Abstract

The concept of the Islamic family does not differentiate between the rights and obligations of husbands and wives. Both spouses possess reciprocal rights and responsibilities, and each is entitled to fair treatment from the other. Consequently, when one party perceives that their rights are not being fulfilled, it may lead to a breakdown of the marital relationship and result in divorce. This study is the library-based research employing a normative legal approach.

Abstract

Measurement learning is a fundamental and applicable mathematical topic in everyday life, but it often causes learning difficulties for students, especially in understanding the meaning of units, relationships between quantities, and the conceptual measurement process. These difficulties are not only caused by students' limited cognitive abilities, but also by learning designs that do not fully facilitate social interaction and student learning development. This study aims to reconstruct the contextual didactic design in measurement learning by reviewing the role of social interaction and the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) in the student learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of Didactic Design Research (DDR). The research stages include analysis of the initial didactic situation to identify student learning barriers, implementation of contextual didactic design in measurement learning, and retrospective analysis of student responses as a basis for reconstructing the didactic design. Data were collected through learning observations, analysis of student work results, interviews, and learning documentation. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively by examining social interaction patterns, forms of scaffolding, and student movements in the Zone of Proximal Development. The results of this study indicate that understanding of measurement concepts develops through social interactions between students and between students and teachers within a meaningful learning context. Social interactions and scaffolding provided gradually can encourage students to move from actual abilities to potential abilities within the Zone of Proximal Development. Retrospective analysis indicates that reconstruction of the didactic design is necessary to refine the learning context, activity sequence, and scaffolding strategies to better align with students' learning characteristics. The reconstruction of the didactic design can reduce learning barriers and improve the quality of students' conceptual understanding in measurement learning. This research provides theoretical contributions to the study of social constructivism-based mathematics education and provides practical implications for teachers in designing measurement learning that is more responsive to social interactions and student learning development.

Abstract

Sea transportation is essential to global logistics, and the efficiency of a vessel’s propulsion system is critical to operational performance, especially on LPG carriers. Turbochargers enhance diesel engine volumetric efficiency by utilizing exhaust gases to compress intake air, enabling more complete combustion and greater power output. Declining turbocharger performance can reduce engine power, increase fuel consumption, and raise exhaust gas temperatures beyond safe limits. This study investigates the impact of turbocharger performance on the main engine power output of the LPG/C Cipta Diamond vessel. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as direct observation, structured interviews with chief engineers and technicians, and documentation of engine logbook data. The collected data were analyzed using the Fishbone method (Ishikawa diagram) to identify the root causes of the observed decline in turbocharger performance. The findings indicate that several factors influence turbocharger performance, including the physical condition of its components, the cleanliness of the air intake ducts, exhaust gas temperature levels, and lubricant quality. Additionally, human factors and maintenance scheduling were found to significantly affect the stability of turbocharger performance. Mitigation measures implemented to address performance degradation include routine maintenance, examination of exhaust gas pressure and temperature, replacement of wear-prone components such as bearings and seals, and the use of air pressure and temperature monitoring systems to enable early detection of performance decline.

Abstract

In 2024, air pollution levels in Jakarta were recorded as the highest in Southeast Asia, based on various air quality monitoring reports. This condition has become an increasingly alarming environmental issue, with pollution levels frequently exceeding the safe threshold set by the World Health Organization (WHO). One of the efforts by the Jakarta Provincial Government to address this problem is a free plant distribution program for the public. Plants play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide, producing oxygen, and reducing airborne pollutant particles. However, plant maintenance—especially watering—poses its own challenges. Inefficient watering can cause plants to experience stress, wilt, or even die. With the advancement of technology, an automatic plant watering system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) presents a potential solution to improve the efficiency and sustainability of plant care. This study aims to develop a smart plant watering system application based on IoT that can automatically control watering based on real-time soil moisture levels. The system was applied to spider plants (Chlorophytum comosum) grown in pots with a diameter of 15 cm. By using an ESP32 microcontroller, a soil moisture sensor (Capacitive Soil Moisture Sensor v1.2), an air temperature and humidity sensor (DHT11), and a water pump, the system automatically activates watering when the soil moisture is below 55% and stops when it exceeds 65%. Sensor data is stored in a database and displayed through a web-based application for remote monitoring.

Abstract

Due to land scarcity, rapid urbanization, and shrinking agricultural space, urban environments such as Jakarta face increasing agricultural challenges. By enabling efficient, soil-free cultivation in limited areas, hydroponics has emerged as a promising solution to address these issues. However, ensuring the consistency of the quality of hydroponic water systems, especially in terms of pH and total dissolved solids (TDS), is often done manually, which is ineffective and prone to human error. Several IoT-based solutions have been proposed; however, many rely on cloud services or mobile platforms, which limit accessibility in offline environments. This study introduces a scalable, internet-independent hydroponic water quality monitoring system that uses pH and TDS sensors connected to an ESP32 microcontroller. A Node-RED dashboard, accessible by a browser on a local network, is used by the system to display data in real time, using the MQTT protocol. The system, developed using the IoT Platform Design Methodology, underwent black-box testing to ensure that its data acquisition, transmission, and visualization were accurate. The results showed reliable performance without any functional errors. Classified as a Level 2 IoT system, it allows real-time monitoring without automation and the possibility of future expansion such as data storage and actuator control. The proposed system provides a practical and scalable solution for urban hydroponic farmers working in areas with limited internet connectivity.

Abstract

Law enforcement in the field of customs is an important element in maintaining the country's fiscal interests and economic sovereignty. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of customs law enforcement in export and import activities, identify the factors contributing to export–import smuggling, and examine the preventive and repressive measures implemented by customs authorities. This article combines a normative legal approach with empirical support sourced from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) and the Parepare Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC). The focus of the research includes the effectiveness of customs law enforcement, the factors causing the smuggling of export-import goods, and the preventive and repressive strategies applied. The results of the analysis confirm that although the legal framework is relatively comprehensive, implementation challenges—including limited institutional capacity, extensive territorial waters, and a low culture of compliance—hinder the effectiveness of law enforcement. Recommendations include strengthening human resources, implementing risk management, increasing inter-agency cooperation, and enhancing efforts to recover state losses.

Abstract

This study analyses the paradigm shift in the regulation of territorial boundaries and jurisdiction of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia as stipulated in Law No. 43 of 2008 on State Territory. The study focuses on Articles 2, 3, 5, and 14–18 with an International Cooperation approach, which emphasises the importance of shifting from defensive sovereignty to collaborative sovereignty in state border governance. Normatively, this study uses a doctrinal legal analysis method with a conceptual and comparative approach to the principles of international law, particularly the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). The results of the study indicate that the norms in Law No. 43 of 2008 need to be transformed from an administrative paradigm to a diplomatic-integrative paradigm. The management of state borders not only serves to maintain territorial integrity but also strengthens Indonesia's position as a norm entrepreneur in border diplomacy and regional maritime cooperation. This paradigm shift places international cooperation, mutual benefits, and the principle of equity as the new foundation for the formulation and implementation of state territorial boundary policies. Thus, the concept of state territorial regulation shifts from a closed sovereignty approach to an open, cooperative sovereignty, in line with Indonesia's free and active foreign policy.
