantly foster globally competitive learners, provided that systemic supports are strengthened

Abstract

Many learning institutions and organizations are currently faced with the acute burden of trying to forecast the academic performance of their students. This paper reflects the application of machine learning tools to discuss the potential and performance of students in Islamic Studies. The framework suggested in this paper, will start with the acquisition of the historical data of the students in the input dataset. First, the forward selection wrapper method is used to select the most meaningful features thus eliminating the redundant qualities in the set of student data. Three types of classifiers are then used to create a classification model based on fuzzy support vector machines (SVM), K-nearest neighbors (K-NN), and Naive Bayes. In such a methodological approach, academic performance is predicted and results measured according to certain criteria. According to results of the experiment, it is noted that feature selection-fuzzy support vector machine (FS-fuzzy SVM) has an excellent accuracy of 99.9% with a sensitivity of 98.50% and a specificity of 98.50% and it is therefore seen to be more effective in predicting the academic performance of students in Islamic Studies.

Abstract

Abstract

The Arabic language learning using the book "Arabiya Baina Yadaik" at Dar El Iman Islamic Boarding School in Padang faces significant challenges in meeting the graduation standard of a minimum score of 85. Among the 21 first-year junior high school students, 52% did not achieve this standard. To address this issue, remedial activities were conducted to ensure all students could meet the learning targets. This research aims to improve Arabic language learning outcomes through a remedial teaching method that combines group and individual tasks. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to detail the implementation and results of the remedial activities. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and analysis of student scores before and after the remedial activities. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes following the remedial activities. The graduation rate increased from 48% to 85%, and the number of students who did not pass decreased from 11 to 3. This demonstrates that the remedial teaching method is effective in helping students achieve the graduation standard. In conclusion, combining group and individual tasks in remedial teaching can significantly enhance students' Arabic learning outcomes and overcome learning obstacles. This research contributes to developing more effective Arabic teaching strategies in Islamic boarding schools and other educational institutions.
